Has anyone seen his recent statement on Instagram? I actually feel very sorry for him.

Didn’t the Peltz’s sue the wedding planners, who had been drafted in at the last minute because and two other wedding planning companies had either quit or been fired. The company being sued said Nicola and her family were a nightmare, maybe that could explain why VB threw her hands in the air and refused to design the dress in the end. If I remember correctly the wedding planners only had good things to say about VB and DB. I wonder if their business survived.

Nicola was left in tears after her million dollar wedding…
I definitely think she’s a formidable opponent to Victoria.
Was the same with Meghan & K-Middy, from Meg’s POV.

justtheotheronemrswembley · 19/01/2026 20:49

Yes, well. Considering he's not happy about everything being in the public eye, he's not doing a very good job of staying out of it, is he?

I met him once. Properly up himself, he was.

Unpaidviewer · 19/01/2026 20:50

Good for him. People don't go no contact with their parents for no reason. I hope he can draw a line under it all and make a life that makes him happy.

Wow! He's finally grown a pair!

Hope he writes a Mommie (& Daddy) Dearest style exposé.

It's not like we didn't know they were narcissists full of shit.

I wonder if he’s OK. I find the statement very odd - why does he feel the need to air all this in public? I feel sorry for the Beckhams - I’m sure they must be worried about him but they probably have no way of reaching out.

Why is it odd? It would be odd if there was zero public investment and it came out of the blue. But the papers (and social media) have been speculating and hounding for months.

I think this is an interesting reveal of a certain set of assumptions - that if you give your child enough money & status, you’re allowed to treat that child badly, invade their privacy, ignore their wishes, exploit their name for your own gain, etc.

In other words, you can buy the right to treat someone like shit.

I am sure this set of assumptions is shared by many wealthy people - which makes them awful parents.

I’m not wealthy, but if I was, and if I used my money to benefit my child, I hope I would have the decency to recognise that I had not bought my child by doing do. That my child still had rights - and that these included (for example) the right to use his own name however he wanted, and to refuse to dance with me in a way, and at a time, that he found inappropriate or upsetting.

You see these comments on threads on here regardless of wealth. I said a thread a few months back where people where saying well you spent money raising them they should be there for you in your old age even though you were toxic. Alot of people do feel that because they spent money raising a child, gave them money whether its house deposit or uni thst the child owes you for life. Like how dare they go nc dont they know what I did for them.

I find your last paragraph strange. Do you mean that unless you are suffering the same or similar then you have no right to feel troubled or be upset about anything? I always wonder why people trot this kind of thing out.

Yes, I always think the same. I can be very upset at the plight of people in Sudan, but irritated by my hairdryer breaking.
We experience a whole gamut of feelings and frustrations. It's not null and void just because there are wars going on

I think his dad and Harry are? Or, at least they were, maybe they fell out.

He’s done it because of all the stories being dropped to the press by his parents this last week

the dm seem to have a daily article going after him or his wife

I often think there will be a sort of "me too" reckoning when the kids of all these influencers reach an age of autonomy.

At least two of the Gosselin children from a very early reality series Jon and Kate Plus 8 don’t speak to their Mum anymore and are on record about abuse. They were pimped for the cameras because she had twins then sextuplets.

I agree. I dislike this narrative of ‘they’ve given you money, so you can’t say a word against them without being called a brat/ungrateful’

I think some posters can’t see past the wealth to the humans.

I don’t think they do have the right to treat him poorly.

But, whilst he might have been given fame and status - which did actually allow him to meet the wife he refers to, he doesn’t have to keep it.

If he really, genuinely doesn’t want the attention - what’s with the Instagram story? The posed Christmas photos, etc?

What I find jarring, I guess, is that he seems to want the fame and fortune, but not the family.

Same. But I think they’re too above it to hit back in public. I hope so anyway.

Edited

Yeah this is true..i would like to hear their side of this but would also think they're above this pettiness aswell

DoItTwoDay · 19/01/2026 20:52

Fuuuuccck. Grenade launched.

The Beckhams must be spitting about this...it will never be forgotten and key lines from the statement will be pulled up and rehashed forever now. They'll never undo this.

