⚡️Russia threatens POW families (kyivindependent.com/russia-using-pows-families-to-register-starlink-terminals-ukraine-says/) to register Starlink terminals, Ukraine says.
Russia is coercing the families of Ukrainian prisoners of war to register Starlink terminals for use by Russian troops on the battlefield, Ukraine's Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War said on Feb. 10.
The claim comes a week after Ukraine's defense ministry agreed with Starlink parent company SpaceX to introduce mandatory registration for the internet terminals inside Ukraine, a move meant to prevent their use by Russian forces.

Ukraine's ballooning debt, explained

  • (kyivindependent.com/ukraines-ballooning-debt-explained/)* Ukraine's debt is ballooning. By the end of last year, the country owed over $213 billion to creditors — a hair's breadth away from the size of the country's entire economy. That doesn't include a new 90-billion-euro loan to Kyiv agreed by European leaders at a summit on Dec. 19, of which a sizable chunk will add to Ukraine's debt pile. As Russia's full-scale invasion approaches its fifth year and progress towards a peace deal remains uncertain, the anticipated postwar reconstruction boom is on hold. Instead, the status quo persists — Ukraine continues to rely on foreign cash, taking on more debt to keep fighting for its independence.

🇬🇷 🇲🇹 Greece and Malta are blocking new EU oil sanctions against Russia, — Bloomberg.
They voiced concerns that the proposed measures could harm Europe’s shipping industry and push up energy prices, sources said.
Both countries also requested clarification on plans to sanction foreign ports that process Russian oil and to tighten oversight of ship sales to reduce the number of vessels entering Moscow’s fleet, the sources added.

❗️Russia continues to ramp up shell production, which may indicate preparations for war beyond Ukraine — Estonian intelligence
In 2025, Russia produced about 7 million rounds of ammunition, mines and missiles — nearly double the 4.5 million produced in 2024.
Overall, since February 24, 2022, Russian shell production has increased 17-fold.

Latvian public broadcaster journalists came under attack by a Russian drone in the Donetsk region.
LSM News journalist Odita Krenberga and cameraman Aigar Kovalevskis were traveling to film a story about Latvian volunteer Oleksandr, who serves in an airborne brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russia is increasing artillery production with the help of equipment from Europe and Taiwan, according to Frontelligence Insight.
Despite the growing role of drones, Moscow is expanding output of artillery ammunition, gunpowder and cannon barrels. Documents show plans to install at least 22 large machine tools, indicating continued efforts to bypass sanctions and boost production capacity.
In 2024, the Russian army received more than 1.42 million mortar shells. In 2025, this rose to nearly 1.96 million — a 37% increase. Production of 152 mm artillery shells also grew to over 1.7 million units.
At the same time, Russia remains dependent on imported high-precision industrial equipment. Almost all critical production stages still rely on machines from Europe and East Asia, and the movement of such large-scale equipment is easier to track than smaller tools.

🇺🇦🇲🇩Ukraine to open new checkpoint on border with Moldova
Ukraine and Moldova have agreed to open a new international automobile checkpoint on their shared border. It will operate 24/7 and serve both passenger and cargo traffic.

Telegram has begun to be partially blocked in Russia, causing disruptions and complaints from pro-war bloggers, who say it is already affecting communications on the front lines after Starlink restrictions.
According to RBK, serious service problems started two days ago: users could not load videos, images or voice messages. On February 10, sources confirmed that Roskomnadzor initiated “partial restrictions.” Providers in St. Petersburg said the process is centralized through mandatory software systems.
Russian officials accuse Telegram of facilitating scams and terrorism. State Duma deputy Andrei Svintsov claimed the platform does not fully comply with Russian law and must establish a physical presence and pay taxes to continue operating. RIA Novosti reported Telegram could face fines of up to 64 million rubles for refusing to remove banned content.
At the same time, outages have also been reported in the Russian state-backed messenger MAX. Military bloggers say that with Starlink unavailable and Telegram slowing, communications have worsened significantly.
Telegram founder Pavel Durov warned that Russia may be repeating Iran’s attempt to push citizens onto a state-controlled messaging platform. Experts believe MAX could serve as a surveillance and censorship tool.
Meanwhile, the State Duma approved in first reading a bill to create a unified registry of mobile devices using IMEI numbers, linking phones to SIM cards. Officials say it will fight fraud and drone threats, while critics argue it could reduce anonymity and expand state monitoring.

