@DuncinToffee I saw that reported this morning. Him and his girlfriend. Utterly disgusting and disrespectful, treating it as a holiday jolly.
I cannot fathom how it was allowed, there are such strict protocols around war graves.
The only people allowed to dive the Arizona are conservationists and divers who are taking ashes of Arizona survivors down to be placed in there per their final wishes.

It might all be the result of heightened tensions after Trump's less than stellar trip to China, and his need for a show of power to maintain his bigly image, but there's speculation in the Caribbean that US will soon launch an assault on Cuba.
The lack of oil and food in Cuba is now leading to rioting, so the US will be the white knight riding in to rescue Cubans from the conditions they caused.

Trump might want Cuba.
Cuba might want an improvement in their lot.
But that doesn't equal Cuba wanting Trump.
See Venezuela, Iran...
Is he really going to go for the hat-trick of havoc? Can't someone stop him?
It's a rhetorical question. I cannot think of how he's going to be stopped. He is a fucking menace.

That’s very restrained of you, @TemporarilyCantDoMyself Grin I have many more words, bigly braggadocious words, to describe the fucking menace that he truly is. “Lily-liver'd, action-taking, whoreson, glass-gazing, superserviceable, finical rogue;” and "Whoreson zed, unnecessary letter”. being my favourite Shakespearean epithets to apply to him Grin
I like "hat-trick of havoc" very much!

Maybe he was told of the one China principle that has been in place since the PRC replaced the ROC. UN resolution 2758 of 1971.

And maybe he found out about the PRC anti accession law of 2005.

Biden was good on this. He said ok to the one China principle, but that the US would defend Taiwan in the event of an invasion. He was clear on the latter.

I suspect Trump knew nowt about it.

Putin is going to meet Uncle Xi soon.

From PRC state media Global Times. I wont link cos it's short.

"At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a state visit to China from May 19 to 20, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson announced on Saturday."

I will link this State media article though. The Party seem happy with what Trump said about the ROC. Stuff like this can be interesting to compare with rest of the world news.

Trump reportedly warns Taiwan island not to expect a 'blank check' from US military, 'not looking to have somebody go independent'; Chinese expert says separatist forces are left behind by broader trend - Global Times

The resolution 2758 is interesting. Here it is:

"Recalling the principles of the Charter of the United Nations, Considering that the restoration of the lawful rights of the People’s Republic of China is essential both for the protection of the Charter of the United Nations and for the cause that the United Nations must serve under the Charter,Recognizing that the representatives of the Government of the People’s Republic of China are the only lawful representatives of China to the United Nations and that the People’s Republic of China is one of the five permanent members of the Security Council, Decides to restore all its rights to the People’s Republic of China and to recognize the representatives of its Government as the only legitimate representatives of China to the United Nations, and to expel forthwith the representatives of Chiang Kai-shek from the place which they unlawfully occupy at the United Nations and in all the organizations related to it. "

Here is what the PRC say it says:

Funny enough, I just re-read Animal Farm this week. That Orwell fella was spot on with many things.

On a lighter note, last night’s episode of “Have I Got News for You”, hosted by Victoria Coren, on BBC One/an iPlayer close to you, made mention of Trump (just to be relevant), and was one of the wittiest news programmes I’ve watched in a long time.

I have no idea. He likely had to do X number of words and thought that sounded clever ?

State media do this all the time. Get a few words from experts. But they are all Party. I think it's to emulate western news. But these are not independent academics. Argument from authority?

Odd thing is, the image looks like a storm to me. It's not calm.

He can't even caption an image without it being contradictory.

Other odd bits: Iranian ships and boats. He said he sunk them all. Should it not be US ships ? An admirals uniform with wing badges ?

Baffles me.
