Sheet for a king sized bed that actually stays on

piscofrisco · 04/01/2026 08:39

We cannot seem to keep a fitted sheet on our mattress for longer than one night without it pinging off the corners. We have a king sized tempur matress and have tried king sized fitted sheets from dunelm, Tesco, random from TK Maxx, M and S and a deep one from John Lewis which was the best but still not ideal. We also had one from Tempur which was very expensive and still rubbish. Has anyone else had this (first world I know) problem and found a solution?

Following as I have the same issue. Mainly due to my husband being unable to sleep in a bed without the sheet coming off or sit in a chair without wrecking the covers.

There was some suggestion of clips I read about once but did nothing about.

Treatingmyself · 04/01/2026 08:45

Get a super king sized one and tuck it under.

Second getting a super king and tucking it right under. I'm a big wriggler in the night and this works for me .

Get a super king sized one and tuck it under.

The length will always be the same though. I dont know about the OP but in my case the whole top of the bed sheet comes away even from the middle. I swear the bed is on a downhill slope.

I had an 8 clipped device that worked well, but it was an absolute pain to get on so I used to unclip the dirty sheet and clip the new one at the same time, otherwise they'd disappear under the mattress.

Really? I’ve always used the next size up without issue! Same on my double in the spare bedroom - it has a king sized one on the mattress.

Egglio · 04/01/2026 08:50

Dunelm do different sheet depths. It is probably the depth of your mattress that is the issue than the actual king size bit.

Rocknrollstar · 04/01/2026 08:50

We use king size fitted sheets that have a valence attached and they stay put.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 04/01/2026 08:52

Go retro and use a flat sheet.

Yes I always buy bigger

We have the same issue, I thought it was because our sheets are too deep.
I've just ordered new sheets, not extra deep, so hoping this fixes the problem.

I've twice bought the clips that go under the mattress but they always break very quickly and not last more than a couple of months, and are also really faffy. So I've given up with them. Although they do keep the sheet on.

piscofrisco · 04/01/2026 09:08

I don’t know why I’ve never thought about getting a super king one 🫣. Off to Dunelm directly.
The clips look fiddly but effective. If the super king fails that’s what I will do! Thankyou all

I’m having the same issue with my Tempur double!

Rise and Fall do lovely extra deep sheets

waitingforthehallmarkedman · 04/01/2026 09:19

M&S extra deep are the only sheets that stay in place for me.

Roserunner · 04/01/2026 09:31

We bought deep sheets from dusk recently which so far seem to stay on. They had a sale on as well so we're really reasonable.

AcidicTrifle · 04/01/2026 09:39

We use the Next “Cotton Rich Extra Deep Fitted Bed Sheet” and it stays put without problems

AgnesMcDoo · 04/01/2026 09:40

Are you buying with a deep or extra deep fit?

without that you will always have the same problem

NeedForSpeedyGonzales · 04/01/2026 09:42

I just use clips. Not they ones that go the full width of the mattress, just corner clips.

And I only need them at the head end.

@NeedForSpeedyGonzales YOU ARE MY NEW BEST FRIEND!!! Why did I not know about these things? I'm so fed up of being in a tangle of sheets, drives me demented. I have ordered some. Thank you for saving my sanity!

We bought ourselves a king size bed a few months ago, I went back to using flat sheets. The mattress is so big and heavy, they sheets don't move

piscofrisco · 04/01/2026 10:00

@lucysmamit’s a bit clipped as I actually got it off Facebook but here it is-a slow cooker one

Dunelm do different sheet depths. It is probably the depth of your mattress that is the issue than the actual king size bit.

This could be the issue. I bought a dunelm sheet that matched the depth of the matress (25cm) and it fitted fine in the corners but is half way up the side of the matress at the halfway point of each side - it doesn't seem to stretch down enough. So I've just bought a deeper one to see if that bugger stays put and doesn't ride upHmm