🇭🇺 Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán said that Brussels and Ukraine have “declared war” on Budapest after Politico published an article about the idea of “advance EU membership” for Ukraine and possible ways to overcome a Hungarian veto.
“In April, Hungarians must stop them — at the polling stations. Fidesz is the only force standing between Hungary and a Brussels government, and the only guarantee of Hungary’s sovereignty,” he added.

The UK will provide an additional £500 million in urgent air defense aid, Defense Secretary John Healey announced, as reported by European Pravda.
London will also send 1,000 more Martlet multi-role missiles to reinforce Ukraine’s air defenses.

“This new plan is an open declaration of war against Hungary,” said Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán, accusing Brussels and Kyiv of targeting his country.
His remarks followed a Politico report on a five-point plan that Budapest sees as fast-tracking Ukraine’s EU bid and pressuring Hungary.
Orbán claims the aim is to oust his government and install the opposition Tisza party, ending Hungary’s vetoes.
Tisza leader Péter Magyar, in turn, alleged Orbán’s team may be planning an information attack against him, including releasing a private video ahead of the elections.

Air defense forces shot down two Kinzhal hypersonic missiles that were heading toward Lviv, Mayor Andriy Sadovyi said.

One woman was killed and four others were injured after a Russian drone struck a medical vehicle in the Kharkiv region.

Europe sharply increased its share of assistance, but the slump from the US was so large that in the end, total aid remained at the level of previous years.

Surely what that is saying is that the US walking away from Ukraine was made up for by Europe stepping up? If the end result was the same, it looks awfully much as if it's saying 67% of Europe's aid was equal to 99% of America's. and that can't be right?

DdraigGoch · 12/02/2026 17:57

I'm struggling to see why it couldn't add up. Though I don't know what raw figures the percentages were based on.

Though I am shivering in a Bulgarian railway station and not up for some light algebra.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 12/02/2026 18:38

I am never up for some light algebra, but if 67% of Europe's 2024 contribution to Ukraine's war effort was equivalent to 99% of the USA's 2024 contribution, with the end result being "total aid remained at the level of previous years" it doesn't chime with "it can't be done without all the aid from the USA". I need someone to explain this to me! Help!

⚡️ The Ukrainian military struck a Russian arsenal with "Flamingo" missiles, the General Staff reported.

This refers to an arsenal in the Volgograd region — one of the largest in the Russian Federation. Missiles, ammunition, and explosives were stored there.

Furthermore, in the Tambov region, Ukrainian defenders attacked an enterprise manufacturing equipment for missile and aviation systems. A fire broke out there.

In the occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian ammunition depots were hit. The General Staff also reported that as a result of yesterday's attack on the "Volgograd" oil refinery,

⚡️The SBU attacked the Ukhta oil refinery in the Russian Republic of Komi, the General Staff stated.

A fire broke out at a technological section and a unit required for producing fuel oil, as well as gasoline and gas oil. The distance to the target from the Ukrainian border is 1,750 km — this is a record.

The Ukhta refinery is part of PJSC Lukoil's structure and annually processes nearly 4.2 million tons of oil, supplying the Russian army.

🇬🇧The UK will transfer 1,000 multirole missiles for air defense systems to Ukraine, the country's Ministry of Defense announced.

These are Lightweight Multirole Missiles manufactured in Belfast. Such a missile weighs 13 kg, can destroy targets at a distance of over 6 km, and is 1.5 times faster than the speed of sound.

Additionally, UK Defense Secretary John Healey stated that London will provide Kyiv with $681.4 million to strengthen air defense.

🇨🇳Tens of thousands of foreign cars are being exported from China to Russia, bypassing sanctions, Reuters reports.

New cars are first exported to China and then supplied to Russia through Chinese intermediaries. Often, the vehicles are reclassified as "used."

This involves car brands such as Toyota, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and others. Since the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, over 700,000 foreign brand cars have been sold to Russia in this manner.

