It’s not even half 6 here. I’ve no idea yet 😂😂

Larrythecatforpm · 17/05/2026 06:19

Slow cooked Chicken casserole. Started it last night, forgot to put in the tomatoes & purèe so doing it now hopefully it doesn’t just taste of gravy 😂

I've been up since 03.18 (Insomnia is an arse).

Although i have realised I promised the Dcs battered tofu nuggets so might need a re-think anyway.

I’m having a pork loin steak with apple sauce, sweet potato mash, roasted carrots, tenderstem broccoli, asparagus and Yorkshire puddings. Looking forward to it already and I haven’t even had breakfast yet 😄

Buscake · 17/05/2026 07:21

We had a huge party buffet for Eurovision last night and I’ve woken up feeling so bloated and dehydrated! I will make grilled chicken/salmon with salad and air fried baby potatoes I think

DilemmaDelilah · 17/05/2026 08:51

I'm hoping... Cod in batter with lots of green beans and tomato ketchup.
What I think I will get.... A portion controlled ready meal with extra cabbage.

I made the mistake of ordering a LOT of ambient ready meals so I could keep track of portions and calories. Most of them are disgusting! Anything with mashed potato is especially disgusting. I was quite looking forward to the chicken in black bean sauce meal I thought I might have tonight - but I read the ingredients and it contains chilli. I can't eat chilli.

So - my advice is - by all means diet my way, by using portion controlled ready meals with extra veg - but don't get ambient meals. Buy chilled or frozen meals instead. Most of those are edible and the mashed potato is actually nice.

Bringyourfoldingchair · 17/05/2026 09:14

We’re having pork medallions and sausages, garlic roasted baby boils and whatever veg I can find in the fridge/freezer

Sheknowsaboutme · 17/05/2026 09:41

Jellybelly80 · 17/05/2026 09:45

Lamb shanks done in the slow cooker, potatoes, and vegetables yet to be decided.

Myfridgeiscool · 17/05/2026 09:49

Roast chicken thighs, roast potatoes, yorkies etc. It’s Sunday, it’s still cold, need a roast dinner.

AppleKatie · 17/05/2026 09:52

I’ve got a fridge full of meals for the week but I haven’t done the ‘best before date dance’ to work out the order we’ll eat them in. Maybe pork medallions though unless the chicken won’t keep 😅

mindutopia · 17/05/2026 10:23

Tonight we are having a roast, which we only do maybe every other month or so. We aren’t a roast every Sunday sort of family.

Pork joint with crackling (from our own farm raised pigs), roast potatoes, honey roast carrots, garlic kale, Yorkshire puds and apple sauce. Then I’m making a cherry clafoutis which we’ll have with custard or ice cream. Leftovers for tomorrow night too.

Domino211 · 17/05/2026 12:54

Big old roast chicken dinner with pigs in blankets, stuffing, bread sauce, yorkshires etc Both my teen DSs have exams and are working really hard but constantly starving so a nice comforting dinner to fill them up!

oooohhh........ cherry clafoutis. I adore it.

I've changed my mind AGAIN. DCs are having chinese marinated chicken from Aldi with baked jacket potatos and vegetables.

I'm having battered tofu with baby potatos and vegetables. I'm newly 100% plant based due to some kidney issues and chicken is my favourite thing so it will be a test.

Our second poster indicated deciding too early might be a mistake... she may have been right! Grin

Fish pie made from a recipe I found on Mumsnet years ago

ourSusie · 17/05/2026 13:53

shin beef casserole with carrots, onions, kidney beans, sloced potato on top with whole green beans and 3 large yorkshires each (never enough!)

we won’t have room for pud but a clafouti sounds good, we have cherries…

Raera · 17/05/2026 14:16

Brisket from the farm shop was bathed in red wine overnight and is currently in a slow oven.
It's got to be mash with that I think!

GuelderRoses · 17/05/2026 16:17

We're having Aldi cheese & dill salmon wellington, new potatoes, baby corn, peas & carrots, then raspberry trifle.

Flannelfeet · 17/05/2026 16:33

Homemade chicken bhuna, basmatti rice, poppadoms and mini garlic and coriander naans.

Wish the joiners would hurry up and finish so I can have it, im hank marvin!!

Motherofvoid · 17/05/2026 16:44

Chilli con carne with coriander and lime rice, salad, cheesey nachos with sour cream and homemade guacamole. I'll have a mojito and maybe a solero after. Loads of food but it's probably the first time I've cooked since losing my cat last month and I need the extra calories!

Favouritefruits · 17/05/2026 16:51

I really can’t be bothers to cook so it’s just a bog standard spag Bol! Nothing fancy and no garlic bread! It’s been a mad weekend

Arlanymor · 17/05/2026 16:51

Prezzo!

Lifestooshort71 · 17/05/2026 16:54

Aldi Wagyu burgers (the best ever!) in toasted Brioche burger buns, melted cheese, beef tom and choice of sauces, served with sweet potato fries. No pud (meant to be on a diet) but a large glass of white wine

birthdayfood · 17/05/2026 16:58

Turkish spiced pork belly, flatbreads, giant cous cous with red onions/ cucumber/ tomato/ parsley/ feta, and hummus. Can’t wait 😋
