Good morning all! What's everyone doing today?

I'm drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my spot in the conservatory - this is definitely my weekend morning spot! Boy cat's watching bird tv through the window & girl's curled up on one of the other chairs 😊. It's quite peaceful in here.

I've already had a tidy round in the kitchen and put a couple of things to soak before I wash up in a bit. The washer's also on, so the washing will go on the line when it's done.

Today's plan is much the same as yesterday - few details on peg dolls left to finish, garden waste into bin that I didn't get to yesterday, start decorating the conservatory. I got as far as sanding yesterday, so hoping to quickly finish the dolls then wipe down the walls & paint. Revision for dd2 - probably more Spanish speaking & some maths today.

Dd2's cooking pasta bake later for tea, then tidy round kitchen again & showers all round. I'll have my Self-Care-Sunday scrubby everything shower - not had one in a while, then sit down with my book & probably be interrupted by dd1 calling to talk my ears off! Then an early night ready for work and school tomorrow 💤.

What about all of you? 🙂

Good morning, I’m so tired but we have a busy day, both the kids are at dance, different studios so we’re both sat outside one, our oldest has rugby straight after dance and the youngest has a birthday party. Its my husbands grandma’s birthday, so we’re going there later for a little get together early dinner. I have a hyrox doubles session at 8:30 as well. I also need to get at least one work outfit washed and ironed for tomorrow, to be fair my husband will probably unpack for me and wash everything. I’ve got a presentation at work tomorrow so I’ve finished prepping that this morning.

I hope you all have a nice sunday.

MarmaladeSandwich7 · 19/04/2026 09:13

Good morning @lucysmam & The Sunday Crew! Love Sunday mornings when I haven’t got work looming. In bed & contemplating a 2nd cuppa (made one for myself & DH at around 7). Whilst I was downstairs I checked on the bunnies ( our poorly doe had her “husbun” in with her overnight), finished loading the dishwasher & ate some cold cooked roast chicken breast with mayo straight from the jar. It’s my latest addiction! So moist & delicious! Will probably have a whole breast for brekkie. DD17 & her “nearly DGF”are giggling away next door. I was given flowers by DGF last night - so touched. Apparently they’re not back together yet but are planning to rekindle their relationship soon. Plans for today include visiting DM in the care home & taking a framed picture for her room plus fidget toys that I bought the other day to help with her Parkinson’s/Dementia. Might have leftover paella for lunch. If the weather holds, I’ll go to a local garden where it’s only £5 admission for locals. Also need to pop to Asda Pharmacy. Easy tea of Harry Ramsdens jumbo battered cod fishfingers , HR “ chippy” chips & beans. We didn’t watch a film last night so might choose one tonight. Another few bits to go on Vinted. I vowed not to get any more clothes from the charity shop but couldn’t resist! One of the latest items is a stunning Per Una evening skirt for £10 - the tag says £55! Have a lovely day all.

yellowduckieswalking · 19/04/2026 09:13

Good morning! I have just finished my planning for my students and am about to shower. I shall make a picnic, then, when the teenagers emerge from their pits, we shall head into town, have a picnic and go to a museum. Am really looking forward

OchreSwan · 19/04/2026 09:22

Good morning @lucysmamand all. Glorious day here so I’ve been out for a run in the sun. Dishwasher has been on, and I’ve just put some washing machine cleaner in to go round for a bit as it was smelling a bit funny.

Need to have a tidy up in the kitchen and will wipe down the bathroom ready for some guests coming tomorrow. Will go to the shop to get ingredients to prep for dinner with guests during the week. Not sure at all what we’ll have ourselves this evening.

I think DP will want to get out for a walk in the sun at some point, so will probably join him for that. Then more reading my book, and some knitting in front of the snooker I think.

Tangerinesattack · 19/04/2026 09:23

Morning all!

Quite tired this morning after a long evening travelling back from Turkey - we got in at 2.30.

Today will be very busy. We'll spend some time with the in laws (where we are staying) then go and see both of my parents. I need to have a tricky conversation with my dad, which is never fun. Then we have a 3 hour drive back to our home. Once we get back, we'll need to cram a week of housework into a couple of hours to try and get things organised for back to school and work tomorrow. We've had a lovely break and now it's time to pay the piper, it feels like!

No idea for dinner - something very quick and easy. Maybe boiled eggs on toast.

