Whats your go against mumsnet rules that would make some netters frown at you for, but we dont care, some netters may be shaking with what we do.

Mine is the following.
I clean my ears with ear buds.
I fly more than 3 times ayear.
And i use many disposable items.
I also have more than 1 packet of crisp aweek.
I dont donate money to any charity.
And all home waste goes in the black bin.
I dont cook from scratch.

I'm a size 16!

AbsoluteHoot · 21/06/2026 19:42

I didn't know cleaning your ears with cotton buds was a crime.

It’s a Mumsnet crime but also one of life’s greatest pleasures. Eargasm anyone?

Sometimessmiling · 21/06/2026 19:47

Don't tidy up everyday
Use the same towels after 1 shower, even after 2
Use a toilet brush
Never painted any of my walls grey or have an acoustic wall or fake panelling
Don't always flush the toilet after a pee.

I have a manual job.

I support farmers.

I own loo brushes, but haven't yet resorted to putting them in my dishwasher.

The dogs' bowls go in the dishwasher.

I do not holiday abroad, or even to Centre Parcs.

My car is a cheap little runaround.

I live in a rented house.

I live in a fairly remote area Up North.

I leave washing out overnight, and also own a tumble dryer.

I am working towards self-sufficiency in terms of food.

I cheerfully remove all of my body hair, because it is my choice to do so.

I never look pristine.

I like being single for many reasons.

I have no interest in politics, the news or the Royal Family.

My puppies had to survive being left at home unsupervised while I went to work, until they were trained to work and could come with me.

I would not charge adult DC to live at home.

I have never been above ground in London in my life. If I hadn't been passing through on the Underground (as a country bumpkin, that was hard work!), I'd never have set foot in the capital city of my birth country.

Own 3 rental properties, including one in Spain which we fly out to several times a year.

Love a picky tea

I can go one better than that . My cat sleeps UNDER my duvet !

Love it ❤️

The local stray cat who didn't belong to anyone and belonged to everyone would sleep on my bed 😂

mathanxiety · 21/06/2026 20:02

Live in the US and enjoy many aspects of life here.
Use a tumble dryer (see: life in US).
Leave pots and Pyrex bakeware soaking in the sink overnight.
Own and use a loo brush.
Drive an SUV. My previous one was bigger than the one I have now.
Like dogs in theory but would never own one.
Like teens and don't think letting them loose to traipse around town all evening is a good thing.

I have fake grass in my garden.

I write right-handed but eat left-handed.

I too eat ‘left handed’! I didn’t know this was a MN crime 😆

Changingplace · 21/06/2026 20:12

I just ate an entire bag of bacon crispies because I couldn’t be bothered to make any dinner.

I'd have kept at least one part of that quiet. Appalling.

AMurderofMurderingCrows · 21/06/2026 20:18

I love my animals more than humans

I only give to animal charities

I don't trust people who don't like animals (psychopathic...)

I am vegetarian

I swear... A LOT

I have only ever voted and will continue to vote SNP and want an independent Scotland.

I detest reform, restore and the tories.

I didn't know cleaning your ears with cotton buds was a crime.
What am I supposed to clean them with?
Shall I return to that one finger nail I've managed to keep long?

Current . The inside of our ears are self cleaning. Using anything to clean them can damage them including the hairs that conduct sound. It will also push dirt into the ear.

likelysuspect · 21/06/2026 21:30

Inspired by another thread

I eat a lot of dairy and animal products included processed meats. Im not interested in people going on about dairy farming, chicken farming etc

I also swear a lot

I agree with correcting peoples SPAG on forums and calling out a possible fake posters. Shoot me.

Zov · 21/06/2026 21:30

I can see the cat people are the renegades and rebels on here. 😆

OK me.....

I eat food not cooked from scratch about 60% of the time.

I really like salad.

I don't drink copious amounts of wine (not drank alcohol for 2 years.)

I have no intention of ever 'embracing the grey' and I dye my hair (medium blonde) six times a year...

I will not answer the door if I don't know who it is. (Or I'm not expecting anyone or a delivery or anything.) I can see through one particular window who it is at the door (and they can't see me.) If it's a neighbour/someone I know, and I want to see them, I will answer. Otherwise no. Sometimes I am working (I work from home) and can't answer. If I was working in the office I couldn't answer could I?!

It's so odd to always answer IMO. It could be anyone: a scammer, a religious caller, someone trying to sell you something, a chugger, or just someone you really don't want to see. I actually find it bizarre that anyone ALWAYS answers the door to everyone who knocks. They must have a LOT of time on their hands, and really need the company!
