Any movies or tv shows that got to the grand finally and you were like "what the actual fuck!"

Mine was Lost. Felt it was a rushed lazy ending.

They weren't dead all along @Flocke

That’s my point. I am annoyed at the amount of people that think they were dead all along. Not that I think that.

The ending of Lost didn’t bother me. I’d resigned myself to the fact they didn’t know what they were doing in about season 3. The only thing that annoys me about it is the amount of people who still think they were dead all along! 🤣

Slightly different but an ending I hate/makes me feel horrible is the film The Mist. I really like the film but can’t watch the ending.

But they weren't dead all along.

Mine is How I Met Your Mother. So many seasons building up to meeting the mother and then they just kill her off for Ted to get with bloody Robin.

I think I must have worded my post very badly. I meant I get annoyed at the amount of people who think they were dead all along.

I thought you just said you knew they weren’t? I’m very confused now.

ChaChaChaChanges · 28/02/2026 22:52

@Flocke you’re talking to two different posters. One did think they were all dead, one didn’t.

You didn’t. You worded it correctly.

But you are correct, by season 3 it was
obvious the writers hadn’t any big plan and were just making it up if as they went along.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 28/02/2026 22:54

Mad Men. It felt like a whimper when it should have been a bang.

@ChaChaChaChanges i needed to go check as I admit I’ve been out tonight and had some wine. But this was the first post by @Yourangduckie then she replied again at 22.48 with “I thought they were dead all along”

Yourangduckie · 28/02/2026 22:54

Sorry for the confusion I should have put a ?

Most recently Stranger Things.
Where were the demogorgans?
Why did The Abyss look like a desert?
Why did it go on forever after the final battle?

Knittedanimal · 28/02/2026 22:58

First series of Killing Eve ending was shite.

Rockfordpeach · 28/02/2026 23:00

Umbrella Academy. Started so well and just confused itself by the end. I loved it and was so disappointed

AutumnAllTheWay · 28/02/2026 23:07

Re lost!

The point is that ot was so bad that nobody cared by the end if they were dead all along or not 😂

What an insult that final episode was. Like they'd got the cadt together and filmed the smug wrap party instead of an episode.

Such a letdown when the first two series were so gripping

Valeyard15 · 28/02/2026 22:46

Star Wars Episode IX

That is all...

Oh yes. What a car crash.

LiveLaughLogLady · 28/02/2026 23:13

Hard agree with Lost. I dedicated hours of my life to that show! What makes me even more mad is the people who say the ending was great and those who hated it just didn't get it! Nope I got it, but it was still shite!

AWedgeOfLemonAndASmartAnswerForEverything · 28/02/2026 23:14

I don't bother with very long running TV shows. They tend to only have a decent enough concept / story arc to last two or three series, then they jump the shark or just rewrite the characters as if their previous backstories never happened. Winds me right up.

I like films, and limited series with a caveat - if you're going to drag a story out for more than two hours, know where it's going, and make sure you've enough material to sustain it. I don't want three hours of filler in a ten episide miniseries.

Allaboutstu · 28/02/2026 23:17

Brookside spin off, Debbie and Damon. Went from ahhhh to NO!!!! in 60 seconds!

LBB2020 · 28/02/2026 23:19

X Files and Lost

MissisBee · 28/02/2026 23:22

Merlin. The last series showed so much promise then it went all weird

First series of Killing Eve ending was shite.

As was the final. A friend of mine was in the writer's room for KE and I need to go back and see which episodes she was involved in so that I don't accidentally offend her the next time it comes up! (Of course if she was involved in the final episode then I might just have to jettison the friendship! Joking... probably!)

Mounjarojourney · 28/02/2026 23:25

One Day - devastated by that ending.

Flyndo · 28/02/2026 23:32

Game of Thrones. So good for so long, really felt like there would be a sensible arc to it (apart from Bran) then WTF was that whole last series?

bumblebee1000 · 28/02/2026 23:33

Prisoner cell block H....just seemed to fizzle out...

101jobs · 01/03/2026 09:14