PinkNailPolish2026 · 19/04/2026 09:23

Good morning, I’ve seen these threads but never really joined in before. I’ve already stripped and washed the beds and got everything hung out, it’s a fresh sunny day here with a “good drying wind” as my MIL would have said. We’re having family round for a Sunday roast, everything’s prepared ready to pop on around 12. DH is away up the hills with the dogs, I’m just about to have a soak in the bath in peace with my book.

MaggieBsBoat · 19/04/2026 09:27

I love this (I secretly hope that such threads are a quiet encouragement to women who live with awful partners to leave them and get their Sundays back!). M DH is away and I plan on sitting in my jimjams all day reading. I’m on my 4th cup of tea as woke up at 6am annoyingly. I have asked the kids if they want to go run and dance at the beach but they told me to get lost! Losers!

Topsy44 · 19/04/2026 09:27

Good Morning All,

Had a cuppa and toast, actually felt like I had a decent night’s sleep last night for once!

DD14 is still asleep making the most of a final lie-in before back to school tomorrow.

My plan is to mow the lawns and do a bit of weeding as the weather looks ok here in SE.

This evening will be getting uniform and work stuff ready with an easy tea and something cozy for DD & I to watch as she always gets a bit nervous going back to school after a break.

Hope you all have good Sundays.

Tiddlywinks63 · 19/04/2026 09:35

Good morning everyone, it’s gloriously sunny here albeit a tad chilly.
The washing is on, I’ll put it out on the line shortly, there’s another load waiting.
Dh has walked tiddler (they’re both snoozing at the moment), he and bigger dog will be going out soon.
I have cleaned the fridge, chucked out some out of date stuff, I should do the freezer too….
There’s roast pork, homemade cauliflower cheese, new potatoes and parsnips for dinner, I’ve dug a fruit strudel thingy out of the freezer for pudding. My appetite is very poor at the moment and food never has really been an interest so I’m trying to eat sensibly. It isn’t unusual for me to cook a meal and then not eat anything.
Anyway, it’s lovely sitting here in the sun that’s streaming through the window, very peaceful.
Enjoy your day x

dicentra365 · 19/04/2026 09:40

Good morning @lucysmam and all, I’ve just had a coffee looking over the garden, which needs quite a lot doing to it, so as it’s a sunny day, I think I need to get out there this afternoon. This morning I promised dd that I will take her to town as she wants to get some red hair dye for her hair and have a look at some clothes shops. I also need to do some food shopping and work out what is for dinner tonight. Possibly a roast if I’ve got time to cook it. In between I might start my new book and carry on watching at home with the Fury’s or the other Bennett sister. Have a great day everyone!

DilemmaDelilah · 19/04/2026 09:53

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone. I'm glad you have found your new weekend morning spot.

The 'royal visit' yesterday went really well. When we first found out about my stepdaughter's widow's new relationship it was a bit upsetting, but now I've met her I think she's lovely! Our granddaughter gets on really well with her children and it has been so good for her. She was a self-centred and, frankly, spoiled, child. She is now very pleasant and chatty and a delight to be with. All the children are well-mannered and nice. I fed them on pizza, cheese and onion rolls (like sausage rolls), chocolate cake (made by Mr Dilemma) and salad. The children ate masses of everything especially, of course, the cake 😁. Not quite enough to stop me pigging out on leftovers, unfortunately, but the diet starts again today.

Very little housework to do today as I wanted everything to be perfect for my visitors so we did it all on Friday and yesterday. We are planning on going to a garden centre to see if we can find any marrow plants. I planted my seedlings out last weekend but it was too early and they got frosted and died. The marrows were the sole reason I decided to have a vegetable bed this year, as I found it impossible to find any in the shops last summer, so I am now reduced to trying to find some plants to buy. Annoyingly, the pumpkins I didn't even want to grow are doing really well. Mr Dilemma has a £50 garden voucher to spend so he might buy himself something while we are there. He has been making noises about getting a new garden fork. I know he won't actually use it - but if it makes him happy.....

