Do you think germs scream when they get bleached?

It's gotta be brutal way for the blighters to go in their own little world when you think about it. Both toilets getting bleached before bedtime. They've had a good run as I've been incredibly slack with housework this week and no one else does it here. They'd live a charmed life actually if it weren't for me.

Yes they do. Same as tooth plaque when they get slooshed with mouthwash.

smallglassbottle · 26/01/2026 00:59

Yes they do. You can watch microscopic organisms on youtube and they attack and eat each other and their outer parts break open and their insides spill out. They chase each other and get chemically nuked as well.

There's a whole world of micro tragedies out there and it's really sad.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 26/01/2026 02:16

Yes, I've seen it in the ads.

RosyPumpkins · 26/01/2026 02:26

They must do. I hate cleaning so part of me is glad.

Crwysmam · 26/01/2026 03:05

I don’t use bleach in my loo regularly. I remember watching “Flushed Away “ with DS when he was little and just loved the singing slugs so feel guilty bleaching them regularly.
Also our dog has a habit of drinking out of the loo so avoid putting any chemical down it.

We’ve tried to stop her but trying to get the men in my house to put the seat down is a never ending battle. Expecting the lid to be closed as well is impossible.

Bummmmblebee · 26/01/2026 03:13

Yup, I think so. We waste loads of energy worrying about the ethics of large things with faces and absolutely none on small things.

PaddingtonsMarmaladeSandwich · 26/01/2026 03:50

Never thought about it, but your thread title made me giggle.

Is it the same for dust particles when they get dusted or vacuumed?

ForLoveNotMoney · 26/01/2026 04:50

I hope so 🤣
I use a weed burner in the garden and I love the sizzling sound and smell as the weeds curl up and die 💀

Yep tooth plaque too. Chuck them in the same equation.

I only read the other day that when you boil water to rid it of germs, they all get killed. So, you're drinking dead germs. I had never thought about that before.

The bully germs meet their match with bleach though 😁

Don't think those blighters will ever see a day where they are given a break.

Dunno. Don't think dust particles are alive as such.

Never seen weed burner. I think traditional weed killer sounds like a miserable drawn out slow death for the weeds.

Can't say we have to boil water here but yeah that sounds grim when you think about it.

I think they don't have a voice box, so don't scream, but might look horrified

the80sweregreat · 26/01/2026 21:04

I did read that grass cries out in pain when it’s cut :(
Every time I mow the lawn I feel bad.
Germs can be so bad for you , so I don’t feel as bad killing them off.

Edited

Well AI says germs do indeed communicate with eachother. So my thinking is when they all get covered in bleach there will be some sort of mass frenzy they all hear eachother.

Well if grass cries then it's gotta be the same for germs surely.

I imagine they wither like the wicked witch of the west in Wizard of Oz when she gets water poured on her “I’m melting, I’m melting…..”

DierdreBarlow · 26/01/2026 21:36

Apparently the smell of new cut grass is the smell they give off to warn other plants that's there's danger around.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 26/01/2026 21:42

What about that poor potato that was sprouting, and begging to be planted so it could grow into a flourishing plant and make little baby potatoes? But instead you peeled it and murdered it in boiling water!

Tonet · 26/01/2026 21:43

The grass doesn't die though does it. It just grows back. It's more akin to a haircut, or a close shave.

Oh god this thread is too much for me. I was already feeling guilty when we had to take medicine for pinworms & read something online about how the medicine works - it essentially starves the worms to death. I felt awful for them. But, ya know, I also can’t have parasites living in my body.

That's what they want you to think.
