Is anyone else addicted to Søstrene Grene?

I’m becoming an addict.

I love the sweets that they sell and the teas and the random pretty little things that they sell but that I really don’t need. The shops always smell so nice too.

I like to admire the craft stuff and pretend that one day I’ll try card making or crochet though I know that it’ll never happen.

I bought a brillant book of Christmas tags and labels. Did every present and cost me about £2. Total bargain. I have too many of its attractively Scandi wooden and metal spoons. But I too am haunted by not being able to pronounce it properly after I saw someone jeering online at people not being to say the name 🙃 and others chiming in sneeringly.

I like their stationery, the baking things and any other random bits I don’t know I want need until I pop in there. I’ve noticed though that some branches are huge multi-levelled set ups, but actually don’t seem to sell anything more than the small ones?

ManufacturedConcerns · 13/05/2026 23:05

I love it but there isn't one locally sadly. I've always loved Tiger too, although that's not as cheap as it used to be.

My appointment took much longer than expected today so I didn’t have much time to look around SG today, only to grab some liquorice for my Mum and some tea for myself. I got some organic black tea with mango and pineapple and the same but with passion fruit and lime. Hopefully they taste as good as they sound. I’ll be taking this thread on my next visit though so that I can buy some of the other items that fellow SG lovers have mentioned.

My friend loves it, I find it makes me itchy to leave. I don’t like clutter and it just feels overwhelming.

I have bought crochet hooks and notebooks in there. I feel a lot of stuff will end up as clutter at the back of the press. I admit cute clutter but clutter all the same.

keepswimming38 · 14/05/2026 16:45

Bought two things last month. They have both gone in the bin. It’s tat quite honestly!

There’s one near my office that lures me in regularly but mostly leave with nothing.
it’s all very twee and floral (but in sad drab colours) and doesn’t really match my house at all, lots of nik naks that I don’t have at home. I have bought napkins, gift bags and tags but the gift bag colours are just so very drab/sad generally.
And I hate the one way shop, I just want to go in and get what I need and get out, not do a route march of every bit of tat they sell!
Must just stop going in there really 😂

TheBeaTgoeson1 · 14/05/2026 17:08

No, the tat level is 10/10

Twokittenchaos · 14/05/2026 17:29

Love it. Makes me think my home will be all danish and hygge, when in reality it’s just adding to the clutter but the bits & bobs bring me joy.

bestcatlife · 14/05/2026 17:54

Yes. But Dille and Kamille is very similar and probably my favourite. Has anyone been? (They have shops in Europe) if you’re a fan of SG you have to visit D&K ❤️

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 14/05/2026 18:11

It all looks very nice but TBH it seems to me to be largely a lot of pretty, itsy bitsy things that are mostly useless and will just add to clutter and gather dust.

Lovely notebooks and clipboards - always a nice shop for a look around.

Please dont use this dudes English Pronunciation its awful. Stick with SG. The Danish is pretty good. I grew up in Denmark and know the shop well however no I am not obsessed. Like it for napkins, liquorice lollopops. Sometimes yarn. Dd2 loves it for all sort of stuff but she is very quite stuff focused.

Jeering? But then what does it matter ? They are probably ignorant on more important things in life that actually matter.

CrushingOnRubies · 15/05/2026 18:34

I love that shop. Nearest shop is a few hours away - which my wallet is thankful for. But going to the Norwich shop in a couple of weeks and I can’t wait.

onmylastnerveseriously · 15/05/2026 19:18

Gosh no absolute tat

FoxandDuck · 15/05/2026 19:42

When DH and the DC are annoying me and I am mentally planning my alternative life in a cottage by the sea, it features a lot of stuff from SG. If I bring anything from there (and a lot of other places for that matter!), DH just mutters about tat.