I mean, he's pretty much said that his dad doesn't give a shit about him, his mum is a pervert and his parents' relationship is fake.

If any sneaky staff had any footage of that wedding dance then they could probably earn a couple of million from it...I bet every schleb reporter is absolutely clamouring for it 😂

McMcMc · 19/01/2026 19:25

This is what I took from those messages too. I don't recall seeing anything the beckhams have gone to the press about to complain / post about BB or NP? I've seen one of his brothers posts but I didn't thing either V or D have posted anything negative about him.

If he's anti family beckham / wants a private life maybe he should just change his surname and not post publicly on social media all the time either.. that would have made more of an impression / statement than what he's written..

He

WittyTaupeFox · 19/01/2026 20:52

My take on the name issue was they wanted “rights” to the name being used for example if the wife changed to Beckham and then had an endorsement deal they would take a percentage of the profit from the contract as it was using the beckham name. I could be wrong.

the Beckhams have been very savvy with their business empires.

LessonsinChemistryandLove · 19/01/2026 20:49

If there not, the should be. Can start there own support group. Harry has got to be the OG nepo baby lol.

In all seriousness, it’s sad when families fall out so publicly. But I guess everything is public in these circles. It just cements my view that forcing your kids into a media circus is mostly a bad idea really!

Aren't all the royals nepo babies?

deadpan · 19/01/2026 20:52

I've always thought David Beckham has only ever done anything as long as there's an audience. However much work he does or doesn't do for charity, he makes sure people see it.

Peanutbutteryday · 19/01/2026 20:52

TiggerAndHobbes · 19/01/2026 20:48

I think it’s because it’s somewhat dehumanises somebody - and they don’t even like dogs! But my billionaire wife loves rescue dogs! So she is nice!

Interestingly, his story directly before the statement is about dogs too. So he must be a good person, if he’s trying to help dogs!

Oo yes good spot about his prior dog story. If I read the dog allegation alone without knowing who he is or the other pages of allegations I’d think he’s self centered/spoilt. Hmm

TiggerAndHobbes · 19/01/2026 20:52

Passingthrough123 · 19/01/2026 20:48

Her family did pay for it.

Honestly, the more I think about it, the more I think what a cow VB was to suddenly pull out of making the dress with just weeks to go. Every bride knows that getting the dress sorted is something you do months in advance. I'd have been so upset if I'd been Nicola.

I think there must be a little bit more to the story than that, I wonder what it was. It must be killing Victoria not to clarify the reason. Aside from the overall pain of the whole situation, I’m sure. Even if they do somewhat deserve it, it must be horrendously painful.

AtIusvue · 19/01/2026 20:53

Hmmm not sure I believe, that with a father in law who is a billionaire and who’s known as a ball breaker…..that Mr Peltz wouldn’t have the will or resources to take on brand Beckham PR , particularly to counteract the negative press about his daughter.

Brooklyn seems to be someone who was groomed by his parents for fame and controlled by them, only to fall into another controlling situation.

The whole situation is weird.

SleeplessInWherever · 19/01/2026 20:53

BananaPeels · 19/01/2026 20:47

How would she have met him if not being the daughter of a billionaire?

Not sure, she’s not complaining about being the daughter of a billionaire.

Doomscrollingforever · 19/01/2026 20:53

It is difficult to say without hearing the other side of the story and who knows even then? Cancelling the dress seems mean but maybe there was a more general falling out over it such that VB didn’t feel her design was respected (and that would be more understandable as someone who has a design brand). Refusing to turn up to DB big birthday party and only agreeing to meet at a different time seems petulant. The brand was how they got their money so of course it was prioritised, much as a successful businessman would prioritise his business and his family might feel abandoned as they flew out to their yacht alone. BB definitely benefitted from the money.

Family life is always messy and children often feel hard done by. I am sure there are justifiable grievances but it is a shame they have led to the split.

lifeonmars100 · 19/01/2026 20:53

Been reading it on Mail online (oh the shame!) and then rushed over here and the comments have not disappointed. I don't really follow what the Beckhams are up to but it's hard to avoid them and their hunger for press, publicity and of course his relentless pursuit of a knighthood.
