Good morning all! What's everyone up to today?

lucysmam · Today 09:10

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my conservatory spot. The cats have had breakfast & I can hear the girls playing with girl cat. Boy cat's gone to see what's going on. The washer's on for uniform and work stuff, I've put last night's pots to soak, and had a tidy round in the kitchen.

I'm off for a wander of the big B&M today. I want new tea/coffee/sugar pots to go with the newly decorated kitchen (if they have any), and some more gloss paint. B&M will tell me the rest of my list 🤣. I'll pick up some gold and silver markers from The Works nearby while I'm there.

Dd1's at work so isn't coming - she wants to go to top up some bits before heading back to London but we'll do that another day.

Dd2 is currently scrolling Vinted for gold heels, after picking her prom dress yesterday 😊. She's gone for a teal/green colour & it fits like it was made for her! Just needs <that> much off the bottom once she has her shoes on.

When I'm back, I'll sand either the bookshelf I want to re-vamp for the conservatory, the filler at the end, or both 🤔 so I can carry on painting tomorrow. I've invited a few friends for drinks in a fortnight so would like it sort of done by then.

Tea is leftover Chinese takeaway with a couple of glasses of wine. Then chill for what's left of the evening before bed so I'm up early ish tomorrow.

What about all of you? 🙂

Morning all, back from a glorious swim in the sunshine, boys have gone off to football and won’t be back until about 5pm.
I’m going to make a cake and have a wander into town, saw a dress in Oliver Bonas that I want to try on and hopefully buy plus I’m still seeking ‘the perfect pair of trainers’… also looking to dye my eyebrows for the first time so will buy something to do that and hope it’s not too difficult 😂
Dc1 is at her boyfriends but will be home at some point today, dc2 is back at uni and the youngest is, as I said, out all day with his dad.
Saturdays are secretly my favourite day because I pretty much have it to myself. And feeling a bit sad that this is the end of football season for this reason and this reason alone 🫣

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · Today 10:37

I have just got back from a swim. It was the first time this season for me that the water temp was high enough for a longer swim so I swam to a pontoon and celebrated by jumping in. Rather chilly on the head going under but so good!

I'm now making pancakes for a late breakfast.

There is lots to do in the garden and allotment so I'll be doing some of that today and I have my appraisal at work on Monday and as usual I have not put my training etc on to our stupid system as I did it so I have a year worth of cpd, reflections, service improvement projects and so on to put on the system this weekend! Oops.

My husband is out today so I can't go anywhere. The idiot didn't put the washing line up before he left so even though I did a wash load overnight i can't put it out, might make the most of the solar panels and tumble dry it. I have sorted and put away the clean, dry clothes, I am about to have a shower and procrastinate as much as possible before I admit defeat and have to continue writing my essay. I have 895 words of a 1800 word essay due on Tuesday. I may order in lunch.

Thislittlekitten · Today 10:49

Morning @lucysmam and Saturday Squad.

We all managed a bit of a lie in today. Been a full on week. Just had tea and bacon roll in bed. About to get ready and take out DDog and drop off DS at a club.

Really not much planned this weekend. DD has friends coming over and I need to do some work but will do it at a slow pace.

Need some inspiration for tea tonight.

gingercat02 · Today 10:52

Morning all,
Grey, still Saturday here, after a week of blue skies and a biting wind!
Just come in from a dance class I love but don't very often get to 🥲 it was lovely and I remembered most of the steps.
DH is out on his bike, DS is in bed.
DH put a wash on before he went out so I'll hang that out after my shower. Our cleaner has decided to give up his business so didn't come yesterday, so I need to give the bathrooms a once over at some point too.
Lunch once everyone is up/home. I'm going to my Mum's this afternoon to help her with some health stuff and life admin.
There is football on TV at teatime so a lateish meal, a few wines and catch up on GBM and Masterchef later.

