Go alone or not at all?

There's a concert I'd love to see but no one else wants to go. How tragic would it be to go by myself?

I either go alone or miss it altogether

Go!

TheeNotoriousPIG · 12/04/2026 14:00

Why should you miss out, just because nobody else wants to go, OP?

Do you really want to be that person sat in a chair when you're old, thinking, "I wish I'd gone to that concert/event when I was young and able enough to"?

Go, OP, and have fun! Admittedly, if you do go anywhere by yourself, you tend to get a lot of people saying how brave you are to venture out on your own. However... at least you're not letting others hold you back, and you'll be filling your life with all sorts of fun and interesting things!

Go!

I'm leaning towards going solo.

My friend said she'll go if the show comes to where we live but can't stretch to the travel and hotel costs for this one. That's fair enough but people don't tour forever. I'd be kicking myself if I let the opportunity pass me by.

Go. I go to see loads of things alone - better that than missing out entirely.

f1mercedesfan · 12/04/2026 14:05

Check the crime stats etc in the area it's in to assess safety before deciding especially if it finishes late

begonefoulclutter · 12/04/2026 14:05

Go!

And don't let your friend talk you into paying for her to be your companion. 😁

Nowvoyager99 · 12/04/2026 14:05

Definitely go. I do stuff on my own quite often, including overseas travel.

The only problem with it is you sometimes think it’s better than going anywhere with other people!

Don't be absurd.

There's loads of accommodation near the venue, so I'm looking at that. I think it will be busy at night. That feels safer to me than walking alone on a quiet street.

Definitely go! I’m going to a comedy gig next month that I could have asked people to go to but just thought I’d go alone as it’s a bit easier for me to just get there and get back. Hopefully it will be as ok as I think it will in my head 😂

MirrorMirror1247 · 12/04/2026 14:22

Do it! I went solo to a gig in another country a couple of months ago. You'll miss out on so much if you don't do things by yourself!

Lurkingandlearning · 12/04/2026 14:38

It wouldn’t be tragic at all. I think it’s one of those things, like cinema and theatre, where once the show starts people are oblivious to everyone else around them. Even before people aren’t going to be taking much notice.

NoYouCantComeToTheWedding · 12/04/2026 14:44

I think it's tragic that you think it would be tragic. It's 2026 FFS.

Myfridgeiscool · 12/04/2026 14:47

Book it OP!
Don't miss seeing something you really want to see.

There might not be many more opportunities to see.

I will go 😁

Go. I’ve started going to things alone - the theatre mainly, and I bloody love it!

I’m in the bar waiting for a concert to start at the moment… I’m alone. Just go for it.
