Do you rest at the weekend?

I’m bone tired. At the weekend I long to sit and read the paper, watch a movie or even have a nap!

I’m still exhausted on a Sunday night and not at all recharged for the week ahead.

Are you allowed/allow yourself to rest or are you on the go all the time?

Not really, I like to maximise my weekends and keep busy. Yesterday I stayed in bed till around 10 and felt super lazy lol. However caveat is I don't have kids, I'm sure if I did I'd want to rest a lot more. Can't your husband take your DC out and let you have some down time to yourself?

No, my Saturday is usually early food shop, then Parkrun. Home, shower, washing, cleaning. Drop ds at work, then do a few hours in the garden. Maybe wash the car, then collect ds from work. Cook supper, collapse in front of the telly or curl up with a book.

Sunday is a bit easier. Sort laundry for the coming week, do any admin, maybe grab a coffee with a friend or an hour's shopping. Gardening or decorating followed by a martial arts class, then cook supper, check ds is ready for school, then relax.

Life as a single mum 😁

Not so much.
Most weekends we are away in our camper van or I’m doing something related to dog competition. Competing or training.
Often meeting friends for lunch/dinner if not away.
Running, river swimming, racket sport, or attending an exercise class.
I enjoy making the most of life!

No kids has been an active choice of mine.

I never seem to get the chance.
Saturday I started with putting a wash on, then went for a dog walk at 7am. Came home from the walk, hung the washing out then went to the supermarket. Second dog walk after putting groceries away, then straight out to youth theatre group where I volunteer. Came home, cooked dinner then went to my bedroom early for the evening as DD and her mate took over the tv. Asleep by 10pm.

Yesterday it was dog walk, gym class, put clothes away, change sheets, ironing, take DD friend home, trip to buy school shoes, take DD to her dads, second dog walk, food prep. 4pm I was so knackered I lay down for an hour. I did manage to relax yesterday evening.

I do at least 20k steps every weekend day and I’m a bit knackered tbh.

I sleep in a bit longer in the morning (not too late), then usually get up, sort breakfast and then either batch cook/sort sandwiches for week or hoover, then I might do my online food shop or potter around with the kids. Or even catch up on work for the following week! I live a very exciting life
