Getting rid of my jowls is the plan!

I also am hoping to lessen my double chin - not sure if it'll work though as it is quite bad

Not sure if I should try to lift my eyelids?

Experiences very much appreciated

Have you had a consultation yet? Your OP sounds like you’re playing it by ear?

user746016 · 05/03/2026 19:08

Be prepared to come out feeling like you look like a freak. It settles but initially is likely to be a shock. Don't do too much at once.

I've only had fillers once and would never do it again but everyone is different. Trying to get rid of jowls by making other areas of your face larger is going to make your face feel very different.

Theredjellybean · 05/03/2026 19:13

How exactly are fillers getting rid of your double chin and lifting your eyelids?
Sounds odd...are you going to a reputable doctor or clinic ?
I have Botox in forehead to lift eyelids
And filler in nasolabial lines and a little along cheek bones to give more lift to face overall.

MadKittenWoman · 05/03/2026 19:20

I have cheek fillers twice a year which lift the jowls somewhat but I’m now having a course of Sculptra in the sides of my face to improve the jawline further.

Cheek fillers, together with a small amount in the naso-labial and marionette lines, have made the most dramatic difference to my face and have virtually eradicated the deep lines I use to have.

I wouldn’t mess about with your eyes until you’ve seen the effects of the filler which is more or less instantaneous.

A good practitioner will just make you look fresher, not fake.

It's done by injecting along the jawline to make the jawline larger and the skin is therefore stretched more across the area. Generally done by adding cheek filler at the same time to have the same effect.

Your face ends up looking bigger all round.

ForAmusedHazelQuoter · 05/03/2026 19:22

I don’t know about double chin and eye lids but it’s brilliant for jowls.

Absolutely bonkers. What have we come to as a species!

The massive stretched filler face look is so awful. Like turkey teef which are all too big for the face. It doesn't make people look younger, just bigger and stretched. Awful.

In your opinion. Do what makes you happy OP. Ive not had filler but i have regular 6 monthly botox. For you eye lift, you will need botox.

"Massive stretched face" 😂

I am only having a bit of filler - I'm hardly going to come out like the Bride of Weinstein after one session 😁

Fillers don’t give you a big, fat face if done by a reputable, medical practitioner. They simply restore the volume lost through ageing, in my case using hyaluronic acid. Sculptra forms a matrix which builds lost collagen. It’s similar to dyeing your roots to replace lost hair colour.

Allseeingallknowing · 05/03/2026 19:48

Be prepared for some bruising. I stopped taking aspirin a few days before. If there is bruising, use arnica cream. It would take a lot of filler to lessen jowls! I have 1 ml which improves naso labial/marionette lines. It evens them out a bit and never looks overdone. I wouldn’t have them along the jawline as I think it will make it look too heavy.

HDHSHK237 · 05/03/2026 19:39

because it made my face larger all over which made my eyes and lips look smaller (they were already small) and it felt very strange to have a more squared off jawline. I felt like a freak for about 4-5 weeks.

I had it done two years ago. It's all dispersed now so whatever is left no longer gives me any added structure.

These threads are so depressing.

Women queuing up to transform themselves from looking like human beings to become plastic clones of each other.

I have never seen anyone with fillers who didn't look like a puffer fish. Jim Carrey?

Shock

Having had awful moonface from steroids I am baffled anyone would do this to themselves willingly . Not recognising your own reflection is really psychologically unsettling

I just look in the mirror less. Saves a fortune on tweakments

I'm not having cheek fillers like he did.

Just the jowls and jawline to help lessen the double chin

Then they will probably be squaring off your jaw and adding to your chin. You effectively have filler where your jaw ends on each side of your face so it looks far more square. It won't have as much of an effect without being paired with cheek filler though.

I can’t see how fillers will lessen a double chin. If anything it would look worse!

How could it make the double chin worse?

OP posts:
user746016 · 05/03/2026 21:11

It won't make it worse. This was mine (although I had a lot of filler in my jawline (you can't see on this photo but at the back it's more squared) plus my chin and my cheeks. The different angle of the two photos makes it look more effective than it actually looked but it did improve it. I had a lot of filler though. About 5ml I think from memory

Im 52

HDHSHK237 · 05/03/2026 21:48

Thank you for posting those pictures @user746016 - I can really see the difference!!
And it looks very natural - no massive puffer fish/ square-face at all 😁

Was it 5ml just in the jaw area or did that include the cheeks too?

I’d be worried about chipmunk cheeks! Plus if you have a facelift, having had lots of filler can make it more difficult.
