This kind of extremist, over dramatic reaction is not helpful. Far more people are killed by men, by cars, by medical negligence, etc, than they are by dogs. There were THREE fatal dog attacks last year, 3. On average 4 - 5 people are killed by cattle every year. Get some perspective.
I'd also like to point out how much dogs do for us, as you sound rather ignorant:
1. Service and Assistance Roles
- Guide Dogs: Assist visually impaired individuals by navigating public spaces.
- Hearing Dogs: Alert owners with hearing loss to sounds like doorbells, alarms, or crying babies.
- Mobility Assistance Dogs: Fetch items, open doors, or provide balance and support for those with physical disabilities.
- Medical Alert Dogs: Use their sense of smell to detect changes in blood sugar (diabetes), oncoming seizures, or severe allergies, enabling owners to take preventive action.
- Psychiatric Service Dogs: Help individuals with PTSD, anxiety, or autism by providing emotional support, creating barriers in crowds, or checking homes for safety.
2. Public Safety and Law Enforcement (K-9 Units)
- Police and Military Dogs: Track suspects, protect handlers, and search for evidence.
- Detection Dogs: Sniff out illicit substances, including drugs, explosives, firearms, and electronics.
- Search and Rescue (SAR) Dogs: Locate missing persons, earthquake survivors, or avalanche victims.
- Arson Dogs: Detect accelerants at fire scenes to help determine if a fire was deliberately set.
- Cadaver Dogs: Locate human remains, even underwater
3. Conservation and Wildlife Protection
- Conservation Detection Dogs: Sniff out scat, fur, or the animals themselves to help researchers monitor endangered species (e.g., koalas, killer whales).
- Anti-Poaching Dogs: Track poachers in wildlife reserves.
- Pest Control Dogs: Detect invasive species or pests like bed bugs and termites.
4. Agriculture and Security
- Herding Dogs: Manage and move livestock, such as sheep and cattle, using instincts to control them.
- Livestock Guardian Dogs: Protect herds from predators like wolves or coyotes.
- Airport Security Dogs: Keep runways clear of wildlife to prevent bird strikes.
5. Therapy and Emotional Support
- Therapy Dogs: Provide comfort in hospitals, nursing homes, schools, and courtrooms, reducing stress and boosting "happy hormones" like oxytocin.
- Facility Dogs: Work in prisons or care homes to help with rehabilitation or dementia care.
6. Specialized and Unique Roles
- Truffle Hunting Dogs: Locate valuable fungi underground.
- Cancer Detection Dogs: Sniff samples (breath, skin, urine) to detect early stages of cancer.
- Ball Boys/Girls: Retrieve tennis balls at tournaments to promote pet adoption.
- Wine Quality Inspectors: Detect chemical faults (TCA) in wine production.
