Someone I knew got a giant size Chanel bottle of perfume from a promotion!

I’ve had nothing of note

I get loads! Best one probably a huge tv but also got a massive American fridge freezer recently too. I think the postman hates me but I get things every week due to my job.

Muckypig · 06/03/2026 14:23

My dog was a pretty good one.

Tintackedsea · 06/03/2026 14:26

33 boxes of mint matchmakers as a supermarket substitute for two boxes of after 8s.

it remains the best day of my life.

£700 Mulberry duffle coat (30 years ago and still going strong)

Multiple spa stays (some overseas)

Many, many, many, many cosmetic / skin care products. Multiple hundreds.

Samsonite luggage.

Upgrade from Economy to First on a 12hr flight.

Loads more but they’re the things that come to mind.

Mumsnet used to do product testing. I had a sat nav and a Dyson hoover.

Fbfbfvfvv · 06/03/2026 14:30

I ordered a big bottle of Malibu with my online food shopping and they accidently sent me 2 (but only charged for the 1). I contacted them and they just thanked me for letting them know and told me to keep it!

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 06/03/2026 14:32

My dog!

And once Ocado had an extra random bag of bits of fridge groceries in the van and I was the last stop that night. So the delivery fella gave it to me because it would all be thrown if he took it back.

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 06/03/2026 14:39

My brother won a PlayStation the day they were first released. That was pretty epic.

About 10 years ago I won an Instagram giveaway for a coat from Lavish Alice, I think the RRP was around £120. It's lovely and I still wear it throughout the colder months.

Peacexbliss · 06/03/2026 14:44

NHS dentist.

afaloren · 06/03/2026 14:45

A small thing but: this doesn’t happen so much anymore since the advent of parking apps however I used to love it when you were about to pay for parking and someone would give you their ticket that still had a few hours on it when they were leaving.

NorthEastFartHead · 06/03/2026 14:46

Weird one but my friend was emigrating and gave me a bag of dried chick peas the size of a small pensioner.

I had to get very inventive with recipes to use the bloody things up. I tried lots of new foods, got really confident in cooking, developed a bit of a palate for flavours that work well together, and really changed my approach to low-cost food and cupboard basics.

tinyprophet · 06/03/2026 14:47

Upgrade from economy to business on long haul flight

An armchair

Small but lovely gesture - man behind me paid for some chocolates when I forgot my phone at till - did make me feel a bit weird though

blizymitzy · 06/03/2026 14:50

Upgrades to first class on flights for dd and I to jfk .

free London eye visit with afternoon tea for all 5 of us on the eye during the 2012 olympics as a perk with our credit card

TheNinkyNonkyIsATardis · 06/03/2026 14:54

My brother won a Porsche.

We got VIP tickets to a tennis thing. We were entirely uninterested in the tennis, but the hospitality was excellent. If I hadn't been pregnant I'd have got wasted on free champagne.

PatchworkWellies · 06/03/2026 14:54

When my first child was born, my husband bought me a food hamper from Fortnum and Mason. Needless to say, I was delighted. A week later, another one arrived!! We rang and explained what had happened and they told us to keep it. 😁 We still use the baskets for toy storage 10 years later.

Handyweatherstation · 06/03/2026 15:03

I got DH a Klingon bat'leth for his birthday one year and it came with a free longsword in a leather scabbard. We don't have any use for a sword but it looks rather fine.

anddeepbreathandsigh · 06/03/2026 15:04

Oh some lovely examples

Here’s me thinking a free Greggs porridge was a great freebie!

Spaceandco · 06/03/2026 15:09

I got a free front door from a door company because I found thousands of flyers they had had printed and lost (never asked how) they were so grateful they offered me a front door to say thank you, I was so chuffed 😂

onelumporthree · 06/03/2026 15:12

I used to get free tickets to the Ideal Home Exhibition every year through work.

Can't think of anything else of note... Oh yes - when a previous employer was moving premises there was a load of really good antique furniture in the attic that had to go, and I got a mahogany tea trolley that was well over 100 years old. It's been in my loft ever since though.😂

Tarkan · 06/03/2026 15:13

Our wedding venue. 😁 We paid a £100 deposit and paid £2k for the Indian restaurant downstairs from it to do the catering (best wedding food ever LOL) and then people spent so much at the bar at our venue we got the deposit back so the venue itself was actually free. 😁

Statsquestion1 · 06/03/2026 15:13

I have had lots of freebies…best ones
-Flight upgrades to 1st class to Barbados
-my whole house painted…🙌🙌

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 06/03/2026 15:15

On a gorgeous holiday in the Caribbean and we had a phone call during breakfast to say sorry, but we wouldn’t be leaving that evening - flight would be delayed by 24 hours - and I hadn’t even started packing! 🙂. No extra charge for the hotel.
Still a SAHM with young dcs then, so no problem with return to work.
