Has anyone seen his recent statement on Instagram? I actually feel very sorry for him.

Please remember this is a real family. They’re very rich but that won’t stop the upset and pain.

While you’re not wrong, he’s posted it to his public Instagram account. He’s hardly trying to keep it private, himself.

Harvestmoons · 19/01/2026 20:34

The knighthood is in the bag so they will rest easy

Because it's his name?

But he hates the Beckham brand but chooses to use it himself? Isn’t that quite hypocritical. If I was lucky enough to be wealthy that people knew my last name, but I felt like I didn’t want to be part of it. My username would be Brooklyn on instagram, not BrooklynnBeckham. I get that’s his name, but if he wants to separate himself from the brand, there’s plenty of ways he can.

What a bunch of horrors. Good for him.

It must be hard to grow up in the spotlight with famous parents.
Hes not the first nepo baby who has found it hard to come out of the parents shadows, and he sure wont be the last.
Similar thing going on with the Ramsay/Peaty show, albeit on a smaller scale

Ok I try to rise above this shit but this is FASCINATING. I really need to see footage of this wedding dance!

Yea. I feel this way!

JustAnotherWhinger · 19/01/2026 20:33

Sandra Beckham isn't widowed. Her ex-husband is remarried and attended the wedding with his new wife.

Oops - their grandmothers who didn’t have a husband to accompany them.

Gowlett · 19/01/2026 20:34

Brooklyn could clinch a massive book deal.
Beckham PR machine is not unlike the Palace.
They shaped modern celebrity, as we know it.
The wedding mag deal, WAGs, celeb footballers.
Remember how upset Ferguson was about Posh?
Now it’s all coming home to roost, big time!

LemonLeaves · 19/01/2026 20:34

If the Beckham modus operandi of using the media to further their cause is true, then it would make sense with Brooklyn has gone public in this way.

It's fighting fire with fire, but going one step further - because it's unarguably his message, direct from his social media account in his name. It's much more powerful because it runs contrary to how the Beckhams usually communicate.

But random nannies at the top table? Surely both sets of parents at the top table plus best man, etc and rest of the close families on adjacent tables. Then friends etc.

Random nannies? Wtf?! it was their grans!!!

Iluvmydog · 19/01/2026 20:35

That has the ring of truth about it.

sure some of the details might be recollections may vary and all that - but I have a sense that the nub of it is true.

what a mess.

Passingthrough123 · 19/01/2026 20:35

Moen · 19/01/2026 20:32

I believe him.

The Beckhams won’t respond publicly, there’ll just be an influx of happy family photos posted, much like the infamous ski trip.

Except they know that's not going to wash now. Any photocalls they do now will seem desperate.

If I was advising them, I'd get them to post a joint statement saying they are distressed to hear what Brooklyn has had to say, and recollections do vary, but they will always love him and their door is always open, then leave it at that.

If they come out fighting against him, it will look so, so bad. He's played a blinder, frankly.

ThePoshUns · 19/01/2026 20:35

This ties in with Tom Bowers study of the Beckhams that the brand is everything and they need their children to prop it up.
They have invaded their children’s privacy forever and now it’s biting them on the arse. Go Brooklyn!

SleeplessInWherever · 19/01/2026 20:36

Ironic really that he goes to the effort of mentioning his 500 person wedding, and name dropping Marc Anthony.

He seemed to miss the point that he wouldn’t have had a 500 person wedding or have Marc Anthony announcing anything, if he wasn’t Brooklyn Beckham.

He’s only a “somebody” because he’s David Beckham’s son. Doesn’t appear to be giving up the fame that came from that tortuous upbringing does he.

I would give anything to be a fly on the wall at the Beckhams' house tonight. They must be reeling. No amount of videos dancing to Kenny and Dolly will repair the damage to their brand after this.

I’m not so sure. Not that I care but if this thread is anything to go by many have doubted the Beckhams and disliked them for some time yet they've still raked it in and stayed well and truly in the public eye.
why will their eldest son attempting to throw them under the bus via social media jeopardise that?

You can see it happening in the future with the z list influencers who were never well known names before they started ‘influencing’ and the way they pimp their dc out

Imdunfer · 19/01/2026 20:36

Good for him! I wish him well.

Surely that isn’t possible? I just can’t trademark George clooney or Brad Pitt- they will have the right to get their name back? A parent can’t own the trademark to their child’s name past the age of 18 can they?- seems crazy

Check the trademark register - it's on there. All of the Beckham children appear to have their names trademarked.

MrsMariaReynolds · 19/01/2026 20:37

I can't wait for the tell-all book! 👀

LadyBlakeneysHanky · 19/01/2026 20:37

Oh my god, imagine taking out intellectual property rights on your own son’s name, and then pressuring him to allow you - instead of him - to profit from his name. What kind of deranged parent would do such a thing? Is that really what happened?

I told my son off tonight for using his phone at school earlier today & felt bad about it - now I see there’s a whole dark realm of seriously bad parenthood far far beyond the reach of us mere mortals.

Could that be to prevent other people using their names?

(At least in part)

Yet CHOOSES to have a public Instagram account with 16.5million followers with Beckham quite clear in his username. If you don’t like the public eye, you don’t HAVE to push your self into it harder.

He LOVES the rewards of being a ‘Beckham’ brings, but doesn’t like being told ‘No’ - families fight all the time. They just happens to be wealthy and famous, so it makes it seem BIGGER..

I am not saying VB or DB are right, but he certainly wouldn’t be the privileged man he is without his mummy and daddy and playing along with the Beckham Brand for so long.

He also CHOSE to be in his dad’s ‘Beckham’ 2023 documentary.

But the flip side is he knows no better. He went toman expensive school but was constantly pulled out of it to attend this event or pop to a football match. He got a job (was it in a cafe?) that his parents publicised the he'll out of. That lasted ot very long, as he was pulled hither and thither again. Same with jobs. He has 2 hard working parents but was never allowed to work properly hard hard anything for himself. He's not built that muscle. How could he get a normal job?

LessonsinChemistryandLove · 19/01/2026 20:38

Interesting the sympathy he’s getting, isn’t this the same as what Harry did/done/does? People often have an unusual dislike for VB, perhaps that what drives the sympathy? As long as somewhere there’s a woman to blame, recollections can indeed vary…

IAmKerplunk · 19/01/2026 20:38

Surely they wouldn’t use the phrase ‘recollections may vary’?! 😂

Wonder how many more people will do this when they become adults after being part of a brand during their childhood. All these influencer family types parading their kids about as an accessory when the kid can’t give informed consent.
Good luck to him I say. The stuff about his wedding alone is enough to go NC.

I often think there will be a sort of "me too" reckoning when the kids of all these influencers reach an age of autonomy.
