I’d love some snow! Only got some rain and hail yesterday

@TeaAndStrumpets have you read Death Comes to Pemberley and Longbourn? Been ages since I’ve read them but I enjoyed them and Death Comes to Pemberley was on tv quite a few years ago now

Yes I did enjoy them! I read Charlotte by Helen Moffatt which was well written but I didn't think it was true to the character. I will check back on Amazon to get more titles!

Just bobbing on here to say hello to you all! And a little wave! I've brought a packet of biscuits with me and a tub of ice cream if you'd like to share?

It's comforting to know I'm not alone. I've not left the house since December. I mean, it's not a life, is it? I'm flipping 54, not 94! Actually, my 94 Yr old neighbour actually makes meals for me. It should be the other way round.

I probably won't post much. The only limb that works properly is my left arm - and I'm right handed! Bah!

I've watched today's soaps online. That killed an hour already 😆 Oh and has anyone watched Celebrity Sabotage? I can't wait for the next episode because it made me laugh so much!

Lots of best wishes to you all from someone who has the whole alphabet wrong with them. It can only get better, eh?!

BerfyTigot · 26/03/2026 09:44

@MewithME I sometimes have times like that with my visible band. I think it's the band not connecting with my phone properly because when i click on Activity, the graph is either blank or registers rest/ low activity. It does it about once a week.

Yesterday, I ran a few errands in town but they didn't register at all. I'm thinking of getting a fitbit instead, I don't know much about them but my friend rates them.

Swanhilde · 26/03/2026 09:47

It's a beautiful but chilly morning here ☀️

I've checked the seedlings in the greenhouse and they look okay, although something has been nibbling the sunflowers 🐌

I'm popping into work at lunchtime for my boss's leaving do and then onto my ceramics class. And then it's ear hoovering #3 .... 🤞

Morning will be spent in bed with tea. I slept a bit better last night but climbed two flights of stairs (why???) yesterday, so my thighs are sore 😭

Magic kettle is on if anyone wants a brew 🪄 ☕

Please keep posting! You have come bearing foodstuffs so you are very welcome indeed. Sorry you are less fit than your neighbour but it must be a tremendous boost for her!

Seriously being housebound is so miserable. I haven't stayed away from home or had a holiday for nearly 10 years so I get it. Each appointment has to be planned like a military operation, resting before, resting after. I had ME before Covid and managed a restricted life, but had Covid a few times and that flattened me.

I don't watch soaps due to being trapped at home with teenagers for years and forced to watch East Enders and Neighbours so that was aversion therapy for me. DH used to walk into the room and run away because of "all the shouting". We only had one screen in the house in the olden days. How Quaint!

Celebrity Sabotage sounds fun though. We recently watched Last One Laughing and even grumpy DH managed the odd snigger 😃

TodayIsatrickyone · 26/03/2026 10:29

Morning you chatty lot
Yes please to a cuppa @Swanhilde
Waving back @DinoLil and a biscuit would be lovely. It’s a bit chilly for ice cream even for me😊
Still in bed here. Been a busy week so expected to feel extra tired today really but need to get up shortly as we've a shop due. DH is making me a coffee in the hope it might kick start me into moving I think! Otherwise audio book, dog cuddles and not a lot else today.

Peppermint tea please! If you run out of ceramic projects maybe some personalised mugs?
Stairs are the devil, but I suppose it is exercise. Nothing worse than getting Bungalow Legs!

PS good luck with the ear hoovering, I had mine done the other week but although better they are not fantastic so hearing aids are looming. I'll think about them after I have my cataracts fixed!

TeaAndStrumpets · 26/03/2026 10:37

Morning @TodayIsatrickyone always nice to share a cuppa!

Stairs are my nemesis @TeaAndStrumpets

There's a theory that LC affects muscle rebuild so instead of being stronger they are weaker. Would explain why any sort of exercise / physio causes me PEM. But who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️

Anyway, I should know better by now. Dosed up on painkillers ...

DinoLil · 26/03/2026 10:55

Aren't you all fabulous?! I've opened my window and brrrrr it is chilly! Ice cream is back in the freezer.

