Fascinated by ‘snacks’ and ‘Friday dinner’ (image will be under review I imagine).

I diagnose someone with a serious drug habit who is crap at French.

Whosthetabbynow · 09/04/2026 13:56

Love the “mini sausages” Bless

FastFood · 09/04/2026 13:58

I'm going to make a shoping list for the week:

  • food for the week

Et voilà !

whereswilson · 09/04/2026 13:59

3 milks?!

WonderingWanda · 09/04/2026 14:01

3 milks?!

Well they have size 4 nappies so presumably a baby who is old enough for cows milk.

WonderingWanda · 09/04/2026 14:01

Why are you fascinated by 'snacks and 'Friday dinner' do you have no imagination?

I more thought this must be a list written by a woman for a man. She trusts him to get good treats but not the right size nappies.

Isn't that just an extremely ordinary shopping list? Listing approximately what meals are planned, leaving room to adapt exact purchase to what is available.

TheHellHoundBlackShuck · 09/04/2026 14:06

Ooh I love other people's shopping lists. Think you are right about someone other then the shopper having made the list, op.

NetballHoop · 09/04/2026 14:07

It all looks pretty normal to me apart from "Roast Potatoes". Roasties are so easy to make that I just can't see why you wouldn't just buy potatoes and get on with it.

GameOfJones · 09/04/2026 14:09

I agree the list writer isn't the shopper here as you wouldn't specify the size of nappies to yourself....you just know what size is needed.

I love a shopping list thread, I'm nosey and find it fascinating! 😁

And three bottles of milk is our standard too in a house with two adults and two primary aged children that still like a cup of milk with breakfast.

DeanElderberry · 09/04/2026 14:12

or the list writer is the shopper and their friend/neighbour/sister asked them to buy nappies while they were in the shop

ThanklessTask · 09/04/2026 14:14

And I'm assuming that is "naice" ham!

LittleMi55Nobody · 09/04/2026 14:14

blimey i need an eye-test...i thought it said "racist" potatoes

We don't want any of those King Edwards coming over here and stopping our Maris Pipers from getting jobs at the crisp factory!

LetMeGoogleThat · 09/04/2026 14:45

That could be a list written by me! It starts off on the table listing the thing that I will forget, and gets expanded before I leave.

Meteorite87 · 09/04/2026 14:45

Friday dinner = "We need something, decision tb made"

😂

I think it’s a list for someone away for the weekend in a holiday cottage, self catering; they want a fancier breakfast than rice crispies hence the croissants and cold meat platter, lots of snacky bits for easy lunches, explains why they’re buying roast spuds rather than just making them themselves, Friday dinner when they arrive, something easy and quick, TBC. It’s a mum sending a dad to do the shop for sure, hence the nappy size.

I am giving this too much thought.

HollyhockDays · 09/04/2026 14:48

Sometimes mine will say “Thursday dinner” or similar as I’ll pick up whatever I fancy!

MinnieMountain · 09/04/2026 14:49

"Friday dinner" would be me writing the shopping list for DH and getting him to plan a meal.

catmothertes1 · 09/04/2026 14:51

Meteorite87 · 09/04/2026 14:45

Exactly. Maybe Friday is "can't be bothered cooking day",so get something nice to just stick in the oven and get some snacks too.

I'm not sure what is wrong with this list. Even if it's not written by the person who is actually shopping,I assume that said person knows what the other person likes/dislikes.

Davros · 09/04/2026 14:52

How big are these milks? Are they all the same fat content? Are they made of nuts? So many questions

IDrinkTeaAllTheTime · 09/04/2026 14:53

Maybe I’m weird, but I write my shopping list this way. I do a bigger batch cook at the start of the month, so I generally only do smaller top ups of what’s needed fresh throughout the month.

I allocate a small portion of my grocery budget towards snacks, but I don’t buy a lot of them and they’re not always the same, so I’ll buy what I fancy/is on offer and it will appear on my shopping list as “snacks.”

I assume that the person who is buying the milk knows exactly what to get because they or somebody else in the house always get that type.

It's no wonder gchq wanted mum's as spies !