Since 2023, the number of these vehicles has doubled. Almost half of the approximately 130,000 such foreign cars consist of brands from countries that have imposed sanctions against Russia.

⚡️ Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán shared his "recipe" for Europe's victory with journalists: stop sending funds to Ukraine.
"First, stop the war. War is bad for business. Seek peace. Second, do not send your money to someone else if you need it for your own competitiveness. So, do not send money to Ukraine," he stated.
As the third point of his "recipe for victory," Viktor Orbán named the maximum possible reduction in energy prices.

⚡️ Russia has once again attacked Ukraine with missiles and drones. Here is what is known about the consequences:

🔴 Donetsk region. Russians dropped two FABs on Kramatorsk, an 18 year old boy and a 39 year old woman were injured in the attacks. 11 high rise buildings and 28 cars were damaged.

🔴 Zaporizhzhia. A 76 year old woman was injured by a Russian FPV drone attack on the Polohy district. Medics provided her with all necessary assistance.

🔴 Kherson. A 58 year old man and a 47 year old woman were injured due to shelling. Additionally, the Russian army dropped explosives from a drone on an 18 year old boy, who sustained a blast injury and a concussion.

⚡️ The International Olympic Committee has allowed Vladyslav Heraskevych to remain at the Olympics, but without the right to participate in the competitions.

IOC President Kirsty Coventry appealed to the head of the disciplinary commission with a request to overturn the decision to revoke the Ukrainian skeleton racer's accreditation, and he agreed.

Coventry stated that she had met with Heraskevych and held a "respectful conversation." She spoke about this to journalists with tears in her eyes.

▪️Earlier today, Vladyslav Heraskevych was disqualified from the Olympic Games for his "helmet of remembrance," which featured athletes killed during Russia's war against Ukraine.

⚡️ "For Trump, there is no greater victory than stopping the war between Russia and Ukraine." Main statements by Zelenskyy in an interview for The Atlantic:

▪️A peace deal before the US midterm elections would primarily be a political victory for Trump.

▪️In Zelenskyy's circle, there are fears that the window for a deal is narrowing, yet the president himself insists that "it is better to conclude no deal at all than to force one's people to accept a bad one."

▪️Trump, according to Zelenskyy, has a different approach, and "if negotiations become politically disadvantageous for him, he may withdraw from the process."

▪️Zelenskyy denied that it was the NABU investigation that caused Yermak's dismissal and said that he "had his own reasons."

▪️Commenting on the "unviable" US proposals (specifically the idea of a "free economic zone" in the Donetsk region), Zelenskyy remarked: "Sometimes I get the impression that it is like this: what else can be offered to the Ukrainians to see if they will refuse?". Nevertheless, Kyiv agrees to consider such initiatives to demonstrate that Russia alone is the obstacle to peace.

⚡️ Ukraine will receive 35 interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense systems in the near future: thirty from the member states of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group and an additional five from Germany, German Defense Minister Pistorius announced.

⚡️ Russia attacked Ukraine with 154 drones and a missile; air defense shot down 111 unmanned aerial vehicles. Here is what is known about the consequences:

🔴 Odesa and the region. One woman is known to have been killed and six others injured as a result of the Russian attack. The Russian army damaged energy, port, residential, and industrial infrastructure.

🔴 Zaporizhzhia region. Russians attacked Orikhiv in the Polohy district; a 57-year-old woman was killed.

⚡️ Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov detailed the specific pledges made by countries within the €32 billion aid package:

Over €5 billion has been finalized in the form of packages, including more than €2.11 billion for Ukrainian drones, over €421 million for the PURL initiative, and nearly €1.7 billion for air defense.

🇬🇧 Great Britain is allocating €574 million for air defense, contributing €172 million to PURL, and overall plans to provide nearly €4 billion in military aid to Ukraine in 2026.

🇩🇪 Germany is providing at least €1 billion for the procurement of drones and is financing air defense projects and drone units within its €11.5 billion aid budget for Ukraine.

🇳🇴🇸🇮 Norway has allocated nearly €6 billion for 2026, including €1.18 billion for drones, almost €600 million for air defense, €168 million for artillery, and €105 million for PURL. Slovenia announced an aid package of €4.22 million.

