Good Morning All! What's everyone up to today?

lucysmam · 21/03/2026 08:39

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in not my morning spot yet. The cats have had breakfast & gone back to bed, and dd2's still sock on.

I have the washer on for the first of many loads this weekend - the basket's overflowing for some reason! And am off up to get dressed shortly.

The plan for the day is to crack on here with organising and unpacking. The in the way fridge freezer is being collected at some point (it's apparently been sold on Marketplace). If it's not, then I shall become a pain in the agent's backside on Monday - I'm already not thrilled with paying my rent to store someone else's unwanted white goods I repeatedly told them I did not want or need. Not keen on "at some point" being an acceptable timeframe either 🤔.

Hopefully by the end of today, I'll also have measured for a sofa!!

Tea will be pork loin steaks with salad and maybe wedges, accompanied by a glass of wine for me 🍷. Followed by an hour's crochet to finish a baby blanket, and then an early ish night 💤.

What about all of you? 🙂

Morning @lucysmam. Im still in bed but working today.
Need to get shifted soon..

JacknDiane · 21/03/2026 09:01

Hope you get the fridge freezer shifted @lucysmam, that sounds very unfair leaving it when you told them you didn't want it

RipplePlease · 21/03/2026 09:04

Just finishing my breakfast.
Then I’ll take the dog for a walk on the beach then back home to make a chocolate cake as DS2 will be back from Uni later.
Will pick up DD from work then me and DH will go out for chips in the car.
Back home I’ll do my strength workout then pick up DS2 from the station then a takeaway, probably Indian.
Sun is out 🙌🏻

Rowgtfc72 · 21/03/2026 09:10

Morning
Second cuppa of the day on the sofa with the sausage dog snuggled in.
Today I have a to do list. A very long list. I also have the week off work so the quicker the list is done the better.
Top of the list is cleaning the oven as its sending out smoke signals!
Roast gammon for tea as dd will be at karate for tomorrow's tea.

DilemmaDelilah · 21/03/2026 09:12

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone.

It's a beautiful sunny morning where we are, but very cold!

We have a grocery delivery arriving this morning. I have just received the notification and there are LOADS of things missing, which is very annoying! It means I will do another order for next week (I usually do one every 3 weeks or so). I get free deliveries so Morrisons will be sucking up the cost of the delivery, because they haven't got what I want but allowed me to order it anyway. They DO have the cauliflower I ordered for Mr Dilemma. I'm making him cauliflower cheese this evening, to go with some of yesterday's gammon. I will have chicken and vegetable stir fry.

My seedlings are doing well. My beetroot has started to sprout and my tomatoes and marigolds are nearly ready to prick out. the Welsh onions and peppers are taking a little longer, and the perennial leeks and marrows haven't started sprouting yet. We had some well-rotted horse poo delivered yesterday and Mr Dilemma is going to take it up to where we are putting the raised beds today. Then on Thursday when we have help in the garden we will ask him to take the compost out of our bin and mix it, and the horse poo, with some bought compost. My local daughter is having some wood chippings given to her by her aboriculturalist neighbour, so I may ask if she could have some extra to give to me, for mulching. It does depend what he's been chopping down though... not everything is suitable.

I don't have much else planned for today, except to make a batch of savoury pork and vegetable mince for the freezer once the fresh vegetables arrive. Which reminds me... I must put the soup mix (dried peas, lentils, pearl barley etc.) in water to soak beforehand.

I can tell spring is well on its way, because next door's children are playing loudly in the garden. Mrs next door is very considerate though, she doesn't allow them out until 9am. In fact - it is so often dead on 9am I know what time it is when I hear them out there!

Have a lovely day everyone.

Mydogisagentleman · 21/03/2026 09:15

Was up at 05.30 as usual. Had been up around 2am, I needed paracetamol after wisdom tooth removed last week.
Went to Tesco for 6.30, then hung out the washing.
About to drop dog off at my parents before we drive to Manchester (4ish hours).

OchreSwan · 21/03/2026 09:15

Morning all, and sorry to hear your struggles with estate agents @lucysmam- I feel like I’m always fighting with ours!

I’m just enjoying my first coffee with some toast (one slice marmalade, one slice berry jam). Off for a day out with friends so need to get moving shortly as we have a couple of hours in the car to get there. We’ve not 100% decided our plans for the day, definitely lunch and maybe a national trust property.

