Do you have any snow where you are?
We live in the SE, near London, so rarely get any, even if it's in the forecast.
Just looked out of ensuite window and the cars and pavements have a lovely white blanket!
I'll be cursing it in 3 hours time when have to drive the school run 😅
Luckily I'm working from home this week so won't have to venture far.

Take care out there if you're experiencing significant snowfall and icy conditions.
It is pretty but also treacherous.

Snow pics welcome!

It's horrible out there but nice looking! I have to be at work for 7.30am so dreading the 35 min drive.

I've just bought a horse so when my day ends at 3.30pm I'll be going there afterwards! Mind you it will probably clear by then. In the Midlands and currently minus 4. Brrr wrap up warm folks!

Lovely photo @HangryBrickShark
Very similar here but the roads are clear.
It's -1°C but feels like -4 it says on the weather app.
Have a safe journey into work and enjoy your time with your horse, at least the days are getting lighter now!

We're in Cambridgeshire and look similar to @HangryBrickShark . I can't take a photo as I'm in bed with a cat on me.

Currently debating whether or not I can bear to cycle to the 07:30 swim. No commuting and DS is back at school tomorrow.

It's -5 here, real feel -9 but no snow. Maybe too cold for it? Everything is frozen solid though!

EleanorReally · 05/01/2026 06:00

we had snow on friday morning - south east
worried about the roads tomorrow due to the ice and snow forecast for later in the day.

CoubousAndTourmaIet · 05/01/2026 06:02

It's -7 here in the west Pennines, phone says feels like -10. Only a sprinkling of snow so far. We were hoping for more. We're winter people.

MrsMurphyIWish · 05/01/2026 06:17

In West Mids and we have had snow every day since Friday. Am hoping I can get “the call” from my Head. DD and DS have an inset so don’t need to worry about their travel.

OldFred · 05/01/2026 06:40

@Plump82 that’s weird isn’t it?
We had little snow pellets on the car windscreen the other day when it was bitterly cold.

Northants has similar to photo upthread, I think a small snowy belt of weather passed through from the midlands to the south overnight

We also had a small dusting the other day

daisychain01 · 05/01/2026 06:51

South West here

We had only a slight dusting of snow overnight, with the temps forecast to be around +2 to 3C so the snow may stay on the ground but by Wednesday the wind direction moves from cold Northerly to warmer South Westerly. Heavy rain forecast for my area by Thursday so it's going to be cleared by the end of the week.

Cairneyes · 05/01/2026 06:54

South Lincolnshire here and a light covering of snow. It’s my pup’s first day when he is allowed out of the garden and he’s not impressed by the snow!

soundsys · 05/01/2026 07:12

No snow here in Glasgow but lots of ice/frost. I had an early start today and a 20 minute walk in -5 has certainly jolted me awake for the day 🤣

Lonelycrab · 05/01/2026 07:21

Hampshire here and although I don’t think it’s snowed, the frost is so heavy it looks like it has. Off to warm the car up in a mo. Just hope the gritter has been out on its rounds…

vanillalattes · 05/01/2026 07:49

Nothing here in Cumbria, just hail last night which froze on the roads 🥶 I’m back at work as a dog walker today and have all my layers ready 😫

Nomnomnew · 05/01/2026 07:52

In the east of England, we had a few inches on Saturday so built snowmen with the kids which was lovely as they haven’t seen proper snow before. It’s barely been above freezing here so it’s all frozen solid and there’s been a bit more overnight with more forecast today.

Currently -4 but real feel -11. 🥶🥶Looks beautiful though!

Littlejohnjustwaitandseensoulstomper · 05/01/2026 07:57

Ne Scotland 8 inches deep and -3.

Biscuits4 · 05/01/2026 08:07

We had a light fall sometime yesterday afternoon, by the time I realised it was a cross of rain/snow. Gloucestershire.

gingercat02 · 05/01/2026 08:20

We had a fair but overnight Saturday/Sunday and a bit more last night. It's very pretty but quite frozen under the snow.
Not ideal for most people's first day back to work and school.
I personally love snow, but I have an older teen and only work 10 mins from home so.ir doesn't cause me too many problems. NE England coast

A light dusting here in East Anglia. I love the look when it’s first snowed, snap a photo, but then I’d like it to bugger off please! The roads look ok. Currently -2 here with feels like -6.

Its about 3 years since we’ve had any, so two of my cats are like WTF is this?!

Roll on spring/summer - the first slog is getting through the 3650 days of January.

That looks lovely @Ijwwm
The majority of our back garden is still frozen!

OP posts:
OldFred · 05/01/2026 14:22

It definitely feels colder now than this morning.
I think the refrozen ice will be problematic.
Take care out there everyone!

NE Scotland. Drifts are waist deep. Area is at a standstill. No Amazon. No post, no schools open and no food getting through to the shops. Lovely if you’ve prepared and don’t need to get out though!

I love proper deep snow like this, but I hate what we have here in Lancs; a thin layer of compacted snow that is slippery. I'm too scared of falling now I'm old.
