My view right now is a foggy Monday morning with a few birds flying past.

I'm just seeing squirrels.

We’ve got a black squirrel in our local park. It’s very handsome.

Is the LiW thread a bit quiet or something? Why are posters from there gatecrashing here?

War is lucrative business

Mordaunt was on LK this morning supporting Trump.

Had Starmer backed Trump 100%, she would have been on LK supporting the UK staying out of it all and saying "Have we learnt nothing from Blairs disasterous Iraq war....

countrygirl99 · 09/03/2026 09:45

I oiled my horses legs this morning so I stink of sulphur.

PandoraSocks · 09/03/2026 09:51

Farage at Palm Beach. Don't they all look transfixed by what ever it is he is saying?

The best armchairs are firm enough to be supportive but not too high, IMO. I'm sure others have their own views on armchairs, some based on fact and others, purely opinion. I'm always wary of what someone trying to sell me an armchair has to say, though.

PandoraSocks · 09/03/2026 09:59

I hear some have armchairs in their mum's basement.

RelativisticJet · 09/03/2026 10:20

More importantly, why the continued obsession with Farage?

It’s not healthy.

I am planning to get rid of my sofa and replace it with a selection of armchairs.

I wonder if - despite Oscars quip - there is such a thing as too much publicity ?

Farage appearing everytime there is a crisis may sow the wrong impression in some potential voters.

I am no fan of Farage and suspect that he may have had his 15 minutes.
My focus remains on the consequences of Starmer’s government.

That's a broad remit. Is it the biscuit selection in the cabinet office, or keeping the UK out of a rich mans war ?

BestIsWest · 09/03/2026 10:57

Small brown furry creature on the patio this morning. Big mouse or small rat. Not a squirrel.
Interestingly one of the Welsh names for rat is llygoden fawr (big mouse).

Dog is too busy snoring to be doing his job.

The dog is wise not to be venturing outside if the weather is as misty and murky as it is here.

BestIsWest · 09/03/2026 11:11

He doesn’t like getting wet to be fair.

placemats · 09/03/2026 11:19

Very still and overcast today, no misty rain yet. The two competing smells are the chippy two streets back and the local farmer muck spraying.

@BestIsWest your dog is wise and good.

Administration of the UK.

Administration of the UK.

In relative or absolute terms ?

PickAChew · 09/03/2026 12:23

Been on a nice slow bus ride with DS2. Caught a fair few pokemon. Lots of these spawning.

I’m meeting a friend later to plan a trip to Carcassonne. I’ve wanted to go for ages.

It's very pretty, but there's not a huge amount to do there, so don't plan for a month...

Love Carcassonne. We stayed in a cottage, brother and friend, about 15 miles away. Imagine my surprise when it was on a channel 4 place to buy abroad programme - can't remember the name.

We also took a trip to Andorra and then to a gorge where you have to wait to drive down, single lane only. You'll need a car.

Do you live in relative or absolute terms?
