Wow Brooklyn Beckham's statement doesn't hold back!

Has anyone seen his recent statement on Instagram? I actually feel very sorry for him.

I suspect he’d be horrified his words aren’t taken as read, he’s saying it’s his decision, and I believe him. I tend to do that with victims though.

Certain things my parents did annoyed me a bit around my wedding. I even thought about bringing it up with them afterwards but didn’t & I am glad about that now. As time has gone on I can see how insignificant the ‘issues’ were, people just tend to get tense around having the ‘perfect day’ for their wedding. I would have ended up hurting them needlessly and with water under the bridge none of the wedding day irritations really mattered in the grand scheme of life. To be honest this is where they could all really do with having normal jobs/ grind to be getting on with rather than time to stew over pointless things!

I do hate her dresses. In years to come they will all look back and wonder why they were gadding about in their petticoats!

I actually think that he has weakened his statement by putting that. I mean, OK if you have to talk about the dance, but those details specifically? I don’t know.

I think that really is the most damning part. A lot of his statement is around brand Beckham, prioritising that above everything else etc but to publicly accuse your own mum of inappropriately dancing on you is horrendous. I bet VB is broken by that.

If she is, it might be another reason why he's spoken out – to make it clear that he is entirely estranged from his family before his parents try to hijack the announcement.

Out of curiosity for all the posters saying they don’t believe him or he should change his name etc do you give that same advice to people on here in the stately homes thread? Or the ones who come on asking for advice about their families behaviour and are told to go low or no contact, grey rock etc?

Agree and even now there are people on here obsessed with rhe money and saying he is controlled by his wife or family.

poor man, even when he comes right out with it, some people can’t beleive he speaks for himself and is an actual person.

I am amazed about how many people think that is you are rich and have a crappy childhood you have no reason to complain about feeling neglected and unhappy. Apparently being rich overrides anything else!

I wonder why Brooklyn has Instagram accounts and publishes so many photos of himself and his wife if he values his privacy so much? No criticism here, just curious. It is a mess though and so awful to have it all played out so publicly.

This reminds me of something that happened last year, when we arrived at a beach front holiday home for a family birthday weekend.

We arrived at about 6pm and had a quick walk on the dunes first. There was this very dressed up young couple with three young children posing for photos on a time delay. The young mother was extremely made up and they were all wearing lovely clothes that complemented each other.

We went on to the house to meet the rest of our family, but about an hour later I realised I’d left my sunglasses on the beach. I walked back and this family were still there taking endless photos and videos. The young children looked so tired and unhappy, and I figured she must be an influencer. It was very sad actually.

I’m torn because he does seem rather spoilt and unaware how privileged he is but on the other hand he’s been forced into the spotlight since before he was born - the whole world knows he’s named after the place he was conceived!

D and V have played the media since day one - they’ve always been better at branding than singing or football. And the kids have always been the backup plan despite them all being rather ordinary and not inheriting their parents’ looks - both were very attractive before the excess Botox.

I’ve always found them incredibly fake and it’s depressing how many opportunities their money and arse kissing buy them - he’s ‘designing’ a bloody Chelsea garden this year, something many many talented people can only dream of, just because he’s reinvented himself as some kind of country gent, posing in a waxed jacket and clean wellies and claiming to be mates with the king.

Much like Prince Harry (because yes there are similarities) BB would do best to step away from social media and live a quieter life with his wife/cooking/dogs but a) I’m not sure thats really what he wants and b) I suspect his wife and her family are not going to be the sanctuary he thinks.

I don’t think so. I don’t see why you’re trying to blame his wife, my in-laws invited his ex to a bbq, my husband felt really uncomfortable , I was good with it, he told them not to do it again.
