Quote : "Illegal immigration is a huge factor in depressing wages. So this I don’t believe at all. It’s said that wages for unskilled work in LA is actually rising as illegals are sent home."
Should be an easy claim to provide evidence for. Like I am about to do for rent costs:
So rent in LA. Given the average rent in LA is $2,720 per month, I am a bit surprised that non-skilled "illegals" are able to afford that, never mind affect the rate.
Source for ave rent:

And it's pretty easy to get some pointers on why rents are coming down. Just ask the interweb thing.
Rents are falling in these major U.S. cities heading into 2026 (cnbc.com)
From that : "Prices for one- and two-bedroom rentals were rising at an annual pace above 12% in mid-2021 and mid-2022 amid high demand, according to Realtor.com data. Since early 2023, rent growth has turned negative as a surge of new apartment supply entered the market.
In 2024, more than 600,000 new multifamily apartment units — typically large, managed apartment buildings — were completed nationwide, the most in a single year since the 1980s, according to Apartment List.
The biggest rent cuts have shown up in these buildings, where the surge of supply has forced landlords to compete for tenants."
Wow. So under Biden, for some reason, more newbuild apartments were put up then at any time since the 80s. And market forces blah blah.
So if it is government policy effecting rents at all, then it appears to be a Biden admin policy. Let's do a quick check on that. First hit (near enough):
FACT SHEET: President Biden Announces Plan to Lower Housing Costs for Working Families | The American Presidency Project (ucsb.edu)
Lets take a quote from that , 2nd paragraph :
"We are starting to see some progress. More housing units are under construction right now than at any time in the last 50 years, rents have fallen over the last year in many places, and the homeownership rate is higher now than before the pandemic. But rent is still too high, and Americans who want to buy a home still have difficulty finding one they can afford. That is why President Biden has a landmark plan to build over 2 million homes, which will lower rents, make houses more affordable, and promote fair housing."
Ahh, so it appears to be a "Thank you President Biden" is needed here, for rental costs dropping. It was one of his policies, and it does appear to be working.
Yup. Pesky libs "doing their own research"
