How long do you spend on your phones arguing with complete strangers about stuff that probably never happened?

Been here 11/12 years (can't remember exactly) under a lot of different names. It's not perfect, it used to be better back in the day but then so did a lot of things.

I'm disabled. I know that my time on this planet is finite and I also know that a lot of stuff posted is simply made up. However. I can't fill my time more productively by working, going on a cycle ride, exploring the world or campaigning for world peace, so I'm quite happy to spend time browsing here, seeing pictures of cats, reading about parking wars and MIL problems. I also have picked up some useful tips on what to buy to help with issues caused by my disability.

So feel free to delete your account, but I'm keeping mine.

I waste too much time in here definitely and yes the days I argue with people I definitely don’t feel in as good form but then I’d recommend taking a few days off or going onto some non aibu threads, I especially love style and beauty, pets and have found the money section life changing

But what about the times when you have a genuine question and need help

When you are in a abusive relationship and too afraid to speak out?

When you are struggling to cope and have no one to give you a kick in the right direction?

There were so many kind people on here during some of my darkest hours

And I paid the support forward and shared the advice I got here to help others

And here we are.

I'm not on my phone, I'm on a laptop and I quite like it on here. I spend the time reading about random hobbies, gardening tips, cat lore and recipe ideas.

I'll only argue with people if I think they need to be put straight. 😂

I think the real question here, @GetTrumpArrested, is what are you going to do with the time you previously spent arguing on MN? Are you going to spend it getting out & meeting more people IRL - maybe volunteering or joining a class?

I agree (although you are probably not here to read this) I am sure it would be so liberating but then I go and see a post that draws me in and I think ok maybe next week 😂
