Is anyone else addicted to Søstrene Grene?

I’m becoming an addict.

I love the sweets that they sell and the teas and the random pretty little things that they sell but that I really don’t need. The shops always smell so nice too.

I like to admire the craft stuff and pretend that one day I’ll try card making or crochet though I know that it’ll never happen.

Yes, I love it. So many pretty things that look so much more expensive than they are. I love the notebooks and pens, little dishes, soaps, everything really. I can spend a long time in there.

Mochudubh · 13/05/2026 20:33

I am, they're a slightly classier version of Flying Tiger, which I also love. Though I think a lot of SG stuff is made in China where as FT's seems mostly to be made in Denmark.

They remind me a bit of the long-defunct Internacional as well.

purpleme12 · 13/05/2026 20:35

No it's too neutral and boring for me

I love colour and brightness

user7666547 · 13/05/2026 20:36

My favourite shop

GellerYeller · 13/05/2026 20:37

I agree the sweets are excellent and it’s great for gifts. My beef, as with Flying Tiger, is you can’t pop in to grab something, because you’re corralled round the shop in the direction they choose, and inevitably get stuck behind a slowcoach.

Violetparis · 13/05/2026 20:37

I love it too, always buy my wrapping paper from there.

Camparispritzandcrisps · 13/05/2026 20:37

Fellow addict here - it's the bloody candles and glassware that gets me every time

IWasTangoed · 13/05/2026 20:37

Yes, I don't need anymore tiny flowery pretty things, but can't help buying something when in there

pepayfelix · 13/05/2026 20:38

The little gold teaspoons, the tiny pretty ramekins. ❤️ I bought two dinky little jugs for pouring maple syrup on pancakes. The craft stuff is superb as well.

topcat2014 · 13/05/2026 20:38

I follow a store manager on tiktok as she re does the store etc

VivienneDelacroix · 13/05/2026 20:39

I go for the flavoured dates and birthday cards.

ScrollingLeaves · 13/05/2026 20:39

Yes.

CookieDoughJoe · 13/05/2026 20:40

I’m going into town tomorrow and there are 2 SG stores just ten minutes walk apart which is a very dangerous situation for me.

I’m glad that I’m not alone in my love for SG even if they do get me to regularly spend money on things that I absolutely do not need.

I love it but have no idea how it’s pronounced so I can’t tell anyone 😳🫣

TallagallaPenguin · 13/05/2026 20:45

Absolutely love it. I got some really lovely big fake flowers from there too, lots of wrapping paper and napkins, and I love the Xmas hanging folding paper star decorations.
My sons go there to buy me birthday presents ❤️❤️. One of them has the tiny teaspoons from there cos he always likes a smaller spoon than any of us, and uses them for yoghurts. He’s 15 😆

OpheliaNightingale · 13/05/2026 21:43

I bought some gorgeous mini bunting the last time I was there. I strung it across my fanlight and it looks delightful from the road.

twilightcafe · 13/05/2026 22:08

I like their packs of paper napkins

ihearyoucalling · 13/05/2026 22:10

My son calls it the green sausage shop. We love it. I have just got a tea strainer cup and I forgot they do tea so I'll pop in on Friday I think.

hugoagogo · 13/05/2026 22:14

Why is everything flowery though? I do love it, but am always hunting for non floral patterns. <hard work>

weareallcats · 13/05/2026 22:18

I don’t like it that much tbh, it is mostly tat. I did get my dh some Harry Potter style reading glasses that were cheap and fun though and I do enjoy the music.

QAOPspaceman · 13/05/2026 22:40

Just the liquorice sweets but I can stop anytime I want

titchy · 13/05/2026 22:44

Love their Christmas baubles!

titchy · 13/05/2026 22:44

Love their Christmas baubles! Who doesn’t want an avocado bollock on their tree!

longtompot · 13/05/2026 22:49

I love their stuff but only seen it online. I wish we had a store here

PinoirNot · 13/05/2026 22:53

I loved it when it first opened, I took a trip to Nottingham around 2015/16 and I believe it was the first in the country. It was such good value back then, but now they’ve opened up all over the place and they’re so much more expensive than they were, and the quality has gone downhill too.

I know everything has gone up in the last 10 years but most of these prices are more than double or even triple what they were. Such a shame!
