All this talk of Brooklyn Beckham has made me nostalgic for the Spice Girls.

Their first hit Wannabe was 1996 😱 I bought their first album via Britannia, delivered to my door 😅

Scary Spice Mel B was my favourite, she was gorgeous back then.

What a life they've led though. Mel C has spoken openly about an eating disorder, Mel B was in a violent marriage. Geri is married to a rich man who's known for being a sleaze and Victoria, well 😓 Only Emma seems to have survived well.

But Mel b showed her strength by getting out of it and spoke up so she could help other people, works closely with DV charities etc so that shows she's a strong woman by doing all that. A friend of mine was going through it and when Mel spoke about hers my friend noticed it was time for her to speak up and escaped him so Mel has definitely saved lives

I know Mel B did that and she suffered at the hands of her ex husband.

Victoria looked so beautiful back then, she's a hollow woman now.

I think they've all gone on to live varied and interesting lives. And they all look great now.

In 1996 I lived in a house with six of us. We had a reunion of our meeting last year. Between us we have a 18 children, 2 of us realised we were gay, we have had 6 marriages and 3 divorces, 4 miscarriages and the loss of a child. 2 of us havr been in violent relationships. We live in 3 different countries and have had 3 very serious illnesses. One of us had been sectioned 3 times. If followed by the press we would have been caught out doing lots of publically embarrassing thibgs. Two of us ave been arrested. If we were famous the press would have had a field day.
If you met us you would never guess.

Crazy isn't it, what's happened to us since 1996 .

They've lived lives many of us wouldnt get access to and survived and overcome bog standard day to day issues but having to do that in the spotlight

Lots of workaday people have health issues, MH issues, marriage breakdowns, unfaithfulness etc

They're all survivors

I think the narrative around that Brooklyn is coloured by the fact that people just dont like the Beckhams and so make out they're some sort of monsters as parents. Lots of vitriol to Victoria, when you dont see her stumbling out of nightclubs or in and out of various relationships, kids with tons of different men, slagging other people off.

It's sad VBs life has ended up like this, Geri's life is a circus too. But they've sold themselves, wealth is more important than happiness and a loyal partner.

Do you know these people personally? Are you privy to the ins and outs of their relationships?

Geri is worth more money than Christian Horner, and not all relationships are monogamous. There is no indication that anyone isn’t happy.

You’ve called a woman ‘hollow’, dismissed a survivor of DA, stated that it’s ‘sad’ how women’s lives (whose lives aren’t remotely sad) have ‘ended up’, claimed that they’ve ’sold themselves’ and stated that only one of them ‘survived well’. Despite them all apparently thriving. Odd like that.

It’s like you have a very small, quite narrow view of what life is meant to look like and everything else is sad. Or, alternatively, you’ve just had a lot of wine.
