Go alone or not at all?

There's a concert I'd love to see but no one else wants to go. How tragic would it be to go by myself?

I either go alone or miss it altogether

Check the crime stats etc in the area it's in to assess safety before deciding especially if it finishes late

Don't be daft. There will be literally thousands of people leaving the venue and walking to the nearest hotels, car parks and taxi ranks. Plus loads of stewards around.

Glad you’re going OP and hopefully this will show you you can have a great time alone.

Go alone. Obviously. It's not tragic - it's liberating, exciting and joyful.

Oh this is utter rubbish! Any sensible woman is perfectly safe going to and from a concert, and shouldn't be cowering at home whimpering about "crime stats".

That's assuming the hotels in walking distance aren't fully booked and they have to use one slightly further out a mile or two away

I’d go, I went to my first solo gig last year and really enjoyed it, I go to the theatre and cinema on my own regularly too.

This is what buses and taxis are for.

One would never do anything if one kept thinking of all the 'what ifs'.

I know posters are thinking this is a little over the top but it's something I'd been thinking about even before your comments. It's not paranoid, it's sensible. I've been to this place before but don't know it that well.

The town is a busy tourist place and the venue is fairly central. I've now reserved an apartment a couple of minutes walk away. I don't want to eat out alone, so I'll be able to prepare some meals and have a fridge to chill beer in 😁

I think there'll be tons of people around as well. It's a busy tourist place. The show starts at 6.30pm, so it's going to be done by 10pm at the very latest I'd say?

Should I tell you all what it is in case you want to come too 😁

Alternatively, just get a taxi back home or to your hotel. 🙄
