Has anyone seen his recent statement on Instagram? I actually feel very sorry for him.

Really ? Is this newsworthy?

Quite obviously yes!

Bunnycat101 · 19/01/2026 21:31

No doubt he will regret it but it screams ‘this is my final straw and I’ll have my say now’. I’ve always felt the Netflix documentary made it seem like both David and Victoria would be hard to live with despite the heavy editing. I can well believe all of those children have had an odd childhood and that Brooklyn as the eldest probably did a fair amount of emotional support. I have also always thought that the Beckhams could have protected the children more. Many of their peers have done. Could anyone pick out Emma Bunton’s kids? The fact that so many people could name all 4 of the Beckham children isn’t really a good sign. They had all the money in the world and didn’t need to sell out.

I think it’s all sad. I remember her being pregnant with him. Nobody would want this for their family. I hope they can work it out.

Just thinking back to that time and how young and excited they were to be having a baby.

People only see the decisions that were made and not the choices people had.

We don’t know any of them really and I believe nothing if I don’t actually know the people myself. I really hope they can all work it out and have a happy peaceful life.

Well, you clicked and commented...

Gossip exists as much to make people feel superior as to give them something to talk about. It's all engagement, hey?

Brand Beckham is the family business, akin to kids who grow up working on the family farm or in their dad's shop. Fame is what the parents trade in and they probably don't view it as 'bad' or exploitative in any way. They likely see it as having given their kids opportunities that other people just don't have. And that's undeniable really - would bb have met his wife without the benefit of being D&V's child? Likely not.

Im sure his upbringing wasn't perfect because few peoples are. Parents are flawed, they mess things up but largely they love their kids and do their best for them. I'm not a fan of DB and I could well believe that marriage hasn't been the happiest for VB - but throwing his mum under the bus like that doesn't sit well with me.

Let's hope this marriage works out - his in-laws will prob be great, so long as their daughter is happy. If it all goes pear shaped he'll be up shit creek because he's well and truly burned his bridges with mum and dad.

This isn't important in the grand scheme of things but did Marc Anthony publicly call Victoria the most beautiful woman in the room at Nicolas wedding?

That's a bit of a shit thing to say. Surely that should only be said about the bride?

Yes, inappropriate. But isn’t it Marc Anthony fault not VB? Or is the fault here that she has terrible inappropriate friends?

and it was one comment three years ago, time to move on. I can vaguely remember what was a year ago, as I am sure lots of people with lives being actually busy.

Privacy on his terms. He gets to decide what he posts. Rather than the rand controlling everything.

Much like me or you decide to post on Facebook or Instagram or not. Rather than our parents deciding.

Exactly. It’s strange that so many people here don’t get it. Maybe they try to control their children too. Anyone that sees their children as individuals with autonomy would understand this.

To be fair some washed up boy band singer isn’t going to compare with a world famous footballer as a husband and father but I take your point 😆

Wow. Yes it's definitely not Victorias fault. I'd be upset with him for that remark if I was the bride.

I actually feel sorry for Victoria. She seems so tightly wound but I do feel she loves all her kids.

I think that really is the most damning part. A lot of his statement is around brand Beckham, prioritising that above everything else etc but to publicly accuse your own mum of inappropriately dancing on you is horrendous. I bet VB is broken by that.

Are you implying he lied about it? Because I don't think he would have been advised to post it if his lawyers didn't have witnesses lined up who could corroborate VB doing that.

I was waiting for him to mention David’s affair/s for the ultimate microphone drop. It was the only thing that was missing.

He seems to have slagged off his mum more than his dad though

Yeah, I think actually, this was a step too far in the statement. He’s accusing her of basically sexual inappropriateness? I mean…

Regardless of what happens, he’s better off without his mother and father. Shit
parents shouldn’t be people you keep in your life in case things goes wrong. If they’re bad, they’re bad and you’re better off without them no matter what else is happening,

HHHMMM · 19/01/2026 21:36

As for his wife being much richer - not actually true if one divides the wealth of parents by the number of children. 1.7billiion of Peltz parents divided between ten kids vs 500milliin of Beckams divided between four kids is pretty similar numbers.

Bruisername · 19/01/2026 21:37

I only know geri’s daughters name because bluebell Halliwell is a lot of L’s

I do think he was the first celeb baby to be part of the image and there are going to be a lot of influencer kids coming out with similar statements in the future

I can empathise so much. I had to cut off my extremely narcissistic mum last year and I went full nuclear (sending evidence because she denies everything and rewrites history) into our family group chat with multiple relatives in. I wrote a huge essay and blocked her

Edited because I got distracted

I feel for him because when someone controls you your entire life you feel you have to explode to finally be heard. Hopefully he's at peace now and can begin to heal.

junebugalice · 19/01/2026 21:37

I believe everything he has to say. Nobody walks away from their family of origin without just cause. Even just from what we know, he has grown up with some significant trauma. His father (most likely repeatedly) cheated on his mother in the most public of ways. Victoria has battled an eating disorder all her adult life and her kids were exposed to that. The kids have been paraded into front of a camera their whole lives and not one of them has managed to achieve any kind of “normal” job, whose fault is that? The parents priorities have always been themselves and their own interests. You don’t become as famous as they are without a certain type of personality and I would believe that Victoria and David are very hard work. It’s sad he felt he had to go public with this though but I do understand. I think it’s very telling that since going NC his anxiety has decreased, I can relate to that.
