Evening all. Sounds like we should have some sort of weight distribution system to make things fairer all round!

Feeling a bit rough after yesterday's outing followed by a restless night and a busy day at work today. But not as bad as I would have done doing the same a couple of months ago, so I'm feeling a bit positive whilst also tired and dizzy.

MewithME · 20/04/2026 20:18

@JewelleryCat I'm in my fifties and have MEcfs and awful joint pain. I was convinced I must have arthritis as well but my scans didn't show any issues. I have been offered some physio but too exhausted to cope /try it. It's just impossible to look after myself with these things when I have to look after my son and keep my job. No energy for anything else.

MEcfs can give joint pain but always worth checking out and not assuming it's that.

I have CFS which is diagnosed and I’m wondering about arthritis in stuff like my hips and knees. Do you watch Love your Weekend on a Sunday morning? I really like watching it even though I still find gardening boring lol. I prefer photographing the flowers

Yes definitely sounds like something else is going on. I also have me/cfs, hypermobility, chronic pain after a whiplash injury.

No I dont watch that show but maybe I should look it up! I do gardeners world religiously as well as various videos on YouTube.

JewelleryCat · 20/04/2026 20:31

Yes, I have hypermobile joints. You should see my knees go backwards lol. I have one leg a bit shorter than the other so I have always had a dodgy hip and I could do with losing weight to help my joints as well. Does anyone watch my 600lb life? I can’t believe some of the people on there

@bedfrog do look up love your weekend. ITV1 on a Sunday at 9.30am for two hours

That sounds so calming! Are you just getting rid of clutter or are you changing things in your house? I'm thinking of re-doing my front garden so its easier to keep on top of the weeds and pruning, for example!

I'm changing the overall way I live. The way rooms are used and how I want my house to flow. I haven't got round to the garden yet. I'm not particularly green fingered and my ex planted a lot but I need to make some changes to make that more manageable too.

Its all slow but meaningful change. The hardest bit is the decision making but it's worth it.

bedfrog · 20/04/2026 22:18

Sounds really good @Tiredandwired2, glad it's helping you out and making life that bit easier.

@JewelleryCatoh I have itv catchup so I'll add it to my list! Thank you

Had the most awful sleep. I woke up around midnight choking on acid that had come up. It was awful. Took me ages to go back to sleep, as I kept coughing. It felt so uncomfortable.

No idea why it was so bad. I had a bought quiche for tea and it wasn't good. I didn't digest it too well so maybe it was that.

Feeling a bit fed up. I just feel like I'm struggling to look after myself. I've got nothing left for me after looking after my son. There was drama at school yesterday and the exam period has been awful. I've just had enough of it all. 😭

Sorry to start the day with a whinge. At least I am WFH today but I have loads on. My body is vibrating away and tinnitus is loud.

I potted up 12 dahlias yesterday as they were sprouting in the cupboard. That was quite enough for one day.
Today I might sort out my summer/ winter clothes ready for a charity shop run.

bedfrog · 21/04/2026 08:36

Whinge away @MewithME! Sounds dreadful. Hope the drama has been resolved and exam period isn't too stressful. Make sure you have time to yourself Flowers
I get terrible indigestion (wake up nauseous, reflux) and have just started Famotidine. It's a medication that is sometimes used for ME / MCAS as it calms your immune system slightly. So hopefully a 2 for 1.

Dahlias sounds lovely @FuzzyPuffling I was thinking about getting some this year but keeping them in pots so I don't have to dig them up

martha79 · 21/04/2026 08:54

Ugh, that sounds like a horrible night @MewithME - indigestion is so uncomfortable. I'm sorry you're so low on energy.

I had an OK-ish sleep but woke up convinced it was the weekend, so that's disappointing. Just work today, running an event online but it's a nice one with a wellbeing theme. And doing some training for my colleagues where I promised to show them some stuff in Excel and now need to remind myself how to do it!

FuzzyPuffling · 21/04/2026 09:21

@bedfrog
I grow my dahlias in pots (very limited border space and a snail problem) and i do lift them in the autumn. Which in practice means tipping them out of the pots and putting them in the "pots of paint" cupboard over winter, then fresh compost now. Its a morning's job...at a slow pace, with coffee included!

Orangesandlemons77 · 21/04/2026 10:06

I saw the surgeon yesterday about the gallstones and the plan is to try keyhole surgery but if it doesn't work due to previous surgery / adhesions I will need to go on an NHS waiting list for open surgery or try some meds which might not work.

Fingers crossed it does work. At leat they are trying I suppose. I have had a lot of previous abdominal surgery, some emergency.

Glad that is over anyway. Today the plan is aqua aerobics but I'm not feeling like it.

Hoping for a good day for all Flowers

Dozymoo42 · 21/04/2026 11:52

Copilot is the answer! I ask it to tell me how to do all those niggly jobs in office apps now. 😊

Waving at everyone 👋

Quick hello as really unwell since Thursday with another dizzy/ unwell episode.

It then developed into the worst migraine I’ve ever had. Been lying in a dark room since Saturday. DH been to chemist but couldn't take the relevant meds as clash with my antidepressant. pain had me in tears.

Finally got call back from GP and got some meds yesterday afternoon. Some relief at last but Meds are now causing absolute exhaustion and more dizziness but fingers crossed it finally eases in the next day or two.

Sorry to be doom and gloom but it’s been absolutely awful. Currently just in tears with feeling so unwell.

Hope everyone is doing as okay as can be and I’ll catch up with the thread once things ease off.

MewithME · 21/04/2026 13:15

@TodayIsatrickyone you poor sausage! Sending lots of gentle hugs and hope you feel better soon. Sounds miserable.

FuzzyPuffling · 21/04/2026 15:10

Home from work and in bed with a cuppa and some fruit (and cheese) ☕

Okay day, legs behaving and I finally seem to be sleeping better 🤞

DH is cooking fish cakes for tea and then it'll be an early night (when isn't it??) 🥱

Have a restful evening all 💕

abracadabra1980 · 21/04/2026 17:42

Walking the dogs - 3 hours after I woke up - takes that long to get moving. They have a garden visit, toilet, their breakfast, then we all snooze for an hour or two before a morning walk. Admin this afternoon but had to give up after a couple of hours due to pain. More snoozing, they've had their tea, short walk early this evening. Nice day actually 😊

@TodayIsatrickyone I hope you feel better soon.

@MewithME sounds like a tough night. You can't seem to catch a break lately. It's so hard living with a limiting illness. Hope things with school have settled for your son.

Been a busy day today. Wish I could slow down. Everything seems important at the moment.
Daughtee has therapy and every since she is in a heightened state again. Strapping myself in for a emotional rough few days.

Cooks meals tonight for dinner. I have been living on cooks or Charlie bighams for nearly a month now with a few homemade easy meals thrown in. Wouldn't have survived without them.