Not sure what time we’ll get back this evening but expect it will be late, so imagine we’ll pick up something quick and easy on our way home for dinner. Probably a glass of wine or two once we’re home too! It’s been a busy and quite stressful couple of weeks, so delighted to have a chilled weekend ahead.

Have a good day all!

Simonjt · 21/03/2026 09:17

Good morning. We’re landlords @lucysmam, the fridge is infringing your right to quiet enjoyment of your home.

It’s very sunny here today, the chickens have had a full clean this morning, so they’re now doing their best to trash their house when they could be enjoying the weather.

Its a sport weekend here, I have rugby, both the kids have dance and my husband has a cycling race, so we need to be really careful of timings to get everyone in the right place at the right time.

We’ll likely have a very lazy evening.

Have a lovely saturday.

Leavesandthings · 21/03/2026 09:19

Judgejudysno1fan · 21/03/2026 09:28

EstrellaPolar · 21/03/2026 09:31

Good morning everyone! I’ve come to visit my brother after my big 2026 holiday was cancelled (by me and due to some work deadlines shifting, but still sad).

He lives near the Swiss Alps so the plan today is lots of walking around the local forest, a hike in the afternoon, and reading in the sun for as long as I like.

In the evening I have to do a bit of work then I think we’ll have dinner and popcorn together, maybe a movie? Hope you all have a great weekend.

CharlotteStreetW1 · 21/03/2026 09:36

Morning all.

It's car service day which means I'm stuck at the garage for hours while I wait. I've got a full battery, a power bank and a book which should see me through. I try to think of it as quality me-time 😄

Had family round last night and I'm itching to finish clearing up when I eventually get home.

Friend's 60th party tonight which should be fun (and will hopefully supply food!).

Thislittlekitten · 21/03/2026 09:44

Morning Eveyone

We are driving DS to camp then heading out for brunch. Not sure where yet.

It’s a beautiful day NE Scotland. Big dog walk planned after this.

Later tonight going to get a take away for tea as it’s my birthday. My choice not to go out. I’m absolutely exhausted and looking forward to chilling out tonight.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 21/03/2026 09:53

Good morning lucysmam and others. That's very annoying for you.
I have had two coffees and a cuppa with a slice of toast. Then put a washing on, stripped the bed and went to Aldi. I've just had a second cuppa and another slice of toast. Shortly I'll do some more housework. I'm contemplating hanging out a washing as well. Dd is calling in at some point.
I bought a new car on Thursday, so I'm still getting used to it. Dgs2 will want to get in it when dd arrives, that's a certainly. Chicken curry for dinner. Enjoy your day all

mondaytosunday · 21/03/2026 09:56

Morning! I am a type 1 diabetic and I’m also on a diet in an effort to be at the same weight (or hopefully less) as I was last time I visited family in the US, which is where I’m headed this coming week. But one issue is I’ve had to adjust my insulin and though my dinners are the same size as normal I guess I’m not snacking after so need to reduce insulin more as I’ve been having low blood sugar at night even though I always test before I go to bed. Last night it was towards the bottom of the range but I still thought ok, but I had a bad hypo and feel cruddy this morning. And to top it off I had to eat something sweet to get it back up - a marshmallow treat bar in this instance. 150 unnecessary calories! Now dealing with the inevitable higher readings.
So feel yuck and am still in bed (did go down to feed the cats). The kitchen is a mess from last night, but I just don’t have the energy to do anything about it yet.
Today I need to send off my keys to the people staying to look after my cats, get some cash out to pay the teen who is coming to feed them for a few days before the housesitters arrive. Mow the lawn while it’s still dry out! Sort out the guest bedroom - wash the sheets etc.
My DD arrived back from uni a couple days ago and last night told me she didn’t pack pants as thought she had some here but can’t find any! Need to restock (annoying, as she has loads at uni). She’s still working - three essays due over the break and trying to get them done before we fly out. She’s burnt out and really needs a break (typical overachiever she takes on a lot of work outside the classroom and has a paid internship starting when she goes back).
I hate flying and travelling generally - love it when I’m at the destination though. Partly because I carry the stress of booking everything, being responsible for the passports, tickets, parking arrangements and so on, plus a fear of flying and can feel the stress rising already. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve checked the driving times between here and the airport.
Dinner will be pork with roasted veg. I’d love a glass of wine but off alcohol for Lent!

topcat2014 · 21/03/2026 09:57

Just opening DW art gallery, which I run on the weekends. Greetings cards outside, nice sunny day. Coffee on the go. Might do some Tik Toks later

ShetlandishMum · 21/03/2026 10:02

I need to get out of bed for a cup of tea. We were out yesterday for lunch and my body is hurting - the joy of chronic sickness.

