Has anyone seen his recent statement on Instagram? I actually feel very sorry for him.

But why? I really didn't get that bit.

When has he ever said he wanted privacy? He wants to lead his life on his terms, not lock himself away forever. So what if he's got an IG account like millions of young people his age on which he shares videos. Why can't he do that?

While Victoria and David probably won’t say anything officially, presumably they will plant stories…

I had thought he was being a brat and she was manipulating him but I now feel sorry for them both!

Exactly. He was born a Beckham but they could have raised them away from the spotlight, they could have emphasised education. He would have still had access to people and events we wouldn’t but it would have been more under the radar.

I can't believe someone said that people were 'misogynistic' against VB. Is there any poor female behaviour that isn't handwaved on this site!? Also conveniently ignores the fact that people see right through David, as well. Shockingly enough, some women are just unpleasant people and it is not 'misogynist' to call that out. I guess rich kids meet other rich kids. They go to st tropez or skiing or whatever rich folk do. They dont go to the local spoons.

Probably not. I have an older coworker with a grown up daughter who has pestered her for money and the one time she said no, has refused to see her.
Obviously I only heard one side, but it made me feel sick-I would never abandon my parents, and I would be grateful if they ever were able to give me money to help out. Not throw a tantrum the one time they don't.
The point I'm making is that this happens more often than you'd think, and as you say, it's only when it's famous people we discuss it. in western countries. Lots of people from other cultures (including my some of my own family/friends) can't believe how we treat our parents.

I think that, but I also wonder whether it escalates it beyond what might be healthy. I’m not blaming the women here, I mean, the dynamic itself is something that’s been waiting to happen and then explodes with the woman as the catalyst.

I mean, I’m no Meghan fan, but she hugely takes the brunt of the situation while I wonder whether Harry had basically been waiting his whole life to light the touch paper and she just happened to be the catalyst. Then I also wonder whether it ups the drama of the relationship and makes it a star-crossed lovers type thing. Me and you against the world, blah blah blah.

I wish he'd clarified more about that first dance VB hijacked – "She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone."

Sounds like the sort of thing I’d have said when I went NC with my mum after years of her self absorbtion. I’ve no idea what he’s been through, or what their family dynamic is, but the Beckham’s have a very lucrative public brand and neither of them will have wanted to jeopardise that. I hope that the whole family can rethink their dynamic and repair any damage privately.
