Okayyyy...

She said she hated high gas prices, but feared the prospect of a nuclear-armed Tehran even more. “It's just where we are with this war," she said. "People just have to give it time."
Did she have any red lines? Anything that might shake her faith in Trump's handling of the war or the economy?
"No," she said. "I'm all on board."

Who the fook is that supposed to be in the background?

Iranian ships looking rather menacing.

The ships he said they don't have.

It could really be a recruitment poster . The Iranian Navy want you. Just change the bloke.

Like the attached ? I should have done the hat too, but ach, my powerpoint skills are limited. In fact, I don't even use real powerpoint.

According to Google AI, it's a 'generic image of an Admiral'.

Stolen valor ?

I used US spelling for that. This one ?

COMPS-10517.pdf (govinfo.gov)

The Stolen Valor Act of 2013 . I expect all the repugs will be up in arms about it. IMPEECH !

"SEC. 2. FRAUDULENT REPRESENTATIONS ABOUT RECEIPT OF MILITARY DECORATIONS OR MEDALS. (a) IN GENERAL.—Section 704 of title 18, United States Code, is amended— (1) in subsection (a), by striking ‘‘wears,’’; and (2) so that subsection (b) reads as follows: ‘‘(b) FRAUDULENT REPRESENTATIONS ABOUT RECEIPT OF MILITARY DECORATIONS OR MEDALS. Whoever, with intent to obtain money, property, or other tangible benefit, fraudulently holds oneself out to be a recipient of a decoration or medal described in subsection (c)(2) or (d) shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than one year, or both.’’. (b) ADDITION OF CERTAIN OTHER MEDALS.—Section 704(d) of title 18, United States Code, is amended— (1) by striking ‘‘If a decoration’’ and inserting the following: ‘‘(1) IN GENERAL. If a decoration’’; (2) by inserting ‘‘a combat badge,’’ after ‘‘1129 of title 10,’’; and (3) by adding at the end the following: ‘‘(2) COMBAT BADGE DEFINED. In this subsection, the term ‘combat badge’ means a Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Combat Action Badge, Combat Medical Badge, Combat Action Ribbon, or Combat Action Medal.’’. "

@RedTagAlan

'Stolen Valour' (UK spelling lol) is pretty much limited to wearing certain medals or claiming to have certain awards for financial or other gain. And to be successfully prosecuted you must have succeeded in doing so. For example, a person could wear their deceased father's or husband's Purple Heart as long as they didn't try to gain anything by it. I don't know of anyone who would actually do that, other than perhaps 'in memoriam' at a Memorial or Veteran's Day service.

Lying about being in the service or 'embellishing' one's service record simply to 'impress' people isn't a crime. Pathetic, but not a crime. It's actually considered 'protected speech' under the 1st amendment. It's also 'legal' to wear a military uniform as long as you don't do so for gain, like getting a military discount or similar. But people who lie to 'big themselves up' are usually regarding with disgust and face social consequences, including job loss.

Ahh. So Meal Team 6 are safe then :-)

Or are they called Dolphin Team 6 these days?

Apparently there's going to be a meeting on the Sit. Room on Tuesday. Good to know there's a sense of urgency ...

As long as the orange loon and his family remain personally unaffected there will never be a sense of urgency.

Busy posting AI images tonight,

Spandauer · 17/05/2026 23:18

Yes - each one more ludicrous than the one before it.

It's only a month away from his bigly birthday celebrations and the wrestling/cage fighting/ UFC event on the WH lawn.

The WH is just another tacky Trump property now. Like turning Buck House into a Mecca Bingo Hall.

I know UFC is mega theatrical but is it like UK 1980s wrestling with them all dressing up and scripted fights? I'm imagining fighters wearing Stars and Stripes pummeling conveniently brown opponents with outfits marking them as "Iran". It will be blatant propaganda with extra sweat and yelling

Spandauer · 18/05/2026 08:32

I think the contestants wear normal, regulated sports kit for the actual fighting.

But I read that there's lots of posturing, posing and dressy-uppy before the fights.

Don't know about the staged moves etc. Not my bag, as they say 😂

Could we have a Cage Fight with Trump and the Ayatollah in the cage? I'd pay good money for that.

@BruceAndNosh and @placemats your two posts together have given me the most extraordinary image of this very cage fight taking place at dawn in a haze of piss-steam! Marvellous start to the day and following with both protagonists dead on the mat, one hopes. 😂

Is anything going to happen this week?
It feels like this is now IT. And nothing is moving, bar lots of ordinary folk are going hungry, cold and whatelse....
They just posture and threaten and shoot here and there. But they do bugger all. Nada. Nil. Nothing.
They have no shame.
Congress has no voice and, for the look of it, no balls.

UK, we are following..... still major chaos here. Starmer may or may not fall, any minute now.

TemporarilyCantDoMyself · 18/05/2026 13:29

@MushMonster I am not optimistic. For the situation, for humanity, for anything. I think we're seeing the inevitable outcome of millenia of male dominance. Men are powerful and drunk on power and lack maturity and compassion, on the whole. NAMALT obviously but the ones who gain power and control largely are, and there's fuck all the rest of us; most women, children, the other men, can do about it because power is, well, power. Sorry to be such a bloody doom-monger.

RedTagAlan · 18/05/2026 13:35

Wee snippets that are interesting. CNN:

"On the US side, Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe and special envoy Steve Witkoff all attended the Saturday meeting at the president’s Virginia golf club, the source familiar said. The gathering occurred just hours after Trump arrived back in Washington from a high-stakes visit to China, a nation with close ties to Iran."

So he comes back from China, heads to his Virginia golf club instead of the WH, and holds a meeting.

But he wants a billion bucks for his ballroom security features. Another billion on his Qatar jet for security. Yet he keeps holding these meetings in his clubs. Places that are open to the fee paying public.

Of course he will be making big money by holding meetings in his clubs.

Mushroom size ?

That could be an interesting study. Mushroom size of male world leaders V nuttiness. Is the mushroom size connected to the nuts in some way ?

So far there does seem to be a correlation. But the sample size is only one.

But hey, sample size of one is enough for me.

:-)

Ufc/mma is 'real' in that outcome is unknown: professional wrestling (WWE/AEW) Is scripted and tells stories, but is 'real' as in athletic, and hard,as the bumps/falls you take can really do them harm

Douglas Adams had it right: wanting power should automatically disqualify you from getting it
