What are you having for Easter Sunday lunch?

Sat in the kitchen waiting for potatoes to cook and listening to Radio 2 with phone ins about their lunch.

We're having chicken breast wrapped in pancetta, roast potatoes, mash, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire puddings and all the vegetables: peas, carrots, parsnips, sprouts.

We've always had an Easter Sunday lunch. Interested to hear if it's still a thing or do people not bother these days?

Crumpets.

Got a slow roasting lamb leg in the oven for this evening, and then having a big roast turkey lunch tomorrow with the in laws.

Just had a fish finger sandwich. DH is making cottage pie later and I will eat that during the night because I am on nightshift tonight. We know how to live in our house.

Lamb steaks with mashed and roasted potatoes, carrots, parsnips, peas, Yorkshire puddings and stuffing. Basically all our favourite things. I’ve never been wedded to what should be served.

Grapes.

Fermented? They’re my favourite. 🤣

patooties · 05/04/2026 13:08

Picky bits at lunchtime - we cooking a massive pork dinner - cauliflower cheese, roasties, mashed swede, sprouts, carrots, spring greens. Then mini egg cheesecake- we were meant to eat that at lunchtime but one of our guests had a tree come down in the night so we are delayed

SpottyAlpaca · 05/04/2026 13:10

Hot cross buns & about five kilos of chocolate.

DP will roast a leg of lamb for dinner this evening.

Whateverbrian · 05/04/2026 13:11

Cornish pasty and a pint of beer

Beeinalily · 05/04/2026 13:14

Veggie so having a Quorn roast with the veg and stuff. I told ds if I was alone I'd just have chocolate, but he didn't take the hint 😂

DaringDarlingDebbie · 05/04/2026 13:28

Steak, mushrooms cooked with butter and garlic before being put in a ramekin with stilton and breadcrumbs on the top, broccoli, not sure whether I need to add potatoes or not yet.

Chocolate.

Mattsmum2 · 05/04/2026 13:31

Going to daughters for a veggie roast at 3. I’ve done a pudding of apple crumble and custard .

NessaCoaches · 05/04/2026 13:31

Steak, roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips, cauliflower cheese, broccoli and Yorkshires. Apple pie and custard after because we’re chocolated out.

Raera · 05/04/2026 13:37

Toast for lunch!
About 7pm, mackerel pate and melba toast followed by slow roast lamb in red wine gravy with Dauphinoise potatoes and other veg.
DD will be bringing pudding.

begonefoulclutter · 05/04/2026 13:41

Baked gammon with a honey & mustard glaze with parsley sauce, roast potatoes, carrots & runner beans, followed by mandarin jelly and as much chocolate as I can eat. We also have some St Clements hot cross buns.

Deadringer · 05/04/2026 13:44

Dh and i are going to the pub and will likely have a roast. Dc (grown up) are having pizza (from the freezer).

dontforgetme · 05/04/2026 13:50

We always try and have the first bbq of the year so today we have burgers, pork steaks, salad, potato salad, halloumi and spicy rice.

Tomorrow will be lamb with all the trimmings.

Peridot1 · 05/04/2026 13:54

We had a cooked breakfast for brunch. Dinner will be roast lamb, roast potatoes, red cabbage, carrots and peas. Yorkshires for DS and DH maybe. I have trifle for after but it will probably only be me that eats it.

Ilovelurchers · 05/04/2026 13:54

Roast chicken; mini jackets; Yorkshire's; pigs in blankets; carrots and shallots in thyme butter; parmesan broccoli; creamed spinach; sweetcorn 'n' peas; gravy; cranberry sauce.

For pudding I have made a kind of banana, raisin and caramel cake (it's a use-up-what-we-have cake - the best cake!) which we will have with custard and more caramel poured on top.

Pernicketywishes · 05/04/2026 13:54

Slow cooked lamb is currently in the slow cooker & all the usual veg (not sure what DH got as I’ve been at work so much lately). We’ll eat some time this evening.
Did a little Easter egg hunt for tiny DGC and had some Easter mini egg cheesecake too so too full for lunch!