JacknDiane · Today 11:03

Im still in bed, just had my tea and toast. Washing is ready to be hung out. Weather looks lovely 😍

Ooohhhh, ordering in lunch on a Saturday is the height of decadence to me. What will you get?

I quite fancy a Subway. If I could get my scooter out I would happily ride up there just to get out of the house but we don't have ramps yet.

Kim82 · Today 11:07

Good morning everyone. Just me and dd11 here today, dh is at work til 3pm ish. It’s a lovely, sunny day here so as I was up super early (5.55am) I’ve managed to get 2 loads of washing done and out on the line. The house is tidy, I’ve cleaned the upstairs bathroom and dusted downstairs and put my Tesco delivery away. I’m absolutely full of a cold (rang in sick to work yesterday as I felt dreadful) but at least my temperature is back to normal today so that’s something. I’m going to make an early lunch soon then drop dd11 off at dance as she has a comp tomorrow so the teacher is dragging them all in for last minute practice for 2.5 hours this afternoon. I’ll come home, hoover and mop all the floors and nip to Costco to full the car up, then set off back to pick dd11 up at 2.30pm - that’s if she comes out on time, punctuality is not her dance teacher’s strong point 😂. She then has an eye test in town and whilst out we need to pick up more makeup for her to use at her comp tomorrow. Back home for tea, dd has asked me to make some sort of fried chicken recipe she’s seen online so hopefully that’ll be nice, no idea what to have it with, maybe wraps and salad?

Then it’s an evening in front of the tv with dh and an early night as we’re up at 6am tomorrow ready to leave at 7.30am. Joy!

HangryBrickShark · Today 11:12

Brought in my horse from being out overnight along with three others belonging to friends. Raced over to Slimming World - weighed and put on 1lb😬

Then rushed home to do weekly supermarket shop, and hair cut. Home in a bit, quick tidy of house, lunch. Then a spot of gardening before back up to the yard to turn out, skip out, feed and poo pick in the sun.

Be grateful if that sounds like a foreign language - horse ownership isn't glam!

Then probably shoot off to gym to sit in jacuzzi and do knee exercises as I've sprained my MCL in my knee. Also need to walk through water (no I'm not a Messiah) for resistance work to try and start gaining muscles in my legs that support my knee that WLI have destroyed.

Every cloud though, I might have lost muscle but I've also lost nearly 4 stone in weight! 😅

Staying in as I look radioactive due to rosacea flareup

ButterYellowHair · Today 11:14

I baked a sourdough boule, sadly it’s the first one that’s disappointed me in its rise. Shouldn’t have cold proofed. I’ve been for a walk, posted some parcels and now going to make strawberry cake for a friend who is visiting for dinner.

wiwaprwfimh70 · Today 11:24

Morning all. I've just got in from the hairdressers, foils and cut. Dp hoovered the downstairs whilst I was out, which is good of him as he doesn't live here.
Cuddled under the throw MN-ing at the moment as dp searches for shirts online for our holidays next week. I've put things in my basket from NEXT of what I want to order when I get paid- just hope it's in stock. We may go out for a stroll and bite to eat later (but I really can't be bothered! As have ddad's funeral Thursday so my enthusiasm for partaking in activities is running at an all time low).

OchreSwan · Today 12:06

Morning all (or afternoon I should say)! Exceptionally late start for me this morning after a work event in a different city last night meant I didn’t get home until the early hours. Just had a lovely dishoom-inspired cooked breakfast and lazing on the sofa watching the snooker. Will get in the shower for a good scrub and hair wash shortly.

Then just a homey day of tackling chores (house is a tip after a busy week where DP and I both seemed to be in and out on very different schedules!). Will pop to shop and maybe get pizzas for dinner, as I have a voucher for a free one from my Waitrose ‘little treats’. Then more snooker this evening and probably quite an early night!

Have a lovely day all.

Megsdaughter · Today 12:37

May I join in? I always read these threads and love them. So calming and enjoyable.

