How much washing have you got done today?

Just for fun! We’ve just got back from holidays and I’m on my 4th load of washing. 1st load already dry and put away thanks to the lovely sunshine.

how much washing have you got done? I feel like I’m in competition with myself to try and wash all our clothes whilst it’s so nice!

The wash cycle on my washer is 3 hours so I would have to get up at the crack of dawn to have 4 loads done by 3pm!

My first (and probably only) load for today is still in the washing machine.

There hasn’t been so much as a sock in my laundry basket for more than 3 hours since the heatwave started

This is where I want to be this afternoon 🤣

I am so on top of the laundry because of this beautiful weather. Got a load of whites bleaching in the sun at the moment :D

tiramisugelato · 28/05/2026 16:10

Only one as I did about five loads on Monday and Tuesday Grin

Alwaystired23 · 28/05/2026 16:11

I've done 2 today, and it's all dry. There's no washing left at all. I was hunting for things to make up to a second load, so I put the dc dressing gowns in as well.

ShetlandishMum · 28/05/2026 16:12

None.
I have 3 loads for tomorrow.

ithinkilikethislittlelife · 28/05/2026 16:14

I do a minimum of a wash a day and because of the weather it’s ironed and put away all in the same day. Tragic but I bloody love it 🤦🏻‍♀️

Honestly sounds like bliss to me 🤣

I have 3 loads left to do! The terrors of going on holiday with a full wash basket and then coming home with all the dirty holiday clothes too! Is it bad I’m enjoying the challenge 🤣

None - I do about two loads a week now if that. Even with three kids two adults it was maybe five/six loads a week.

Cookingandfoldingthings · 28/05/2026 16:20

Definitely dressing gown washing weather!

FolioQuarto · 28/05/2026 16:27

Three regular loads: duvet & sheet, towels, clothes. Just hunting down enough occasional stuff to make the most of the hot breeze. DHs dressing gown is almost a load in itself so I will not need much else.

This is the sort of weather where my mother would have gathered up the chair backs to wash. For anyone who's not ancient, these were special cloths about the size of a tea towel that you put on the back of your your sofa and arm chairs to protect them from hair cream etc. My mother's were beautifully hand embroidered.

i am quietly envious 🤦🏻‍♀️. I love doing a wash and putting it out in the sunshine, ironing it and putting it away. In this weather I find myself washing far more than necessary. I walk around the house just looking for things to wash 🤣

paintedpanda · 28/05/2026 17:44

None, everything was done in the last few days. It’s been bliss 😍

Antimacassars! I'm not ancient really. 😉

WinterFrogs · 28/05/2026 17:51

None today as I'm all caught up but this week I have done dressing gowns, set of curtains, shower curtain, spare bed sheets, two duvets and the cat's bed on top of the usual, which is normally three loads a week for two people. It's very rewarding isn't it?

midnight1331 · 28/05/2026 19:44

I’m hoping to get the rest done tomorrow so that I can feel very pleased with myself!

In our house it goes in the dryer regardless of weather, unless it’s a delicate. The cleaner did the bath towels and cleaning cloths. DH has the clothes to catch up on tomorrow (I’ll be at work).

HoraceCope · 28/05/2026 19:47

i do a load a day
my airing cupboard was rammed
i have just round to emptying it!

SemmaLina · 28/05/2026 19:48

One load , but just me and DH at home though ( and I’ve caught up with everything )

My record is when DH and I returned from a 26 night fabulous holiday , no washing done away at all , I did 11 washes in 2 days

ClassicalQueen · 28/05/2026 19:49

I’ve done a few loads of towels today! I was quite apprehensive as I usually tumble dry them, but adding white vinegar and then fluffing them up in the tumble dryer for 15 minutes they’re just as soft as usual. I’ve not had enough time to do a normal load of clothes yet. I’m hoping to get through that tomorrow.

aWeeCornishPastie · 28/05/2026 20:00

None at all I have a small load in a basket but I only do it when I can really
be bothered

Sgtmajormummy · 28/05/2026 20:08

I’ve done the equivalent of a load from start to finish today. I dry on a pulley airer in the utility room (no garden but it dries quickly).
Taken down, folded and put away one load, hung up another and I can hear one more finishing in the machine.
I do miss the crunchy freshness of sun dried laundry…
