Has anyone seen his recent statement on Instagram? I actually feel very sorry for him.

Well his statement has very successfully unleashed a torrent of online hatred towards his mother, I hope he’s proud of himself.

Ok you need to explain this, are you famous and your parents leaking and attacking you and your partner in the media? I’m assuming you read his statement where he tried to keep it private and his parents were going to the media.

I believe him, I don’t beleive there wasn’t faults on both sides, but this smacks of the truth. But again I’m not sure the point you’re making. I’m no contact with my dad, but I’m not famous and my father isn’t attacking me in the press. But had he done it to friends and family I’d have put them right.

Presumably he did it publicly because he was sick of seeing his wife being trashed in the papers because of the stories his parents were planting. Plus it sounds like he'd already told them he was done but they wouldn't respect his boundaries.

I feel sorry for Brooklyn but even a cursory look online tells that his wife is a nightmare by most accounts. There are two sides to every story and I suspect there is a lot more to this.

I find it believable. He could have done a Harry and monetised it with interviews and books but he has thrown this information out in a genuine way (bad English and all).
The Beckhams hand wringing and plaintive whimpering/barbed comments at his wife always felt odd.
I quite liked Victoria after the polished Netflix documentary treatment but after reading this statement it all kind of fits. The whole lot appear joyless and puppet like. I’m not sure Nic is the saviour he needs but good on him.

That’s what I think. Not that he would no longer have the name Beckham, but that he couldn’t use it as part of any business, so as not to distract from the main brand Beckham. Harpers name has been registered in multiple forms, but I bet she doesn’t own those registrations - they’ll be owned by the firm.

read it as the dj put on the song he was expecting as the first dance so he went up expecting his wife to be there and instead it was his mum because she didn’t know the song and just wanted to muck about but several drinks in just embarrassed herself instead.

Clearly a reason they wanted him to sign awat rights, I’d assume it was to control brand beckham, so he could only do what they authorised.

i am assuming he won’t comment on his family after this statement and will just focus on whatever he normally posts on Instagram

and as for VB suffering a torrent of online abuse - have you seen the comments about him and his wife after all the stories dripped to the press by his parents? Even this thread has some real nastiness towards him

hopefully the beckhams will put out a ‘sorry you feel that way, doors always open’ and let things go quiet.

He was often wheeled out as a shield, Victoria draped over him (probably drunk)

Beckham PR saying that he was desperate to come back was obviously the final straw to go public

If they have been peddling stories about their son and his wife, who is from an insanely rich and powerful family, how did no one in their team predict this?

It's not as if this is Harper, which would be a bolt from the blue.
This is a son who is estranged from them, with access to more money and power than they have. Who also knows where all the skeletons are buried.

Maybe continuously prodding him isn't the smartest move? And even if the Beckhams are too arrogant to realise that, someone around them should have seen this coming.

wowzers! That is a pretty brutal action but I feel sorry for him. Good for him. Recollections do vary in families but this will be very damaging for the beckhams. I believe him.

Of course, I see now that the ridiculous photo book was all set up by them. BB would not have had the contacts. They exposed him to ridicule for money!

Decent parents would never, never have encouraged him to make such a public exhibition of himself, let alone set it up. They would have encouraged him to train & to learn skills privately, not paraded him like a (badly) dancing bear.

I feel sorry for this young man. Life can be shit when you’re poor. But it can also be pretty shit when you’re rich, too.

If he wants a private and peaceful life, this isn’t the way to get one.

The reference to my own situation was that if he wants to be a nobody and step out of the public eye, the way to do that was not by drawing all this attention to himself, and that actual nobodies just privately tell their parents to get fucked.

That isn’t what he wants. He wants to remain a somebody, but doesn’t want the people who made him one.
