I’m thinking Holland Park
or Greenwich park
or just wandering around Notting Hill ?

Kew Gardens sent a promotional ‘cherry blossom’ email the other day.

Our tree (front garden, outer London) isn’t properly out yet - IMO it’ll take around another week.

vespersjack · 23/03/2026 09:39

There’s not much out in Holland Park. My bet would be Notting Hill around portabello or Regents Park?

Many years ago, an estate alongside the Old Kent Road had a few hundred yards of Cherry's and the pavement alongside looked like a pink carpet. Not sure if they are still there, but I walked that way home from school and it was glorious when in flower. Love a flowering Cherry.

Yes I’m a bit early really, but I happen to be going today
I’ll report back where I find the best blooms
I don’t wanna pay to go anywhere tho
so might start with Notting Hill
although I’m heading to Oxford street first
from Euston
I’ll be there a couple of hours then I’ll get food and cherry tree hunt

Swiss Cottage open space is a popular cherry tree spot locally, the trees are in bloom.

Battersea Park is good but I don’t live close enough to know if they’re out in force there yet.

oneoneone · 23/03/2026 10:09

I've been away and just got back, so haven't been down there yet, but Westbourne Grove in Notting Hill usually has a lot.

Beyondjourneysend · 23/03/2026 12:22

Found a little square full of them in Aldgate (Aldgate square) - not enough else around there to go out of your way for but a delightful suprise on our way to lunch

Rad1ogoogoo · 23/03/2026 12:23

St James Park definitely has blossoms out

Bjorkdidit · 23/03/2026 12:44

Where I am (West Yorkshire) there's a lot of pink blossom around, but it seems so early, could it be something else not cherry?

The big one around here is Harrogate which is a bit further north and that's usually mid to late April so a few weeks yet.

But I don't want to miss it so might have to go see (can't find anything by googling).

That’s where I noticed it a few years ago, a lot!

cinnamontroll · 23/03/2026 12:50

My cherry blossom tree is in full bloom as of a few days ago. I’m in Scotland though. I planted it 7 years ago and the joy this tree brings me is crazy! This year I have started a video project and I’ve been filming my tree twice a week since Jan 1st. I am looking forward to seeing all the changes on video in a montage!

Thanks for all the tips
I started at Notting hill Westbourne grove
they weren’t yet in bloom but I wandered around the back streets and found loads of magnolia trees and a few blossom trees too

then I went to Kyoto garden in Holland Park
wow what a lovely place
wasn’t expecting that it to be that lovely
never been there before

so been a lovely day

might go back in a months time
but they mig by have all blown away by then it’s hard really catching that peak window

thanks for all the advice and tips
appreciate it

Greenwich blossom wasn’t out earlier last week but will be very soon.

converseandjeans · 23/03/2026 23:22

I read an article earlier about people descending on a street in Notting Hill & hanging around doing insta stories & how inconvenient it is. I started following Influencersinthewild. I can’t fathom travelling across London to look for cherry blossom. I just looked on TikTok and it seems it’s a thing & your post has confirmed that.

I’m snapping a pic on my phone as I go by

the Japanese actually have a word for it
