Thought I’d be brave and start a pro-Trump thread for a change, after all, there are so many anti-Trump ones , we need some balance!
I even tried commenting on an anti-Trump thread today… and wow, just kept being told to go away, my comments were not well received. Honestly, I feel honoured to feel as if I have been officially deported, what an achievement!😂

I’m just laughing at the ‘highly overrated’ Bruce Springsteen, come on Donnie you are losing your touch - surely ‘he’s a loser’ !! Trump is a first rate unclassy utter knob

ChurchWindows · 30/01/2026 10:33

@RingoJuice " There are better ways of course. But you still need ICE to pick up illegal alien criminals and those served with final deportation orders. As well as continue the worksite raids that ICE have always done."

Do you think the ICE agents we are seeing look like professional, trained officers?
Do you think six people continuing to kick a man in the face when he is on the ground is professional?
Do you think if they aggressively came up to you in the street dressed as they do in a rag, tag and bobtail of various hats, hoods, guns, shoes and clothes that you would think a) I'm being lawfully detained by experienced, highly trained, uniformed officers? or b) I'm being attacked by a violent mob and am going to die right here?
Do you think a civilized country treats its own citizens in this way?
What do you think of Trump's u-turn in attitude on how these brutal murders have been committed?

Does it? Most people, including myself, don’t like Liz Truss. Is there a derangement syndrome for that? For Putin? Presumably you didn’t like Biden. Do you have BDS?

Having lived in Denmark the Dane’s are hot on this - teams constantly going round checking people’s validity to be there, especially in under the radar businesses, but it’s done in a way that doesn’t petrify everyone else, no masks, plain clothes, not much different to teams inspecting hotels etc, and placed in decent quality holding places till deportation - do right to rent checks too, landlords fined stupid money if they don’t comply - if Trump wasn’t busy lining his and his families pockets maybe he could throw money at it and get it under control in a humane way - it cannot have escaped attention it’s all being focussed mainly on in Democrat states that don’t vote for him - Texas has 10 times the issue

ICE is deporting tens of thousands in Texas alone, more than any other state. Huge ongoing operations now in Houston and Dallas.

But you don’t know that at all, do you? Protestors that interfere with ICE operations would be quickly shut down by local PD,
so no reason for your media to remark on it.

Fancy insulting the BOSS
I'd honestly be beyond embarrassed to admit I supported Trump. He's an orange man baby

LA rents may be coming down but that is a combination of factors, although, yes immigration is certainly one. However, incomes are also down as well as other costs increasing. You can't have it all and have to accept that there are consequences in both respects

Illegal immigration is a huge factor in depressing wages. So this I don’t believe at all. It’s said that wages for unskilled work in LA is actually rising as illegals are sent home.

Your next one is the one that bothers me the most. You can't have the current gun laws and then use it against your own citizens when it suits. If Alex Pretti was an actual threat then he could have been arrested and charged after the first incident. He wasn't

He absolutely should have been and it’s on Minneapolis PD for not taking them seriously.

Is it not ironic though that Trump is calling for protest in Iran yet it's not permitted in the US

Are you really going with this? Really?

You can protest all you like. But you cannot obstruct ICE operations. Huge difference

It’s said that wages for unskilled work in LA is actually rising as illegals are sent home.

You wanted a story/source from me, where's yours on that.

Recent data and economic analysis from 2025 and early 2026 suggest a complex picture in Los Angeles regarding low-skilled wages and reduced unauthorized labor. While some theories suggest that a smaller labor pool should raise wages, studies indicate that intense immigration enforcement in the Los Angeles area has caused significant labor shortages, disrupted industries, and led to a sharp increase in wage theft, rather than a clear, across-the-board rise in wages for low-skilled native workers.

Your cognitive dissonance is truly amazing. I can accept that you can agree with the premise of what Trump is trying to do but I can not rationalise how you can not see that this is a very dangerous moment for American democracy.

Trump.was right. He could literally stand in the street and shoot someone and he would not lose your vote. Do you have a redline?

Should be an easy claim to provide evidence for. Like I am about to do for rent costs:

So rent in LA. Given the average rent in LA is $2,720 per month, I am a bit surprised that non-skilled "illegals" are able to afford that, never mind affect the rate.

Source for ave rent:

Average Rental Price in Los Angeles, CA | $2,720 (zillow.com)

And it's pretty easy to get some pointers on why rents are coming down. Just ask the interweb thing.

Rents are falling in these major U.S. cities heading into 2026 (cnbc.com)

From that : "Prices for one- and two-bedroom rentals were rising at an annual pace above 12% in mid-2021 and mid-2022 amid high demand, according to Realtor.com data. Since early 2023, rent growth has turned negative as a surge of new apartment supply entered the market.
In 2024, more than 600,000 new multifamily apartment units — typically large, managed apartment buildings — were completed nationwide, the most in a single year since the 1980s, according to Apartment List.
The biggest rent cuts have shown up in these buildings, where the surge of supply has forced landlords to compete for tenants."

Wow. So under Biden, for some reason, more newbuild apartments were put up then at any time since the 80s. And market forces blah blah.

So if it is government policy effecting rents at all, then it appears to be a Biden admin policy. Let's do a quick check on that. First hit (near enough):

FACT SHEET: President Biden Announces Plan to Lower Housing Costs for Working Families | The American Presidency Project (ucsb.edu)

Lets take a quote from that , 2nd paragraph :

"We are starting to see some progress. More housing units are under construction right now than at any time in the last 50 years, rents have fallen over the last year in many places, and the homeownership rate is higher now than before the pandemic. But rent is still too high, and Americans who want to buy a home still have difficulty finding one they can afford. That is why President Biden has a landmark plan to build over 2 million homes, which will lower rents, make houses more affordable, and promote fair housing."

Ahh, so it appears to be a "Thank you President Biden" is needed here, for rental costs dropping. It was one of his policies, and it does appear to be working.

Yup. Pesky libs "doing their own research"

Rents are falling in these major U.S. cities heading into 2026—one of the more 'renter-friendly periods' in a decade, says expert

Falling rents and rising vacancies are giving renters more room to negotiate prices heading into early 2026.

The cases I’ve seen almost always have some sort of issue. Prior arrest, DUI, missed paperwork, etc.

Lawyers don’t always tell you this straight up, but if you look into a case, you’ll often see what this issue is.

So great that you have the time and resources to look into every single case and root out the truth that lawyers don't always tell you straight up. Just amazing.

Yeah I said a major factor but ofc not the only one (below from the LA Times piece);

A major factor in what specifically. Rent? Wages ?

I can't keep up sorry, given how Trumpists blame EVERYTHING on undocumented folk, it would be helpful if they were more specific on what bit they actually mean as they hand wave away any evidence against that premise.

So, you are happy to admit that the drop in rent came about because of Biden policies ?

Or do you have evidence it is from Trump policy ?

And where is your evidence that wages for unskilled have risen ? Oh wait, I bet that was a Biden policy that done that too. Post your evidence and let's check your claim.

Carpediemtoday · 29/01/2026 19:49

I am afraid it does......Warren Davidson (R-OH) introduced the Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) Research Act of 2025. This bill would direct the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to study the psychological and social roots of what is known as Trump Derangement Syndrome, a phenomenon marked by extreme negative reactions to President Donald J.

@Carpediemtoday we see what you’ve done there.

But I’ll bite…
Rather than reinstate vaccination programs and reproductive healthcare for women they’d rather fund research into a made up (but entirely relatable) syndrome.

Honestly, you couldn’t make it up.
