Can I tell you about my bittersweet morning? Epic first world problem.

Today I had a dental appointment followed by a smear test followed by coffee with a colleague I mentor where I had to gently inform him he's on the chopping block.
Awful.

DH said he'd do a deep clean while I was out to make me feel better.
Knowing how much I love it, he even ordered Zoflora to use so the house would smell lovely, and last night was googling the right dilution ratios.
Brilliant.

But he ordered the one Zoflora fragrance that I hate. And then deep cleaned the whole fucking house with it. So every room and every single surface within every room has been doused wiped down with the horrible stuff.
Awful.

My house is gleaming.
Brilliant.

But it stinks.
Awful.

He also put my mountain of gym kit - basically every single gym top I own and most pairs of leggings - in for their monthly wash.
Brilliant.

But slugged a capful of Zoflora in there to get rid of smells and bugs. So not only does my house stink of the horrible stuff, so does all my gym kit.
Awful.

Its such a first world problem but bloody hell. I really needed to share this with someone.

Haha you'll be wanting to scratch your nose off for weeks 😂 the best laid plans and all of that. X

Plump82 · 13/03/2026 12:34

The smell will fade eventually.

WildLeader · 13/03/2026 12:34

Which scent? We need to fully understand your first world problem

saveforthat · 13/03/2026 12:35

What is zoflora and why didn't you tell him your preffered fragrances?

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 13/03/2026 12:36

Stuff of nightmares

Lindy2 · 13/03/2026 12:37

I need to know the scent.

Most are lovely but I have a very dubious cucumber and mint one. Is it that?

The smell will fade quickly though. Just spray a different fragrance around for a bit.

WhoreDing · 13/03/2026 12:38

@WildLeader It's the fresh linen scent. To me it smells like stale drains.

Hotcrossed · 13/03/2026 12:38

That would happen to me

Twoshoesnewshoes · 13/03/2026 12:38

Oh I’m am sorry OP!
also agree though that we need to know the scent

It’s a household cleaning product with a range of scents

Hotcrossed · 13/03/2026 12:39

I like fresh linen scent

dudsville · 13/03/2026 12:40

Your post made me laugh in that very sympathetic, yes that's all a bit crap, kind of way. If I were you I'd be careful, this day has it in for you. 😂

WhoreDing · 13/03/2026 12:40

@Lindy2 This was my plan but I can't do it just yet because DH is very pleased with his efforts.

I know. We're planning an Indian take away later on but now I suspect I'll just end up with food poisoning.

Though... that having the epic shits might be a good excuse to douse the bathroom in bleach and spray copiously. Every cloud.... 😅

Monthly wash?!

NutellaEllaElla · 13/03/2026 12:48

Light a candle, it’ll burn away any smells

I knew it would be this one. Supposed to smell fresh and clean. Just smells stale.🤨

saveforthat · 13/03/2026 12:49

I know I'm missing the point of the thread but can't imagine dousing the whole of the house with an artificial scent. Must be awful for anyone with respiratory problems.

mumof5five · 13/03/2026 12:50

Fresh linen zoflora is my favourite cleaning fragrance EVER

saveforthat · 13/03/2026 12:50

Pootles34 · 13/03/2026 12:45

Monthly wash?!

I read that as she has enough to go a month without running out.

WhoreDing · 13/03/2026 12:52

Pootles34 · 13/03/2026 12:45

Monthly wash?!

I realise that makes me sound minging.

I wear gym tops once or twice, dry them out and then put them ready to be washed. I wear leggings a few times, dry them out and then put them ready to be washed.

Once I've run out of tops - roughly monthly - I put the whole lot on to wash.

I'm not a minger.

I know, right. There's nothing remotely fresh or linen smelling about it.

Bastards.

Don’t do it then.

Whosthetabbynow · 13/03/2026 12:57

I quite like the linen one…

Mildmanneredmum · 13/03/2026 13:03

There is an expression "carpe diem", ie seize the day. No day likes being seized and it puts it in a bad mood from the very start. Maybe that's what happened, and all you can do is just wait for bedtime .....
