You think RICHARD MADELEY is pretty?!!!!

😄😄😄😩😩

Is he not a pretty boy?

Not hot or manly, just pretty and happy to wear make up

Not a surprise to me. They've had rocky times over the years. And why celebrities bother getting married is beyond me-most end up divorced.

FlatErica · 09/05/2026 21:57

The northern comedian and the woman from Cagney and Lacey?

Michael mcintyre described him as 'very tv'

I feel like that means, pretty, dumb, follows the autocue and stands where hes told 😩

Yet unlike many daytime TV presenters, Richard Madeley is a trained journalist. Many are former models or reality TV stars.

Is that because hugh is gay?

Because he was having an affair with sitting Foster and about 3 weeks after he spilt he went public with her. So disappointing from Hugh

mumofoneAloneandwell · 09/05/2026 21:49

😄😩

Not hot or sexy - but TV pretty, why not?!

I think he looks a bit too rumpled to be pretty but I'm not adverse to describing him as sexy!

Crucible · 10/05/2026 09:09

mumofoneAloneandwell · 09/05/2026 21:54

Is that because hugh is gay?

...no...because it transpired that he was seeing Sutton Foster. DLF released a later statement about the betrayal.

He’s a notorious sleaze: it’s been an open secret in TV land for decades.

She has probably been having affairs for years bur discreetly and with classier people.

I can’t believe the “growing apart” has only just happened.

I would put money on a story coming out in tomorrow’s papers about an infidelity or him having checked into the Priory to dry out.

Yes it’s well known in TV and Radio land that Kay is a well known sleeze and not nice to work with.
Many people were astonished when he was given the R2 slot, especially after all the long standing “issues” with BBC males, Brand, Edwards and Tim Westwood to name a few.

It’s almost as if the BBC don’t really care 🤨

LizzieSiddal · 10/05/2026 09:32

I know several people who work in First Class for an airline. Kay frequently goes on “Lads” holidays, he openingly talks about what he’s going to get up to when he’s away. He’s an old sleezebag.

Luddite26 · 10/05/2026 09:38

When are Mumsnet going to bring us back the laughing emoji and give us a throwing up type emoji which I would like to use on some of these comments Vernon Kay 🤮

He seems like he would be easy to get on with though? Whenever they’ve done Loose men or he’s presented This morning, he seems to be easy to get on

You can’t really make deductions about someone’s real personality from watching them present a few TV programmes.

What accent do you have? And don’t say you don’t have an accent. Everyone has an accent: Received Pronunciation is one.

Cockney

Threeslothsontheshirt · 10/05/2026 10:02

Cockney

An interesting one for sure, not least because it’s a dying linguistic form. But not quite as rich and colourful as an accent from up north with its own vocab and grammar systems running alongside it.

It’s definitely a dying linguistic form. I’m SE London so whilst (probs owing to my age) I use some rhyming slang I imagine that’s not used too often now in the East End of London.

It absolutely is and was as rich and had its own vocab and grammar but its not heard now, apart from my dad and people like him. He's nearly 90 though. I cant help but use usual words that I grew up with and people dont always know what I mean.

Very cool! The studies show that in London there are generational divides. The younger people are using multicultural London English tracing back to Caribbean roots irrespective of their own individual heritage. So cockney and MLE are co-existing in the same London household with different age groups having a different dialect.

Yes I believe that’s true. My maternal grandparents were from Poplar, Isle of Dogs and my other gps were from South London (Camberwell). My sons went to school in Greater London and ds2 doesn’t speak like me although ds1 does. He’s a London black cabbie so I suppose it’s obligatory 🤣

I know right. I'm baffled at anyone saying he's hot, fanciable, and gorgeous. I'm just not seeing it! 😖

icepop2 · 10/05/2026 11:43

I think she only stayed this long for the kids, youngest is 16 now i think.

They cared enough to chuck Scott Mills.

Twonewcats · 10/05/2026 14:01

So....one of the tabloids is talking about something that may or may not be connected.
Affair between woman - well known British TV celebrity - and a sportsman. Both married.
