I love the little kindnesses and feel it helps the world seem a little happier of a place.

Has anybody done anything kind for you this week?

My friend suggested we met up for coffee during my lunch this week she wasn't at work that day so got there early enough to get my coffee waiting for me so I wouldn't waste time in the queue when we could be catching up.

Another noticed I was struggling with the printer at work because I have a bad back and she filled the paper up for me. A simple gesture of feeling noticed. It cheered me up all day to be honest

My card would not work on the bus and I would of been late for school to pick up dc, a very kind lady paid the £2.60 for me so I was able to make it to school, she refused the payment back via transfer. Really nice of her and very much appreciated

My slimming world consultant has been so kind. I know people will say it's because she is paid to be but she writes such positive words on my diary hand ins. She's one of those genuinely wonderful people who gives her job her all and goes above and beyond. I'm a teacher and I know what it is to dig deep and present that best version of yourself even on the tired or poorly days. She does this and adds a lot of good into the lives of others.

Yes I’m a lollipop lady and due to roadworks there has been double the usual amount of traffic going past, but so many drivers have been patient and stopped in anticipation. One of the regular taxi drivers always waves at me now. Just little gestures like that are so kind,

I helped organise an event. The organiser bought me some flowers to say thank you. I did not expect them at all.

Ilovecheeseyah · 21/03/2026 08:33

Love this thread. I know it is cheesy (so please forgive me), but my boyfriend does so many kind things for me almost daily, that I keep making a mental note to reciprocate but then there are so many that I cannot possibly. I think kindness is so underrated and looking at the news that is what we need right now.

Probably the kindest thing ever done was our tourist guide in Sri Lanka who saved my family and I from the tsunami. I was having a breakdown the night before and praying to God to give me sign in my life.

You never know what someone is going through and a little kindness can be transformative.

I can’t think of anything but i have been more of a hermit than usual but we had a new back door fitted yesterday and he did a great job and I am very grateful.i know it is his job but does that count ?

Tigercrane · 21/03/2026 08:45

Helped me leave an awful workplace, by showing me other jobs in other places.I am very grateful.

FamingolosForDays · 21/03/2026 08:48

My bosses boss sent me a lovely email telling me I was doing a good job after a pretty crap week. I needed to hear it.
My best friend organised flowers from my DC last Sunday. Completely unexpected and made me cry.

My grandson has called in on his way home from school everyday this week to make sure I’m ok and to fill me a flask of tea. I’ve had a seizure and injured myself so I’m avoiding the kettle for obvious reasons and I’m quite sore. He helped me have a short walk around my garden yesterday too. He’s golden x

New neighbours (moved in January) went around our cul de sac giving every house a little Eid gift. Totally out of the blue. Lit up the street whatsapp.

Brightbluesomething · 21/03/2026 10:13

A very lovely friend lent me some technology this week so that I wouldn’t miss something that was really important to me. He spent ages setting it up for me too. He didn’t have to but he made my day.

HopSpringsEternal · 21/03/2026 10:18

Our very multicultural street WhatsApp always has people wishing people of other faiths happy whatever. Yesterday was Eid but also Iranian New Year and Spring Equinox for our one Pagan. Very cheering.

Britpopbaby · 21/03/2026 14:04

Handed my AirPods case in the same place and day that I handed someone’s water bottle and ear pods in.

blackheartsgirl · 21/03/2026 14:12

Two office staff take it in turns to make me a brew everytime I go in. I’m a cleaner and it’s really appreciated.

another cleaner colleague bought me a pack of pork scratchings as she knows I like them

I get more kindness shown to me by others than I do my own family and it’s nice.

WonsWoo · 21/03/2026 14:13

Adult DD is staying with us for a couple of months between house/job moves. I wfh.

She has made or bought me lunch almost every day and she brings me coffee when I’m stuck in back to back calls. I’ll be sad when she leaves again!

mondaytosunday · 21/03/2026 14:15

Not to me but a young guy helped my DD up the stairs with her heavy suitcase at the train station. End of a long journey and a couple changes she was happy to accept!

Lengokengo · 21/03/2026 14:16

A friend organised and paid for a lovely lunch in a posh hotel yesterday. It was really thoughtful.

TheNameWasOnceChosen · 21/03/2026 14:22

Every day. But I've had a stroke and people are very kind.

ohyesido · 21/03/2026 14:35

Yes. A lovely young lady behind the counter in a Co Op in Chelmsford (there’s 100s) told me she loved my jeans and that I looked really good in them. I was actually fretting about not fitting into them anymore so she really made my day

doitwithlove · 21/03/2026 15:26

Two separate work colleagues brought in cake for no reason on Thursday & Friday this week. Always a winner with an afternoon cuppa ☕️

Shmee1988 · 21/03/2026 15:34

My DP bought me a dishwasher!! I have wanted one for ages. 😀

TabbyBeast · 21/03/2026 15:51

A server at Starbucks gave me a free brownie!

I try to do little things to make someone smile; I was the opticians recently and a woman on her own was trying on glasses. Are tried on a pair which were perfect for her so I told her that they really suited her. She seemed really happy 😊

Tonissister · 21/03/2026 15:54

A friend brought some toys and cat litter over for our new rescue cat.

DH has cooked all week as I have had a work deadline. Yesterday he also came home with some daffs and a bar of 80% dark chocolate.

Downdowndownunder · 21/03/2026 15:56

Yes my next door neighbour weeded my front and tidied it up whilst she was doing her own this morning.

itsgettingweird · 21/03/2026 16:07

Yes.

A colleague and I were chatting a few weeks ago about something.

She brought me a little set and left it on my desk so I arrived to a lovely little gift yesterday.

The value of being heard and thought about is an important as the actual gift imo.
