Mine is amongst others that carbonara should only ever be made with long pasta, none of your penne, or fusili nonsense.

Hmm. The words don’t exist in a vacuum. They are the words that people say.

what else could you use to eat it??

The emphasis was the SOUP spoon. Not a dessert or other type of spoon.

I don't think getting a shelter dog is 'accepting a dog because it’s free' Confused; it's a conscious choice to rehome a dog in need. And as an aside I think a lot of shelters ask for a fee to cover vaccinations etc.

I know more than one person who can certainly afford dog care and have bought puppies, but have not bothered to train/socialise them properly and are therefore not responsible owners. Having money and seriously wanting a dog doesn't automatically mean someone is a good owner.

Very true. We have kept (specifically bred) working labradors for years now. They have all been trained to a very high standard and well socialised which takes a lot of work and commitment. We've spoken recently about rehoming a 'failed' guide dog in the future when we no longer need a working dog. I agree that it's often those looking to re-home a dog that are more likely to put the time and effort in. It's often those that fork out a lot of money on what are effectively fashionable mongrels that don't ensure their dogs are well trained.

Dessert spoon? Tablespoon? Not all restaurants use soup spoons.

Definitely a hill I'd die on. Men can't be women no matter what they do to try and make it so

👏

I came on to see if anyone was dying on the same hill as me, found you pretty early on.

I will NEVER, as long as I am breathing, go along with the TWAW bollox. My boiling piss will burn me alive first.

GarlicBound · 19/02/2026 19:13

It's ridiculous to suppress a person's work because they were an arsehole.

Fireworks are great! So are drone displays, but the one can't replace the other.

Microfibre's a brilliant invention. Shame about the particle shedding, but all things have a cost.

The only tolerable vegan is a vegan who doesn't go on about it.

It's vanishingly unlikely that your child is a genius.

I'm not willing to pretend people can change sex and, therefore, will not be using "your pronouns".

silentnight000 · 19/02/2026 19:13

Owning animals is not a right, if you can’t afford to keep them properly, including adequate space, enrichment, exercise, food, company and veterinary care then you shouldn’t have them. Not being able to afford a big enough cage is not an acceptable reason to keep pets in too small or inappropriate enclosures. Don’t have them then. I don’t care if it’s your support animal, or you love them. Treat them properly.

On a similar topic, well trained off lead dogs who don’t jump up, run off or annoy other people or pets are fine but still only in appropriate areas. Even they aren’t ok in areas which state ‘no dogs’ or ‘no off lead dogs’. Those signs mean your dog, no matter how lovely and well behaved they are. Poorly trained dogs should be kept on lead everywhere where you might encounter other people or pets, unless you’re going to hire sole use of a facility in which case knock yourself out.

People who fail to pick up their dogs poop should have their animals taken away and be fined heavily.

Those are just my animal ones!!

Addicted to chocolate covered pistachios!

I occasionally buy dried mango slices in dark chocolate. 😋

Leggings are not trousers, and shouldn't be worn with anything shorter than hip length, whatever size you are.

Pets are better than people.

Someone who drinks decaf coffee in the morning is basically a walking bright red flag.

People who like other peoples children are odd.

Why are people who like other people's children odd?

in my opinion most people tend to use cereal spoons. the large ones that are oval (ovoid?) shaped. Soup spoons in my opinion are round and almost never sold these days. I must admit when I was young I used the small spoons (a large tea spoon) because my teeth were crooked and to use a larger spoon of any shape was painful.

You should only be able to vote after successfully answering a couple of questions to confirm that you know what you are voting about. We left the EU because 90% of people didn’t actually know what it would mean for the country.

I was going to include this one, too! Now I'm dying on 7 hills, which is probably enough dying for anyone 😆

WhenRealityHits · 19/02/2026 19:23

Will never use "preferred pronouns" for anyone - it's the beginning of the end.

Tacohill · 19/02/2026 19:24

The hill I'll die on is I'll take my medical advice from peer-reviewed studies conducted by scientists and approved by national drug approval agencies and prescribed by doctors with medical insurance and professional standards - and not random internet posters who work in the department in a clinic.

100% this!!!

It blows my mind that people choose to listen to some random woman on Facebook who barely passed GCSE science over the actual professionals.

Too many times I’ve seen nonsense coming from people who take WLIs, anti-vaxeers or covid conspiracists.
The same can be said for those who blindly believe that certain races are more dangerous to our kids than others.

Read the scientific evidence, listen to the experts and then make your own mind up based on facts.
Don’t spout nonsense just because it doesn’t fit with your narrative.

Got me again @BlimeyOReillyO . Damn. There is just no way around people with such keen eyesights, I am telling you.

As I said before, don't believe me, nobody has to. Go, jab away for all I care. No skin off my back. I am not judging anyone who is, but flat-out refusing to accept the possibility of any potential (longterm) side-effects is just spectacular. Even something simple like a beetroot extract will have effects, and limitations..Nobody needs to believe anyone on the internet - certainly not me, go and ask the relevant questions from your GPs, and specialists.

Piknik · 19/02/2026 19:25

'We' are not pregnant, one of you is. The female one.

Dubai is a soul-less, morally bankrupt charade of a resort that I will never ever set foot in.

StarlitSea · 19/02/2026 19:26

Big age gap relationships are wrong. If the younger party is under 25, and the older one is approx five to ten years older, it’s disgusting and there is always a power imbalance.

link to the information on organ failure? Or are you a sex therapist and the only person that knows about these extreme side effects?

CoolShoeshine · 19/02/2026 19:27

We need to scrap Mrs and Miss titles. Just call all females Ms, in the same way that all men are Mr, it would be so much easier.
