I some distraction.

I’ve taken my beta blocker but my thoughts are spiralling. I find it really hard to get on top of it 😭

I have epilepsy too! Which kind do you have? I worry a lot when I have a seizure as well. It's a horrible feeling

I used to just have the standard tonic clonic seizures but over the last 3 years it’s all gone to pot and I now go into non-convulsive status epilepticus. Back to back abscences for hours and on end. Last time it lasted 20 hours.

Do you think or know if peri or menopause is related? Just wondered

Is stress one of your triggers?@LondonLady1980

Lack of sleep is one of mine. You on propranolol for anxiety?

Stress is a big trigger, as well as lack of sleep.

I know I need to sleep but I can’t switch off.

I recently had bloods done to check my hormone levels as I was querying peri-menopause but everything came back normal.

@LondonLady1980 I've tried all sorts to help me sleep over the years. It's tricky when you have epilepsy as a lot of things are unsuitable.

Have you ever tried a magnesium supplement from Holland and Barrett? This worked so well for me it completely changed my life.

I needed my neurologist to confirm it was ok to try though. 💐 just an idea

No, I don’t need to be seen tonight. I have a very good plan set out by my neurologist team though about how often I can have my emergency drugs and when to call 999 etc. I just get so worried about it escalating to that point ☹️

It's very understandable you feel anxious/worried 💕

I have different health issues but they could also end up putting me (back) in hospital (or worse). I live alone & it's sometimes very scary.

I do a couple of things that help me, I don't know if they will help you or not, the first one is opening the back door and standing in the doorway or sitting on the step, I find the fresh air and just being outside really helps, while I'm there, I message a friend just to let them know what's happened and ask them to get my neighbour to check on me in the morning if I don't contact them to say I'm okay by a set time.

My neighbour is amazing and would do whatever is needed (she has a key and isn't afraid to use it!!🤣) however I need my friend as a middleman because I know she will remember to check. I have contacted her first thing in the morning. Whereas with my neighbour it could be late in the day or she may forget entirely.

This system allows me to go to sleep without being worried that no one would notice me missing for days on end.

I message with several friends daily, but I also value my independence so none of them would check on me just because they haven't heard from me that day because I might be busy doing other things

big hugs & I hope you can relax enough to get some sleep xx
