Has anyone seen his recent statement on Instagram? I actually feel very sorry for him.

Exactly. But clouding the issue with facts doesn’t seem to help!

Choosing to do that for yourself is very different to doing it for your parents to promote their brand. Especially for a young person.

beadystar · 19/01/2026 20:42

I believe him. The wedding dance thing was cringe. I’ve seen that happen in real life and it wasn’t nice. I also felt really sorry for mocking his shit photography book got at the time. It felt exploitative making bog ordinary teenage juvenalia into a glossy art book and flogging it because of their brand.

peacefulpeach · 19/01/2026 20:42

Jbum · 19/01/2026 20:40

I don't blame him for wanting to tell his side across he has mostly stayed silent whilst seeing his wife taking the brunt of it all and honestly even I would be like enough is enough and wow well truth is always inbetween so I believe alot of it especially how they pushed the brand Beckham part.

Its very stupid of VB or anyone else to be angry they weren't on the top table its not like they alone were shoved in a dark corner I mean ffs why cant the people getting married just design their wedding how they want to, why must other people and family be able get involved and force their wants and needs. No wonder weddings tend to be full of drama.

I mean I would love to see that wedding dance though haha

I get the feeling that brooklyns version of the truth is similar in factual representations of real life, to meghans..

‘Multiple reports from May 2025 claim that during the reception, Marc Anthony invited Victoria Beckham on stage, calling her “the most beautiful woman in the room,” which allegedly left Nicola Peltz in tears. The gesture was reportedly intended as a friendly tribute to a longtime family friend, but it sparked speculation about family tensions and perceived favoritism.’

Given his age I can’t imagine Marc Anthony was top of his list for the wedding!!!

That’s a very intentional statement, everything in it was written and checked over - he could have easily said “I was called up to dance…”

Name dropping celebs that you only know because of who your parents are, and also decrying that fame, makes zero sense.

TakeTen · 19/01/2026 20:43

Well done Brooklyn. A very long time coming.

Interesting the sympathy he’s getting, isn’t this the same as what Harry did/done/does? People often have an unusual dislike for VB, perhaps that what drives the sympathy? As long as somewhere there’s a woman to blame, recollections can indeed vary…

The splitting is the same. The way it was done not so, on either side.

ednaclouda · 19/01/2026 20:43

@mumstheword1x I agree with you
I just wonder who is paying for the expensive lawyers to write letters I bet it isnt from Brookys bank account wonder how long his ‘endorsments’ last for
what if she dumps him for someone else he’s out in the cold and not welcome back home if they have kids how is he going to pay alimony to her …. just some thoughts of mine because nicoles family could say he isnt blood either …….

FrothyCothy · 19/01/2026 20:43

I wonder if he and Harry are friends?!

25flyby · 19/01/2026 20:43

All of us who now have older kids recognise our kids seeing the flaws.
I know absolutely brilliant families that get along very well and love each other dearly. Doesn’t stop the kids humorously highlighting the weirdness or petty feuds at their parents have. It’s just part of being a family.
His is just a very public version with extreme circumstances.

LeticiaMorales · 19/01/2026 20:43

Gahr · 19/01/2026 20:42

His surname is Beckham, his parents can't take that from him. People insist on comparing him with Harry, but the situations are quite different, despite the Beckhams' delusions of grandeur. His name is not a royal title.

I agree. It's very, very different.

I did wonder why all the kids weren’t out on NYE - who wants to hang out with parents at that age on the most party night of the year

seemed strange

They are kids of millionaires. Their most party nights would F1 at Monte Carlo or Voiles de Saint Tropez etc, NYE isn’t that special when you have other parties throughout the year

nicepotoftea · 19/01/2026 20:37

Could that be to prevent other people using their names?

(At least in part)

Edited

I would imagine so, at least at the beginning.

RedToothBrush · 19/01/2026 20:44

Tableforjoan · 19/01/2026 19:31

Also why should he change his name it’s his.

They even tried to take that away from him and then posters are just the same about it.

Just like when women marry and don’t change their name it’s said it’s because it’s their name. Or when a married women divorces and the new wife complains she still has her ex’s surname every one goes but it’s her name now.

Beckham is his last name to keep or not at his wish. Not to be removed from him or forced to give up because people think he should to prove a point.

He already added Peltz what should be seen as a modern combining of the couples.

A lot of footballers register their names as a trade mark with the UK Intellectual Property Office for branding reasons.

So it will be about the brand Brooklyn Beckham. It would mean he wouldn't have control over anything sold as Brooklyn Beckham's.

This includes image rights I believe.

Jbum · 19/01/2026 20:44

Peanutbutteryday · 19/01/2026 20:39

The main allegation I don’t get is the dog one. No one, VB included, is required to sponsor/help someone/chsrity - everyone is entitled to be asked and also to say no if they wish. If true may be for a reason not shared.

otherwise the wedding and dance allegation is awful alone!!!! And I believe it as there will have been witnesses so can’t really lie about it

The point I took from it was was that brand beckham when it needs you means you always show up even if kt means cancelling other professional engagementd you had, and if you don't, well we all saw the vicious articles the one time they didnt....so the one time his wife asked her to show up she said no...seems pretty awful to be honest she should of showed up like they always are expected to show up. Its all take and no give.ì

daisychain01 · 19/01/2026 20:44

Poor little rich boy.

Honestly, the utter privilege and self-pitying nonsense!

They’ll be raging it affects their Harper plans.
The other two sons, not so much…

johntorodesfatcheeks · 19/01/2026 20:36

I’m not so sure. Not that I care but if this thread is anything to go by many have doubted the Beckhams and disliked them for some time yet they've still raked it in and stayed well and truly in the public eye.
why will their eldest son attempting to throw them under the bus via social media jeopardise that?

Edited

But they've raked it in through collaborations with companies, not via public opinion.

And he hasn't attempted to throw them under the bus, he's made sure they've been well and truly squashed.

Has he closed his instagram account?

CremeCarmel · 19/01/2026 20:45

Does anyone think the Beckham’s pr team might come on here to trash Brooklyn?

JustAnotherWhinger · 19/01/2026 20:45

I am now curious about the trademarking of names.

If you trademark your child's name then surely the trademark should belong to them when they become an adult?

I've no idea how that works and have a feeling I'll end up falling down a rabbit hole at some point!

Emilyinspace · 19/01/2026 20:45

SleeplessInWherever · 19/01/2026 20:36

Ironic really that he goes to the effort of mentioning his 500 person wedding, and name dropping Marc Anthony.

He seemed to miss the point that he wouldn’t have had a 500 person wedding or have Marc Anthony announcing anything, if he wasn’t Brooklyn Beckham.

He’s only a “somebody” because he’s David Beckham’s son. Doesn’t appear to be giving up the fame that came from that tortuous upbringing does he.

Not quite. Nicola Pelz family could easily have paid for this kind of wedding

ednaclouda · 19/01/2026 20:45

maybe someone somewhere will do an AI version of the VB wedding dance