I have dark chocolate digestives, some biscoff things and a couple of Crunchies left. Help yourselves! Oh and two packs of pickled onion crisps and three packs of beef McCoys! No milk because I don't like milk (thank you 1970s and bottles of milk left in the sun that you were forced to drink at school 😆), buti have an array of soft drinks and a dodgy looking smoothie which has kale in. Bleurgh!

I hope you all have a good a day as you possibly can.

TeaAndStrumpets · 26/03/2026 11:09

@JewelleryCat I have checked back on book titles and can recommend

Frances Murray: Expectations It's on Kindle Unlimited and was written a few years ago. A long relaxing read with a few great plot twists (can't give spoilers but they worked well)

Julia Winter:
A Very Fine Place Mr Darcy returns to Pemberley after serving abroad. Based on The Quiet Gentleman by Georgette Heyer (another great book) This is free on Kindle Unlimited.. I enjoyed it so much I bought her other two books.

Mistress of Netherfield. Lizzy Bennet is widowed young after a dreadful marriage. Loved this so much I immediately bought another copy and sent it to DD1 who was poorly. £3.76

Worthy Lizzy Bennet is staying with distant relatives, meets Mr D who as usual puts his foot in it. Very enjoyable! £3.73

TeaAndStrumpets · 26/03/2026 11:10

@Swanhilde it's so unfair!

TeaAndStrumpets · 26/03/2026 11:15

@DinoLil don't think you can palm off the kale on this lot!

We would put our bottles on the radiator but considering what the school dinners were like probably had no tastebuds as such.

TodayIsatrickyone · 26/03/2026 11:20

I also hate milk after 70s school milk put me off. Though I used to love it when it was my turn to be a milk monitor and I got to put the straws in and hand them out! That’s a memory I’d forgotten til the mention of those little bottles left out in the sun or with ice on top in the winter 😂

martha79 · 26/03/2026 11:26

Hello all! Welcome @DinoLil and urgh to school milk (early 80s here), I actually got excused from having it because it made me sick!

After the last few days at work I'm feeling like I've run a marathon and then been run over by a truck. I am working today but everyone is exhausted so nobody's expecting much. Off after today until Wednesday for a break - got a couple of meet-ups with friends organised but nothing too energetic.

FurForksSake · 26/03/2026 11:29

HBO max has landed on sky so I can now watch the Pitt! That will keep me busy.

Ahh once today is done, enjoy a well deserved break after a busy week.

Nearly Friday @MewithME 💐

FurForksSake · 26/03/2026 15:14

We’ve been and chosen me a new car, a bright yellow Renault five! I’ll turn some beads.

Torchout · 26/03/2026 15:17

Can I join in. I have kidney failure and im currently in for my dialysis. No pain except when they changed my dressing

I spent those morning trying to stay awake

MewithME · 26/03/2026 15:27

@DinoLil you'd get on with my boy. Year round ice cream/lolly obsession. He loves a fab 😄

Well, folks ... I am skiving. Is it too late for a Roobois tea @Swanhilde ?

I feel like I've hit a wall work wise. I worked until 12 and then sacked it off and had a cuppa with my friend which was wonderful. She was also skiving. We have compared ailments!

I have tomorrow to go and then annual leave.thank god.

I do need to do a bunch tomorrow but I am better resting today than pushing and pushing.

I am going to watch last one laughing later. I love Diane Morgan. She's fabulous. And lovely Bob.

Going to watch telly in bed now! I've got tummy ache after having a toastie for lunch. God knows what that's about. Probably MEcfs low energy and can't digest it. FFS ...it's a very silly illness. A sillness...as it were. DS loves a good portmanteau 😁

@BerfyTigot I think the readings were accurate and not something up with my gadget. I think my body goes in limp home mode like a car when it's a bit broken. Uses low energy and drops HR accordingly. Not often but has happened before.

Nice to see you here, hope it helps you pass the time. It must be so tedious being in hospital for hours on end. We're always here for a chat and a cuppa, @Swanhilde is our Refreshments Officer!

TeaAndStrumpets · 26/03/2026 15:47

@MewithME and @BerfyTigot yes limp mode is VERY accurate! I wish I could phone a service centre and have a mechanic sent out!
