Heard of him? Probably not, because there seems to be an almost complete news blackout about him. Basically the police handcuffed him and let him bleed out because they thought he may have said something racist - he didn't, it was a lie told by his murderer. Henry was 18.

I was investigated at work (including police) because I told a (black) woman she wasn’t doing her job properly. Was exonerated when the evidence came to light - that she…wasn’t doing her job properly. But it was a truly harrowing experience.

It sounds like they are placating the murderer...'i don't think you have mate ' _then the female office says apologetically she has to check his face and her voice sounds kinder as she looks at him .

Henry's father has said that they did not even handcuff the murderer, even when taking him to the station.

But they handcuffed a mortally wounded boy bleeding on the floor and crying out for help.

Because of his skin colour.

I’m actually surprised that there haven’t been more of the Mumsnet apologist left on this thread.

They fell for his gift of the gab!

Fizbosshoes · Today 07:27

What was the premis that the police attended?
Why did the brother call the police anyway? (Was it in case someone else had called an ambulance.... so they had a cover story?)
But if the police arrive and the supposed victim is walking around, and apparently unhurt but someone else is lying on the floor unable to move (and breathe)....how on earth are they taking this at face value? Surely the first thing you do is check if they need medical attention?

This is such an awful case with a lot of victims and no winners. I feel terribly for Henry’s family.

The far right, and Reform, are trying to turn it into political capital for their ideology, aided by Elon Musk. That is dangerous.

Southampton was already in the grip of racial tension. My son is in first year uni there, and when we visited there were rival marches being held apart by rows of police in the city centre. Two (Asian) friends of my (white British) son have been followed home and abused.

I heard about the murder the day after it happened because the uni sent an email to all its students and staff, which my son forwarded. Given all of the above, I half expected the victim to be an international student or non-white British student. His identity was released several days later and it became clear that my perceptions were incorrect. It's a complex case and if there had been no mobile phone footage there may not have been a conclusive verdict.

But it is an isolated case. The far right should not gain traction from it.

It seems you are now considered far right if you protest against the death of an innocent white man

IsthataNo · Today 07:32

@Fizbosshoes I think the brother knew he was a nutter and dangeous and called the police to get them out for him .
Maybe he also did it to get a cover story in maybe both reasons.
The killer was moved away from some knife group becsuee of his behaviur so I think the family knew he had issues.

The issue here is the police and their actions. Hand cuffing a dying man because they heard the words ‘racism’ and not bothering to check for stab wounds when the boy is clearly not in a good way. All because they are brainwashed. If Henry had not been white, do you think they would still have handcuffed him and treated him this way after he actually told them he’d been stabbed and can’t breathe? I very much doubt it. And if they did, we would have weeks and months of social unrest to rival George Floyd.

JaneFondue · Today 07:35

This vile Dickwa family have truly brought shame to the entire community and lit a fuse.
The police behaviour: I have no words. If a man is lying on the ground in distress, surely you check on him first.

Getting this Labour government out might be a start. The most tolerant, welcoming country on earth is rotten to the core with woke ideology.

This.

How could there not have been a conclusive verdict when the victim was stabbed repeatedly in the back by a knife known to belong to the assailant, while the assailant wasn’t injured at all? It doesn’t take mobile phone footage (or Sherlock Holmes) to work out what happened there.

Or he and the brother were trying to set it up to look like self defence after being racially attacked (which there is no evidence happened)

He would have known he would be in trouble one way or another - even if Henry didn’t die he would have been done for attempted murder. Calling the police and accusing Henry of a racial attack was probably a way to cover tracks. It was done at the same time their mother was hiding the knife.

RonniePickering · Today 07:41

it’s a complex case

Nothing complex about it ffs.
One man has murdered another (unarmed) man and was instantly believed over the one on the ground, who was struggling to breathe with blood on his face and in his mouth.

Ndd1356387 · Today 07:42

The sad thing is. With the police force in the state it is in today I can see the exact same story playing out if a woman were punched in the head by a man in a dress. The t word would be uttered and the dying woman would be handcuffed.

I just heard someone on the radio say something about the far right - but I didn't understand the point they were trying to make there either.

@dumptiso the example of your son’s friends is not isolated but this is? What’s your proof of that?