I may do something about starting to get the spare rooms ready for the next visit of Houdini and his mum. At the moment the larger spare room, where my daughter sleeps, is a repository for clean laundry and suitcases. Houdini's room is basically fine - he just needs his bed made, the 'high' chair (as in a chair that is high, rather than a highchair) to be taken down to the dining room, and the potties rounded up and given away. We had 3 - he was late to be potty trained and, in fact, by the time he was out of nappies he preferred to use the loo so 1 has never ever been used and the other 2 have never been used by him. Somebody will be glad of them I'm sure. Oh, and before anyone asks why he needed 3 potties in his bedroom, they were just being stored in there. One was for downstairs, one was for the upstairs bathroom and one was for his bedroom.

It is a beautiful sunny morning, the birds are shouting away in the trees and all is well in my world. Have a lovely day everybody or, at least, the best day possible.

JingsMahBucket · 19/04/2026 09:57

Morning @lucysmam and the Sunday Club! I’m still snuggled down in bed but it’s our anniversary today and I’m going to get up soon to have breakfast with my OH. I went grocery shopping yesterday for fun snacks and food so we could stay in all day and rest. It’ll be smoked salmon and eggs for breakfast.

We’ll watch some movies or shows together and potter around guiltlessly enjoying each other’s company. At some point I’ll take care of a few emails, clean the kitchen surfaces, and make granola for the week and chocolate brownies for dessert tonight. Tonight’s dinner will be roasted duck legs, mashed potatoes, and olive oil roasted tomatoes and green beans.

The weather is nice today but I think we’re going to stay in and snuggle up for the day. Have a beautiful Sunday everyone!

gingercat02 · 19/04/2026 10:03

Morning all. Just finishing my breakfast before I go to my class.
It's a beautiful morning here, so I'm going to get out in the garden this afternoon, got rained and hauled on yesterday when tried.
We need to do uni finance and accommodation at some point.
DS is back to school tomorrow so I'm hoping that will de-stress him a bit.
Slow cooked lamb for tea, and catching up with Thursday's Race Across the World.

lucysmam · 19/04/2026 10:17

Dolls are finally done! I want to make a wardrobe for The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe set but that's not urgent! I'll start varnishing at some point - once I work out what to do about having used the gold that will come off with varnish 🙄🤔.

I'm just having breakfast - fruit, yogurt, flaked almonds, choc chips, drizzled with a little honey 😋 . Then it's washing out...washing up...get dressed...decorate!

I was really hoping that I could update with a new sweet baby in my life. But im still waiting for my induction since yesterday midday. Labour ward is full and its a waiting game. Part of me feels like going home 🏡

Thislittlekitten · 19/04/2026 10:21

Morning @lucysmam and the Sunday sqaud

I missed yesterday’s thread although I did read it. I felt quite down yesterday and not able to contribute, but much better today. That’s despite DDog waking me at 4am for a pee and me being awake 1.5 hours after that!

Just having a cup of tea in bed and then will get ready to meet some friends for a walk. Taking DDog and they have dogs so he’ll have a great time.

Back to work tomorrow and school for the kids so just to prep all the stuff for that. Not missed the morning dash though I am looking forward to getting back to work and seeing the children!

Easy tea today of chicken kebabs and hummus salad and bread tonight and hoping for a good sleep.

Enjoy your Sundays everyone

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 19/04/2026 10:27

Good morning lucysmam and others. Jingsmabucket it's much sunnier here than I expected.
I have had 2 coffees, 2 cuppas and a slice of toast. Then I nipped to Aldi for the week's food. It's all away in the fridge and cupboards now while I finish the second cuppa. I have a delivery due today that I need to stay in for, so I will potter about until that arrives. Homemade salmon pie for dinner and smoked haddock paté to make(I think). Have a good day all.

Crunchymum · 19/04/2026 10:43

Hello lucysmam and all.

It's a beautiful sunny day here and I'm feeling the flutters of spring.

We're currently doing baths, homework and I'm waiting for the food shopping. Then we are going to head to granny's and take advantage of their large garden.

I have lots of nibbles for lunch (dips, meats, naice bread, quiche, posh sausage rolls) so we'll have a picnic in the garden.

Some of us will watch the football later (come on Arsenal - such a big game!) Granny and I plan a canal walk and we'll grab an ice cream too.

Perfect, low key day.

I've already roasted a chicken so we'll have that later if anyone is hungry in pitta, with salad.

CharlotteStreetW1 · 19/04/2026 10:44

Morning all!

Only an occasional poster on these threads but just wanted to wish @Judgejudysno1fan all the very best with your special delivery 👶

Quiet day here. I've done a wash and painted my nails for the week. DH has just got up and has just made me some toast and a second cup of tea. Good lad.

