Which classic British TV and game shows would you bring back?

What british tv shows/game shows would you bring back.
was watching the wall with my mum the other day and it low key reminded me of goldenballs for whatever reason. I said to my mum I would love if they brought that back, that was brutal and I loved it and funnily enough we both said at the same time it’s should be rylan Clark to present it as jasper carrott is obviously no longer with us.
other shows I’d love for them to bring back or do another special.
i would love for a royal family Christmas episode every year but I doubt they’d do it without Caroline ahern

goodness gracious me - funny as hell. Although this generation of snowflakes probably won’t like it.

little Britain - another one that wouldn’t go down well with this generation. And yes I’m aware about the scandals surrounding David Williams but it was still hilarious.

Grange Hill but back in london. Like the old times.

I don’t know if any one remembers but absolutely loved children’s ward…

Stars in your eyes
Blind Date - but only of we can bring Cilla back

Gingerkittykat · 12/03/2026 04:50

I loved Children's ward too!

I would bring back Bullseye, I love watching the old episodes on Challenge.

I wonder what the prizes would be now?

NellyTimes · 12/03/2026 05:57

Jasper Carrott is still alive!

Come Dancing - the original version with amateur dancers in huge puffball dresses competing for Home Counties North vs Midlands and West. None of this celebrities and their 'journey', bring back the Magenta Tango, the Military Two-Step, and the Frank and Peggy Spencer Formation Team!

They did bring back Bullseye a couple of times but it wasent the same.

Another vote for Come Dancing. Possibly with a title change.

Otherwise… not many. They brought back Faking It recently which I loved so much but I haven’t got round to watching it yet. The other one I thought was excellent was Would Like To Meet… not sure if it would work on the apps and with so few shops to visit…

Bullseye was brought back last year, Sunday nights at 7 with Freddie Flintoff.

It was shit.

Um, Deal or No Deal has been back on since 2023...

Sprawling · 12/03/2026 10:20

Definitely not a classic, in fact it was mildly shite and I don’t think ran for more than a short single season, but I enjoyed it anyway — Interceptor.

Two hapless contestants, one of whom is carrying a locked backpack of money, the other a similarly weighted but empty one, are dropped off a few miles apart in countryside and have to meet up, guided by Annabel Croft via radio, and exchange keys to open the backpacks and win the money, while a very good-looking blond man in black leather chases them in a helicopter and tries to zap their packs to prevent them winning the cash.

This is going back a bit, but I very much enjoyed Face the Music and Call My Bluff.
Sadly, I think these would be considered too "high brow" today.

@AmazingGreatAunt They are at least repeating those on BBC 4 on Monday nights at 9 pm. You can usually find the most recently screened on iPlayer too. But yes, can't see Face the Music returning. Bluff was resurrected, and could easily work on radio.

Yeah, I remember that. It was enjoyable crap but designed to catch the audience that had been watching the recently finished Treasure Hunt on C4 (hence keeping Annabel Croft and the helicopter element).

I guess Hunted is a bit of a successor in a way. But Treasure Hunt was still good when they cancelled it. Mistake. Bbc2 brought it back many years later but didn't catch on as it should have (too often abroad; the joy of it being in Britain was viewers at home could join in more).

KimberleyClark · 12/03/2026 11:45

I always enjoyed The Cube. Wish they would bring it back (with different presenter obv!).

ACynicalDad · 12/03/2026 11:46

Going for Gold, must include the turntables.

This is what I came on to say. I would 100% sign up for it now. I was DESPERATE to have a go at the assault course when I was a kid.