🇳🇱🇧🇪 The Netherlands pledged to direct at least 0.25% of its GDP to Ukraine's defense and €90 million to PURL. Belgium will allocate €1 billion in military aid this year.

🇸🇪🇩🇰 Sweden announced a package of €1.2 billion and €100 million for PURL, totaling €3.7 billion in aid this year. Denmark is increasing military aid by €358 million — to approximately €1.70 billion in 2026.

🇪🇸🇨🇦🇮🇸 Spain is providing €1 billion in 2026. Canada is allocating €42 million to the "Danish model" and €37 million for medical assistance. Iceland is giving €6.74 million to PURL and €2 million for weapons procurement through another fund.

🇱🇹🇱🇻🇪🇪 Lithuania is allocating €223 million this year. Latvia will direct at least 0.25% of its GDP to support Ukraine. Estonia also plans to provide no less than 0.25% of its GDP to strengthen Ukrainian defense.

🇦🇺🇵🇹🇹🇷 Australia announced a new contribution to PURL. Portugal reported contributions to PURL and the "Czech initiative," as well as the transfer of armored vehicles and drones. Turkey will make a contribution to Ukrainian air defense.

⚡️ Ukrainian lugers supported Vladyslav Heraskevych, who was disqualified from the Olympics.

After performing in the mixed relay, the athletes knelt on one knee and raised their helmets high.

The lugers also addressed the camera with the words: "Vlad, we are with you. Ukraine, we are with you," but their microphones were turned off, Suspilne Sport reported.

▪️ Yesterday, the Ukrainian luge team finished sixth and set a national record in this discipline.

❗️For the first time since the end of the Cold War, European countries are discussing the creation of their own nuclear deterrent forces, Bloomberg reports, citing sources.

The talks intensified due to fears that the US is no longer a reliable military partner. The negotiations involve states that host US military facilities and are located near Russian borders. Discussions are taking place at a deep military level — even some government officials may be unaware of them.

The issue of nuclear deterrence will be one of the key topics at the Munich Security Conference. French President Emmanuel Macron is expected to deliver a separate speech on this subject.

Experts note that replacing the American "nuclear umbrella" with Europe's own system could be too expensive. Last year alone, the European Union along with Great Britain spent over $530 billion on defense.

🇭🇺Hungary's opposition party "Tisza" maintains its lead over Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's "Fidesz" party, Reuters reports.

Data from an Idea Institute poll conducted from January 31 to February 6 indicates that 48% of respondents support "Tisza," while 38% of voters chose "Fidesz."

At the same time, the number of undecided voters has decreased by 3% and stands at 24%. Most other polls show that "Fidesz" is trailing "Tisza."

However, pro-government sociologists present a different picture. A February poll by the Nézőpont Institute showed 46% support for "Fidesz" and 40% for "Tisza."

▪️Two months before the parliamentary elections, Hungary is in the midst of a tense political struggle. Currently, the government is led by Orbán, who is known for his pro-Russian views and for blocking Ukraine's membership in the EU

⚡️Ukraine, Russia, and the USA will continue peace negotiations on February 17–18 in Geneva.

This information was confirmed to journalists by Dmytro Lytvyn, the Communications Advisor to the President of Ukraine.

United 24 Media:

⚡️ The IOC did not ban a Ukrainian athlete — it banned its own reputation. Future generations will remember this as a moment of shame, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said about the disqualification of Ukrainian skeleton athlete Vladyslav Heraskevych.

“He only wanted to honor athletes killed in the war. There is nothing against the rules or ethics in this.
The IOC intimidated, disrespected and even lectured our athlete and other Ukrainians on how to remain silent about ‘one of 130 conflicts in the world.’

The IOC has also systematically failed to confront the biggest violator of international sport and the Olympic Charter — Russia. A country that launched three invasions during the Olympic Truce over the past three decades, implemented the largest state-sponsored doping program, killed 650 Ukrainian athletes and coaches and destroyed 800 sports facilities in Ukraine.

It is the Russians who should be excluded — not those honoring their victims. None of them are ‘neutral.’