Didnt get up till 10 as DH has passed me his awful cold ( he is so nice like that). I have Lupus and Fibromyalgia and anythibg like a cold can send me into a Flare so feeling sorry for myself.

I'm now sat in the garden room with the sun streaming in drinking hot blackcurrent. I cant take cold remedies as I take to many other meds but the blackcurrent is soothing.

Once I showered I put on new summer trousers and top. Ive lost almost 7st this year and nothing I had last year fitted so i was saving hard and did a shop in Matalan this week. Didnt know myself buying a 16/14.

Wont be doing anything tiday as my head feels like it might burst which is a shame as I was going to a Blossom Day Fete later. Will be sorry to miss it.

Dinner tonight will be what ever DH wants to cook as he took over the cooking as I got more disabled. He enjoys it and has becone a brilliant cook. He looks after me so well.

Phoned DGD1 as it was her 30th Birthday yesterday, but couldnt get through to her then. Sounds like she had a full day. We sent her Cake in a Card with strict instructions she was to eat it not the 3 DGGC 😉

It will be an early night I think after watching this weeks episode of Outlander. Only 2 more and the Series finishes. Ive been readingvtge books since they came out so have enjoyed it. DH puts up with it 😄.

I’m going back to a shop to order an electric bike this morning, DH is having one as well. We are both cyclists but my health issues means I need a bit of help now. They are to go in our Motorhome. We will also start to plan the route we are taking for a six week trip, friends have just got back to me this morning as we are visiting two lots on our travels. I did a bit of t’ai chi in the garden at 6am and had some tea.

I have an ex colleague mate popping round for coffee. She will relay the current state of the Univeristy I used to work in and give me the gossip. We will probably have a BBQ this evening as it’s nice again. I also hope to fit in another episode of a box set.

I’m a bit late so good afternoon! I had a poor nights sleep so I’ve been up early. Dc had maths tutor earlier ready for gcse prep. I’m just waiting for my youngest to finish sports practice and then I’ll drop him to the skate park to see friends. While I go to the good bakery! I’ve been to Sainsbury’s for a top up shop. Busy morning I need a nap! I’ve got a new outdoor sofa which I’m quite pleased about as the weather is nice so hoping to make use of that later!

TheeNotoriousPIG · Today 13:40

@Fraughtmum Me, too! I am on medication for that, and I know that it can take a long time for it to work, but I am yet to see as much of a difference as it made after laser treatment (I can't have laser and medications at the same time).

After sorting my animals out, I went for a bath and washed my hair. I read a chunk of my latest book. I have some laundry in and more to do, and put out, but at least I don't have to worry about the cooking. I made coq au vin in the slow cooker last night, so it's leftovers for dinner. Hopefully, I can do my gardening once it cools down a bit outside.

SuitcaseAndSecrets · Today 14:00

Resting.. had a full day out in York yesterday. Although lots of rests with lunch etc it still took it's toll on me ( spinal surgery booked for August).
Had egg on toast for brunch.. throwing a fresh butchers burger in air fryer for tea ( bought in York) will have with salad in a teacake.
Loads recorded to watch on telly.
Will be seeing loads of my family over the weekend.. daughters and teenage Grandsons.

Clockinginat2pm · Today 14:07

Today is an AWSOME day!
Sun is out, it’s 17 degrees
ive cut my lawn, strimmed the edges, tidied up my front garden and noticed flower buds on a half dead plant I bought last year which I planted and hoped for the best!
jet washed the back steps which have come up a treat.

2 loads of washing done, on the line.

picked up my HRT & slapped the first patch on fingers crossed these awful night sweats will calm down and let me sleep…

Done a spot of goodies shopping and got a bargain meal deal due to expire today for my tea.

Cleaned the kitchen, hoovered all downstairs.

