happened to go past at school pick up time so had to crop off half the street

We used to live right around the corner from there. School run time is mad!

Well I’ve had a lovely day, nice temp, 30k steps, nice lunch bit of shopping bit of nature

I’m not spending 30mins taking selfies on someone’s doorstep

I’m snapping a pic on my phone as I go by

the Japanese actually have a word for it
cherry blossom hunting, hanami

I’ll visit there sometime in my life hopefully

@LisaVanderpumpy I just went on to TikTok and discovered it is definitely a thing! Never heard of it. Stanley Crescent seems to be the place to go.

I’m glad I don’t live on Stanley Crescent. That would drive me mad.

Greenwich Park's Cherry Tree Avenue should start to make a proper appearance towards the end of next week. The photo shows what it looked like yesterday (4 April 2026). I'm keeping this website updated every couple of days isthecherryblossomoutatgreenwichparkyet.wordpress.com/

Greenwich Park blossom tree map here (plus printable PDF version) https://isthecherryblossomoutatgreenwichparkyet.wordpress.com/map/

There are other lovely trees in the park that are in blossom now (particularly the crab apples (#3 on the map) near the Roman temple and the cherry and crab apple in Rangers House inner garden (which also features in Bridgerton, #10 on the map).

On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays there's a free mobility buggy service, open to all but prioritised by need. It stops at the Cutty Sark end (St Mary's Gate), at the main Pavilion café in the middle of the park, and at Vanbrugh Gate (by Ignatius Sancho café and an excellent cherry tree in the Flower Garden, not in bloom yet). Lots of loos.

Quickest entrance for Cherry Tree Avenue is Blackheath Gate but entering by Chesterfield Gate will show you even more lovely cherry blossom trees en route.
