Has anyone seen his recent statement on Instagram? I actually feel very sorry for him.

She does, and so does 'Sir' David.

I agree, and I think he’s a real cheating asshole.

But her completely glossing over it with her rictus grin is insane. This was never going to hold out. She chose the money and the fame and the brand over her own integrity, over her own happiness. Who does that.

Aluna · 19/01/2026 21:07

He’s just exchanged one social media family for another. I’d be more convinced if he got off social media completely and got a job.

He can only flounce because FIL is a billionaire.

I wish he'd clarified more about that first dance VB hijacked – "She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone."

ON him? Was it a pseudo lap dance??? 😬

My teenage son would think ANY dance I tried in public, especially in front of his mates, would be inappropriate and embarrassing. Just being in the same room as his mates is bad enough and to be avoided where possible.

I wonder if we’re going to get a counter statement saying that recollections may vary?

As my late mother would have said 'One tale's good 'til the other one's told'. Did anyone expect anything different in his diatribe?

Hardly damning. Of course they were always going to control the narrative.
Makes him sound like a petulant teenager rather than just setting the record straight

People don't become estranged without very good reason. This isn't petty. It is a man stepping away from toxic parents.
If you watch Victoria's documentary you can feel it under the surface. I couldn't finish it because she made me so uncomfortable.

xSideshowAuntSallyXx · 19/01/2026 21:08

He's just confirmed what half of us have been saying since this all kicked off. The Beckhams are just for show. His parents sold his soul for cash and he's had enough.

The trash talking of his wife has been disgusting.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 19/01/2026 21:03

I think it’s due to him recently blocking them all on socials. Cruz had something to say. Apparently the straw that broke the camels back was Victoria liking a post about a Roast Chicken

I thought the blocking thing was a few weeks ago?

What on earth have I missed about a roast chicken? 😂

But they've raked it in through collaborations with companies, not via public opinion.

And he hasn't attempted to throw them under the bus, he's made sure they've been well and truly squashed.

I'm not convinced that he has squashed anything except perhaps his inheritance but frankly not sure why anyone else outside the families actually care.
The fact that seemingly so many people with no skin in that particular game do is the real tragedy here

It'll be chaos.

i’m envisaging smelling salts, banshee screaming and publicists ducking whisky glasses.

He's 26 why does everyone keep calling him a teen...

How strange how these things are viewed so differently
Just like Harry he needs to just quietly disappear and live his privileged life as apparently that’s what’s wanted.

Both very sad young men; I feel even worse for DB & VB, as well as KC.

I was waiting for him to mention David’s affair/s for the ultimate microphone drop. It was the only thing that was missing.

He has definitely alluded to it. I think many can empathise.

BloodandGlitter · 19/01/2026 21:09

There are some posters on this thread who you can just tell will end up with poor relationships with their children, if they have any at all.

There's a hundred posts on mumsnet a month about people trying to escape their toxic families for this sort of behaviour and no one is asking them, Well if it was so bad why didn't you stop talking to them before now?

The difference is that it's a son doing it to a mother.

I'm flabbergasted the Beckham team didn't see this coming.

If they have been peddling stories about their son and his wife, who is from an insanely rich and powerful family, how did no one in their team predict this?

It's not as if this is Harper, which would be a bolt from the blue.
This is a son who is estranged from them, with access to more money and power than they have. Who also knows where all the skeletons are buried.

Maybe continuously prodding him isn't the smartest move? And even if the Beckhams are too arrogant to realise that, someone around them should have seen this coming.

They wouldn't have seen it coming because it's not in their brand playbook to address scandals publicly and they would've arrogantly assumed Brooklyn would never dare speak out because he'd been trained not to.

Spot on. He obviously still needs to feel relevant

TikTokker · 19/01/2026 21:10

I would love them to just reply with ‘Kids, ey?’ Instead I think they’ll be seen all over town loved up and clinging to the other kids.

renthead · 19/01/2026 21:03

I feel sorry for Brooklyn but even a cursory look online tells that his wife is a nightmare by most accounts. There are two sides to every story and I suspect there is a lot more to this.

He is at pains to say he’s not being controlled by his wife. But that he was controlled by his family. I wonder if he’s being controlled by all of them. I wonder why he’s got a public Instagram account at all.

But she just wanted to help stray dogs 🥹, quite why she needed VBs help when her Dad's a billionaire is beyond me. Get him to stick his hand in his pocket for you and you could house all of the stray dogs in America.

Hahahaaha this is so true

I agree. I can see a lot of women with ‘distanced’ adult children have turned up here to use Brooklyn as a proxy for their grievances.

3luckystars · 19/01/2026 21:10

I think it’s all sad. I remember her being pregnant with him. Nobody would want this for their family. I hope they can work it out.

David won’t be allowed anywhere near Chiltern Firehouse!
