Favourite food and drink combinations

What's your favourite food and drink combination. Not necessarily your favourite food, or drink, or both - but the perfect pairing?

For me there is something fantastic about

• burger and beer (ale)
• ready salted crisps and v cold white wine, preferably a bit oaky or fizz.
• spicy curry and a long lime and soda with tonnes of ice

Apple. Peanut butter. Glass of cold milk

Pancakes with sliced banana and maple syrup and an iced cafe latte

Champagne and seafood. Eg Taittinger and scallops. This is not something I have very often btw.

In ordinary life, coffee and toast with Marmite.

First night on holiday after travelling, sitting at a beachfront restaurant…Hawaiin pizza and a cold lager, bliss!

Just had a plateful of fresh chocolate chip cookies and a cold glass of milk. Classic.

I love soda with BBQ chips. Fries with strawberry shake.

Bitter shandy & sweet chilli crisps
hot bovrel & hot buttered toast

Chip shop chips & dry white wine
Fresh baguette, sharp cheddar &…dry white wine.

Definitely the champagne and seafood.

Hard no to marmite and anything (sorry) 🤣

Tea and chocolate for me too.

fish and chips and coke, as the coke cuts through the fat...

Jacket potato and cup of tea
eggs and coffee
crisps and red wine
ginger biscuits and whole milk

Tapas and red wine
Coffee and a cinnamon swirl
G&T and ready salted crisps, preferably in a pub garden on a sunny afternoon after a long countryside walk

Fish and chips and tea in a mug in the sit down bit of the fish and chip shop with condensation on the windows and ‘oh, go on then’ to a side of buttered white bread. Smell of vinegar and tanniny tea. I’m on a diet, it’s a long time since I’ve done that, and I walk home past the chippy most nights. Ah.

toast and marmite and tea, it’s so comforting.

on holiday, arrival beer and something salty to keep your salts up!

Fish and chips and proper builder’s tea.
A good Darjeeling and those fancy Chips de Madrid crisps with Cretan herbs.
A v specific one from a lovely experience on holiday: tempura, just fried and tipped out in front of you by the chef, scalding hot and super crispy, with fizzy Japanese orange pop.😋

Quavers and potato salad 👌

Cheese and red wine (or port) especially strong cheddar, yum!

Builder’s tea that a mouse could trot across, and a slack handful of bourbons.

Blue cheese and celery.

Curry and lager
fish & chps and a mug of tea
jam & bread and a cup of cold milk (throw back to childhood suppers)
Brownies with Baileys

Really good seafood and a glass of bone dry white wine, preferably with a sea view

How could I overlook this one - a cup of tea and a slice of toast with jam. Preferably blackcurrant.

colcannon & garlic mushrooms

Neither of those is a drink, delicious though they are.

OP was asking for food and a drink that go together - like a mince pie and a glass of port or Rogan Josh and a lager.

Fish tacos and a really great reposado tequila.

Chocolate and milk.
Cheese,crackers and wine.
Ham sandwich and a cup of tea.
