Ah me too, made me cry, all the lovely animals! ❤️

WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLady · 09/05/2026 07:26

It’s beautiful. The sentiment, the concept and the production. This is the sort of thing we do so well. Tiny irritation that it’s Take That and I find that song massively overused but who knows it might be his favourite so parking my cynicism.

Perrygreen · 09/05/2026 07:32

This was done deliberately to make me cry 😂. (Wildlife lover, see username). Nice touch with the envelope turning up tatty.

Globules · 09/05/2026 07:36

Agree that it's the sort of thing we do well @WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLady Reminded me of some of the great videos the Queen took part in through the years.

Love that DA holds up the tatty envelope in the RAH.

DeposedPresident · 09/05/2026 07:38

Gosh, how lovely.

What a truly great man he is.

Roads · 09/05/2026 07:43

It was so simple and so perfectly executed we really do things like that very well in this country. Not too over the top and yet still so impactful. ❤️

FirstdatesFred · 09/05/2026 07:44

I’m so impressed how he got up and down from his chair at the end, looking good for 100 😆

HoraceCope · 09/05/2026 07:45

yes that too. As someone aged 53 riddled with arthritis I find that inspiring also and makes me want to Make Changes.

What a man. We are so lucky to have him.

HoraceCope · 09/05/2026 07:47

he does look good for 100

Thanksforyourlackofthought · 09/05/2026 07:52

Thanks for sharing that. Absolutely lovely. Have a great day. 🐾

Reportingfromwherever · 09/05/2026 08:01

Aaaah lovely. Thanks OP

TokyoSushi · 09/05/2026 08:04

Oh how absolutely lovely!

I really wasn’t particularly keen on Prince Charles but he has very much grown on me as King. A lovely job all round.

Tallestone · 09/05/2026 08:11

That was lovely I shed a little tear

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 09/05/2026 08:15

The Kings message didn't make me cry, lovely as it was but the entire Royal Albert Hall getting to it's feet to sing happy birthday to Sir David and the look of humble joy on his face during it had me in floods.

FungibleAssets · 09/05/2026 08:16

It’s like a Werther’s Original ad meets The Wind in the Willows (and far more like a party political broadcast on behalf of the royals than DA.

Hard not to compare what DA has been doing in all the decades since they first met and what Charles has been doing…

MorphingintoMargo · 09/05/2026 08:21

Lovely. What a great man.
Also a reminder of what a beautiful country we live in.

shellyleppard · 09/05/2026 08:21

That is absolutely lovely 😍 happy birthday to sir David!! I've watched him all my life and so have my sons. A true inspiration ❤️

pilates · 09/05/2026 08:23

Reminded me of some of the great videos the Queen took part in through the years.

And I expect the King took a moment to think that they might have been doing something similar for her.

Hard not to compare what DA has been doing in all the decades since they first met and what Charles has been doing…

You mean all the decades Charles has been talking about the environment and nature, and been ridiculed for it before it became a fashionable cause?
(And Philip too.)

Bryonyberries · 09/05/2026 08:44

That was lovely, he is doing so well at 100 years.

His wildlife series captivated me as a young child and still do now. He directly influenced my love and interest in the natural world and I’m still interested today, 50 years later. The amazing thing is he was 50 (my age today) when I was born!

Meeb · 09/05/2026 08:50

Oh thank you for sharing, I hadn’t seen this 🥹 it’s just made me feel very emotional! What an absolute treasure he is!

Monthlymonster · 09/05/2026 08:52

Loved this last night and like already said, it’s the kind of the we do so well in this country.

I was in tears several time during last nights celebration of SDA.