If the Olympic credo says that ‘the most important thing in the Olympic Games is not victory but participation,’ then the IOC completely betrayed it by not allowing Vladyslav Heraskevych to participate — and betrayed the 650 Ukrainian athletes and coaches killed by Russia.

We are proud to have Vladyslav, who did not betray them. Thank you for your principles and courage,” Sybiha said.

❗️President Zelenskyy reacted to the IOC’s decision to disqualify Heraskevych for his intention to compete in a “remembrance helmet” at the Olympics.

“I thank our athlete for his clear position. His helmet with portraits of deceased Ukrainian athletes is about honor and memory. It is a reminder to the whole world of what Russian aggression is and what the price of the fight for independence is. And there is no violation of any rule in this.

We are proud of Vladyslav and his act. Having courage is more than having medals,” the president noted.

⚡️ “In December, we eliminated 35,000 Russians, in January — 30,000. Our strategy is working,” Defense Minister Fedorov said in Brussels.

⚡️ President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded Vladyslav Heraskevych the Order of Freedom for “selfless service to the Ukrainian people, civic courage, and patriotism in upholding the ideals of freedom and democratic values.”

⚡️ The Ukrainian Ministry of Youth and Sports plans to challenge Heraskevych’s disqualification.

“According to the IOC, the IBSF jury made the decision due to the helmet’s alleged non-compliance with the rules. This decision appears to be a mistake that they failed to correct. We will correct this error within the legal framework. This story will definitely continue,” stated Minister Matvii Bidnyi.

🇳🇱🇺🇦 The Netherlands will transfer F-16 fighter simulators to Ukraine for pilot training, the Dutch Defense Minister said.

Brekelmans noted that simulators make it possible to practice flight scenarios and skills without unnecessary training flights on real aircraft, which is especially important given the intensive use of F-16s.

He added that in recent weeks the Netherlands has already allocated hundreds of millions for drones and ammunition to help Ukraine “survive this winter” and strengthen its position until spring.

💥 Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck a refinery in the Russian city of Ukhta, 1,750 kilometers from Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

The attack caused a fire in the AVT technological section and the visbreaking unit.

The facility is part of PJSC Lukoil and processes about 4.2 million tons of oil annually. Its main products include automotive and straight-run gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, and vacuum gas oil.

The strike set a new distance record for Ukrainian drones, which reached the target over 1,750 kilometers away.

🇱🇻🇱🇹 Two countries demand explanations over Heraskevych’s disqualification from the 2026 Olympics

“We consider it important to receive explanations regarding the validity and proportionality of the decision.”

The National Olympic Committees of Latvia and Lithuania have appealed to the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF).

They noted that the design of Heraskevych’s helmet contained no political slogans or appeals and was dedicated to the memory of Ukrainian athletes killed in the war.

The NOCs asked the IBSF to clarify the regulatory basis of the decision, assess the helmet design in line with IOC principles, and provide recommendations on distinguishing commemorative actions from political statements in the future.

👏 Partners announced nearly $38 billion in defense assistance to Ukraine — Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov after Ramstein

A significant portion of the funds will be directed toward air defense systems, UAVs, the development of drone assault units, Deep Strike capabilities, and interceptor drones.

The Minister of Defense noted that the Defense Contact Group has already provided Ukraine with $35 billion in military aid. During the latest meeting, partner countries announced new support packages, bringing the total amount to nearly $38 billion.

⚡️ Despite Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine, Kirsty Coventry, the IOC president, opposes bans on countries over wars and is open to discussions about allowing Russian athletes back into the Olympics. She claims that the sport is “neutral”.

Meanwhile Ukrainian skeleton athlete Vladyslav Heraskevych was disqualified before his first Olympic run because of a helmet featuring portraits of fallen athletes.

⚡️ I would rather not agree to any deal than force my people to accept a bad one. Even after four years of intense war, I am ready to continue fighting if necessary to achieve a dignified and lasting peace. Ukraine will not lose, — President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with journalist Simon Schuster for The Atlantic.

Key statements from the Ukrainian president:

▫️ We are working to end the war quickly. But that does not mean rushing into a deal at any cost.

▫️ The Russians can use this moment to end the war while President Trump is truly interested in it, when it is important and valuable to him.