Productive, sunny, warm and lovely day!

mamaduckbone · Today 14:47

I’m late to the thread today but happy sunny Saturday @lucysmam and all.
I went for my morning trot and chat first thing, then knuckled down to a couple of hours of work to finish an assessment that needs submitting by Wednesday. It’s done, but I chickened out of actually pressing send - I’ll have one more check through tomorrow or Monday.
We’ve got friends coming for a bbq later so I’ve made brownies, couscous salad and harissa veg and halloumi skewers. Dh is in charge of meat, in true caveman style.
Now I’m sitting in the garden trying to find the motivation to have a clean around the kitchen and hoover/mop the floors before visitors come.

zingally · Today 16:40

What a glorious day!

I rolled in at 11:30pm last night, having been at a murder mystery dinner with a friend. It was fun for what it was, but I'm not convinced I'd rush to do another. It was a bit long and I was starting to lose interest by the end.

Still up at my usual time, and walking into Asda by 7:45am. Quick whizz round, then over to Greggs for my free Octopus hot drink, and Waitrose for the fries I forgot in Asda. :)

Home to drink said hot drink, sat at the table, scrolling social media for a bit. Then off to the garden centre for shortly after opening. Picked up this years strawberry plants, 3 bags of compost and a new planter. Then spent a happy hour or so in the garden, planting the strawberries, and re-potting my tomato seedlings into larger pots.

The tomato seedlings got all cross with me for disturbing them (as baby plants often do), and sagged dramatically. But now a couple of hours on a sunny window sill and they're starting to revive. :)

It'll be an easy oven pizza for tea, and I suspect an early night.

RagzRebooted · Today 16:46

Absolutely nothing. Well, almost.
Woke up just before 8. Fed the cat, put the dishwasher and laundry on and laid in bed until midday, scrolling on my phone and reading about cat litter (so exciting, needed recommendations as not happy with current one). Got up and had lunch, sat on the sofa for a few hours, made Bailey's chocolate milkshakes and returned to the sofa!

I spent my day off in the week doing housework and am working tomorrow and the following 6 days, so I'm thoroughly enjoying my lazy day!

DS2 is meant to be cooking dinner tonight, but he went out last night and isn't home yet so it's not looking hopeful.

DefiantRabbit9 · Today 18:10

I'm having one of my hormonal manic days. Woke up put a batch of laundry on. Let the rabbits run in the garden, cleaned the kitchen. Did some weeding, pruning and clearing the garden. Filled the bird feeder and changed the bird bath water. Sat out in the garden to read The Troop.

Then popped out to get my pregnacare and buy some hot chocolate for me and the husband from Cafe Nero. I'm currently catching up on The Boys and hoping I can get a nap.

DilemmaDelilah · Today 19:06

Good evening @lucysmam and everyone. I'm so late today!

We had to go out early today, because Mr Dilemma is so very helpful to me that he puts all my (many) meds into those little daily morning and evening plastic boxes, so I don't (can't) keep track of what I have myself, and he neglected to tell me I had completely run out of one of the essential drugs until last night. My GP surgery is closed over the weekend, as is my local pharmacy, so it will be several days before I can get any more and we had to go to get an emergency prescription. We had to go out first thing as we had something planned for today (more on that later!) I love Mr Dilemma dearly, but it can be extremely wearing to have somebody that loves you do much they won't let you do anything for yourself! Of course I could... but that would make him so sad. Anyway - we were talked through the extremely easy process by the loveliest, most helpful pharmacist (go onto the 111 website - it only takes a minute) so we were well in time for the day's event.

I had booked us both into a conference on the historical architecture of where I live. I'm really interested in architecture and social history but I was a little uncertain as to whether Mr Dilemma would enjoy it, however we both had such an interesting and enjoyable day! It sounds ridiculous but I'm still buzzing.

There hasn't really been time to do anything else. I have watered my baby plants and had a drink and a snack, that's all. We had to get a quick lunch which was waaaay over my lunchtime calorie allowance and I'm not really hungry now, so I probably won't have much, if anything, else to eat. I think I'm going to have an early night tonight.
