On the back of this thread I have just watched the BBC tribute which was just glorious.

I do think it was lovely and very well done. (Although I do think it’s a shame the royal connection with corgis has passed with QEII, it’s lovely the King seems to have always had dogs himself.)

I think he was genuinely moved at the singing of Happy Birthday. And his recitation of It's a Wonderful World was .... wonderful. He has a lovely speaking voice; I wonder if he could have been an actor, like his brother?

More people should be like David. The world would be a better place. Calm and Kind and not flashy or show off.

I remember Charles being ridiculed when he said he spoke to his plants- he's always been an advocate for the environment. I hope Sir David had a great birthday and has many more. I loved the hedgehog.

Indeed there are many things one may dislike about king Charles but his love of nature and belief in environmental issues is something which cannot be dismissed. I'm sure he and Sir David have had many interesting conversations about the topic over the years.

I too shed a tear for the lovely video and was also impressed how Sir David, at 100, stood up so easily from his chair. What an inspiration.

I loved it too, enjoyed the Harry Potter nod with the owl at the end.