▫️ Combining elections with a referendum could increase turnout and make it harder for Russia to question the results.

▫️ However, the deal must be the right one. A bad deal should not be put to a referendum.

▫️ The idea of holding elections during the war comes from Russia because they want to remove me.

▫️ The first step toward peace must be guarantees from the United States and Europe that they will defend Ukraine from any future Russian attack once a ceasefire is established. Otherwise, a ceasefire would seem meaningless to many Ukrainians.

▫️ Key issues remain unresolved. For example, whether the US would be ready to shoot down missiles flying toward Ukraine if Russia violates a peace agreement and resumes attacks. This must be clearly spelled out.

▫️ We were not enthusiastic about the idea of turning part of Donetsk region into a “free economic zone” without Ukrainian or Russian troops. We agreed to discuss it to show that Russia, not Ukraine, remains the obstacle to peace.

▫️ We are not afraid. Are we ready for elections? Yes. Ready for a referendum? Yes.

▫️ No one is clinging to power. I am ready for elections. But they require security, guarantees and a ceasefire.

▫️ Ukraine has never opposed ending the war. Russia has shown it is not ready for dialogue. Today there are new people with a different perspective.

🇺🇸🇺🇦 Melania Trump helped return Ukrainian children abducted by Russia for the third time — White House

Today marks the third family reunion since I began strategic cooperation with both countries. I have no doubt there will be further progress. While all parties continue to cooperate and communication remains strong, I call on Russia and Ukraine to intensify efforts to ensure every child is safely returned to their families and caregivers, the US First Lady emphasized.

🇺🇦 Heraskevych has filed a lawsuit over his disqualification from the 2026 Olympics. The case will be heard on the morning of February 13.

At 10:00 Kyiv time on February 13, he will participate in a hearing at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Milan.

“I know that we have not broken any rules. I believe that we are on the right side, and everyone knows it — and that is the most important thing. I have not violated anything, so I have appealed to the Court of Arbitration and other instances. The hearing will take place on the morning of February 13. I will participate in person, on site, not online,” the athlete said.

If the disqualification is lifted, he will need to travel about five hours back to Cortina d’Ampezzo, where the third and fourth runs are scheduled for the evening (20:30 and 22:05).

After two runs, Briton Matt Weston leads, while Germans Axel Jungk and Christopher Grotheer are in second and third place.

⚡️ London will urgently provide Ukraine with 1,000 additional British-made missiles and air defense systems worth more than £500 million (€574 million), the UK Ministry of Defence reported.

The package is aimed at protecting energy infrastructure and residential areas from Russian attacks.

Of the total amount, £150 million (€172 million) will be allocated through the PURL program (Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List).

On February 12, London co-chaired the 33rd meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group at NATO headquarters in Brussels.

The deliveries will include multi-purpose lightweight LMM missiles manufactured in Belfast, with £390 million (€447 million allocated for this component.

In the coming months, the UK will also supply Kyiv with an additional 1,200 air defense missiles and 200,000 artillery rounds as part of the Air Defence Consortium.

“On the eve of the anniversary of Putin’s full-scale invasion, the UK and our allies are more determined than ever to support Ukraine,” UK Defence Secretary John Healey said.

⚡️ Zelenskyy’s statement that he will not go to Moscow is nothing new, and Putin’s position on the meeting location remains unchanged, Kremlin spokesman Peskov said.

Other statements:

▫️ The Kremlin understands that a new round of negotiations with the US and Ukraine is expected soon;

▫️ Macron and Merz could simply call Putin; he has never declined direct contact;

▫️ Two camps have formed in Europe: some say they need to talk to the Russians, while others follow a “short-sighted approach.”

⚡️Three brothers from one family were killed in Russian strike on Kramatorsk — an 8-year-old and two 19-year-olds. Their mother and grandmother were injured.

Can Ukraine survive without the US — and can Europe fill the gap?

Since Donald Trump's return to office, Kyiv and its European allies have shared one overriding fear: a full U.S. withdrawal from the war effort.

A full halt in U.S. support would not mean an immediate defeat for Ukraine, says Mark Cancian, a retired U.S. Marine colonel and a senior adviser at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) think tank.
