Premier inn or Travelodge in London - where?

I am planning a solo trip in May. Friday to Sunday so 2 nights. I am meeting some friends on the Saturday night for dinner and theatre. Beyond that I plan on shopping mixed with some tourist spots/walking.

Premier Inn and TL seem to be reasonable but I am not sure where to base myself. I’ll likely come in from Heathrow. Possibly by train though which would be Kings Cross but I am 90% sure I’ll fly. Where would you base yourself?

Also, just out of curiosity, why is air b and b cheap in London. I did have a look as DH said he might come down but he can’t get away from work so isn’t now. I did look at air b and b and it’s cheap.

Always premier inn over travel lodge. I’ve stayed in many over the years and TL are always grotty. PI consistently better.

Borough High Street makes enough sense. Your close to the Jubilee Line which will take you straight to Abba Voyage in Stratford and Wembley.

Thank you. That was the initial thought but then I got cold feet. I’ll stick with that Booking and start thinking about food places instead! X

There’s a TL to the left opposite Kings Cross….its not fancy, showers lack pressure but it was good value.

I used it as I was travelling solo with two young DC and I didn’t fancy the tube with them and a suitcase. We just dumped our bags and headed off. It was handy for making the most of the last morning before we got the train back too.

I stayed at The Goodenough Hotel for £100 and it was really nice! Just looked and they have rooms for £150 so I guess the rates fluctuate with demand. It’s quite near Kings Cross but a quiet area. Better than Travel lodge or Premier Inn in my opinion.

Love the Earls court one. Can pop into v and a and the museums ( i walk the back streets to try and peak into gorgeous flats ( mainly have high hedges/fences though), walk up to kensington high street and great for Tube everywhere