Will shortly be going for a walk to our local bluebell wood which just happens to come out at a very nice country pub 🤭 Then planning to pop into a pet shop round the corner to buy the cats a new scratching post on the way back.

Dinner will be whatever Hello Fresh deliver - the whole point is that they choose and I don't have to think about it.

Have a lovely day everyone 😊

Bringyourfoldingchair · 19/04/2026 10:52

Good morning all! I haven’t been on in a little while. Had a few issues in work and it stressed me out! Trying to relax over it now. (Someone same grade but much older being horrible to me because I refused to do their work).

I’m at our caravan with DH and DCs. Just came yesterday for one night. I lay in bed this morning and ordered a grocery click and collect for later so I’ll have everything in for the week ahead. We’ve had bacon sandwiches and tea and everyone chilling out now.

It’s a nice day here so we are thinking a nice walk in a forest park on the way home. Might bring a disposable bbq with us for lunch. I would like to get the grass cut when I get in, but will see what time it is.

Later I will get the click and collect and hopefully get DCs settled early and have a relaxing evening. My diets been rubbish recently so really want to do better this week.

Enjoy your day everyone

thebeautifulsky · 19/04/2026 11:08

Morning all,

Up very early this morning. Woke from a bad dream at 4.30am and couldn't get back to sleep so pottered about folding laundry, emptying dishwasher etc. Went for my daily walk up the hills then sat in the garden with a coffee and a piece of flapjack I made yesterday.

I'm browsing MN and looking out over the hills with another cuppa and listening to the birds. I've recently discovered the Merlin app - amazing how many different birds are out there.

Going to have to nip to the shop very soon as I need some bits I've forgotten. I say nip - the nearest supermarket is a good 30 minutes away so a bit of a chore! I need to be more efficient with my online food shop!

The family are coming over mid afternoon so the DGC will be running around the garden having fun whilst the adults sit in the garden with a cuppa and homemade flapjack.

Just me and DH for dinner tonight; salad and new potatoes then a Netflix binge watch I think.

frozendaisy · 19/04/2026 11:32

Morning morning all still just

School shirts (just washing then dry sun bleach on the line)

Revision - oh it’s that time of year again such fun
revision, bickering with teenagers, revision, explaining we’ve sat our exams they don’t care what we know, repeat until we all lose the will!

Will make a roast, although it feels like it’s over my temperature threshold for roast dinners but we are where we are!

dudsville · 19/04/2026 11:40

I love your threads @lucysmam !

I'm nursing a mild hangover here, but we cleaned the house thoroughly and got lots of other chores done yesterday before our guests arrived yesterday evening, and then it was quick and easy tidy up last buggy once they'd gone, so this is going to be a very lazy day for me. Breakfast and pot of tea in bed. I've washed my hair in readiness for the work week, I'll do my breakfasts and lunches that I take for work. Otherwise, I expect I'll be on MN and playing games and looking at funny things online until I get bored and decide to do something else.

Peridot1 · 19/04/2026 11:46

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone, Just.

I slept till about 8.30 which is unusual for me but was awake in the night for a bit. Have had tea and did my puzzles. More tea with toast. Stripped my bed. Went for a walk in the sunshine. Just had a coffee.

I’m going to go and remake my bed in a bit so I don’t forget and end up having to do it later. Then it’s gardening. Prepping two beds and hopefully starting planting them. Might see if DH will do some of the prepping so I can get on with planting the two beds I’ve already prepped. It would be good to get it all done today.

Would like some time reading my book later. Dinner is baked ham. Not sure of accompaniments yet. I bought a couple of rhubarb crumbles and vanilla ice cream yesterday for dessert. We don’t normally have dessert so a bit of a treat.

zingally · 19/04/2026 12:07

Nothing!

I'm on antibiotics for a case of cystitis, so trying to take it easy. I'd thought about doing a bit of gardening this afternoon, getting some pots ready to put some strawberry plants in next weekend, but I'm not feeling it. I'm just wanting to rest. And I figure, if that's what my body is telling me, combined with the medicine, I'll do as I'm told.

I'm going to go and make sandwiches for the freezer for the next couple of weeks of work lunches, perhaps wipe around the kitchen a bit, and load the dishwasher, but then it's the settee, some mindless telly and perhaps a nap for me.