Laundry and after lunch a trip to the zoo with DC3, a friend and her family.
Tea will be Danish chicken and asparagus tartlets. I did the tartlets and fillings yesterday. Just need to be heated. We haven't had that for a while so it's nice.

WonsWoo · 21/03/2026 10:02

DH and I have been and done a food shop. I’m gearing up to watch the BTS concert live on Netflix at 11 then we’re going out to lunch.

We’ll have a quiet afternoon and snacky tea as I imagine we’ll have a largish lunch out.

Changingplace · 21/03/2026 10:02

Morning all, I’ve just had my first cup of tea and some marmite on toast with cheese for breakfast, dog is snoozing next to me.

Going to yoga this morning, and planning some gardening this afternoon since it’s actually been dry for around a week I’m hoping I can mow the lawn for the first time this year.

Might go to the garden centre for some new plants depending on how much I get done.

Started a new job this week so happy to be not rushing around anywhere!

Rainbow1235 · 21/03/2026 10:03

Good morning lucysmam and to u all . Hope the fridge gets sorted soon as that being in the way would annoy me too . Beautiful day here in south wales we are popping out soon to get meat as all Dwn for dinner tomorrow. Had grandson no 1 to sleep last night as his mam worked late last night and in work again this morning but he’s as good as gold and so funny now . Hopefully will read my book in garden later then a few wines tonite watching the new Ellis series . Have a great and safe day all 🫶

Peridot1 · 21/03/2026 10:12

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone.

Hope they move the fridge/freezer soon @lucysmam. Annoying!

I have been up a while although not as early as usual. Didn’t get to sleep till after 2 and then woke up at 5.15. Finally managed to get back to sleep and didn’t wake until 8.30. Have had tea and a slice of toast and didn’t my puzzles.

DH has gone for a walk around the village to look at trees to cut down. Not as random as it sounds - he’s on the parish council and he and the other counsellors are looking at some trees that people have reported to look unsafe.

Did a quick tidy round and unloaded the dishwasher and reloaded it in case he brings anyone back for coffee.

We have been gardening a bit this week as the weather has been so nice. I might nip to either Morrisons or the garden centre as need a few plants for some planters.

Want to cut the grass under the washing lines so I can start hanging washing out. Might change a bed. Have some new garden furniture to unpack for new bit of garden.

Hoping for some time with my book. No idea what is for dinner. Might suggest fish and chips.

Menopausio · 21/03/2026 10:15

Day off, have already had the dog out for a long ish walk. Going for a look around the shops soon, brunch out then home to videocall the family ( we live abroad). Bit of batch cooking then a filmnight. Back to work tomorrow.

landlordhell · 21/03/2026 10:24

Just back from food shop and unpacked. Just hung washing out in the sun. Going out for lunch with DH to a favourite place for my belated birthday celebration.

gingercat02 · 21/03/2026 10:25

Morning all, we had a lovely lie in, I was out last night and DH hs had a rough week at work so not slept well. We both needed it 😴
Another beautiful day here. I have no plans, so I'm going to garden all day.
DH will cut the grass, but there is weeding, edging pruning and seed planting to be done.
Can't wait 🌱🌿⚘️🪻🌷🌻
Tea will depend whether DS is in or out. Maybe takeaway as we didn't have one yesterday.
Hope you have sunshine too, have a lovely day 😊

Taytocrisps · 21/03/2026 10:52

Morning @lucysmam and everyone else. I dropped DD to work earlier and then picked up a few bits in my local shop for breakfast. I've a long list of things to do, but I'm giving myself another 30 minutes to procrastinate, before I get stuck in.

It's a beautiful sunny day here and it feels like spring has finally arrived.
